Well, if we got Mike Huckabee wanting him executed for treason (wtf?) and Newt Gingrich calling him an 'information terrorist', and they're doing so on national television with no reprecussions, it could be that everyone involved in this smear campaign is finally mad with power. Like spoiled two-year-olds acting up because they don't like something that doesn't go their way.

I've heard of "Sex By Surprise", by only when it's reworded and written next to Pyramid Head.

But wouldn't 'not wearing a condom during sex when someone requested it' be more....."Rejected Sex Protection". I can't think "Sex By Surprise" without confetti.

I still don't get why the government's getting worked up about this.

I mean, come on. Ahmadinejad's Hitler. Russia's fucked up. No one gives a damn about North Korea.

    Isn't all this common knowledge?

    @Silence

Did a little research about "överraskningssex"/"sex by surprise" and it's as they say in the blog another word for rape. It's used to make the word rape less dramatic.

But the whole story seems a little suspect. I don't think it will go to court if the media has got the story right
"All generalizations are false, including this one".

Search engines being pressured into removing wikileaks from search criteria, servers being lent on to remove their services, court orders being undertaken to silence the truths from being revealed and finally the face of it all has been arrested.

The world we live in is fraught with injustice and corruption but nothing so blatant as this.

I guess we should all just carry on and do nothing like the worker drones our governments wish us to be....

*jams out to rage against the machine*

Joking aside: I'd like to punch huckerbee and the other US politicians in the face for calling for his execution.
But others, particularly rightwingers, are seeking retribution, with Assange as the prime target. Legal experts in the US were divided over whether the US could successfully prosecute Assange under the 1917 espionage act. Sceptics said the US protections for journalists would make such a prosecution difficult and also cited pragmatic issues, such as the difficulty of extraditing Assange, an Australian.

Huckabee, who was among the contenders for the Republican presidential nomination in 2008 and is likely to stand again in 2012, told the Politico website: "Whoever in our government leaked that information is guilty of treason, and I think anything less than execution is too kind a penalty."
    Ruthless megalomaniacs.

We could say these are open secrets. But if they become official, it brings up several issues. Diplomats etc. shouldn't say that "he is Hitler" because it is very rude and it could ruin the relationship between those two coutries.

And I'm sure this is not only about saying open secrets out loud. Many schemes become obvious, and I don't think that Hillary Clinton (and probably Rice too) ordering diplomats to spy on important people(including medical, personal thing and bank account numbers) in other countries is a minor issue. It is a big issue, and it shows that no one is safe. Not that we were ever, but... you know. For common people it is frightening to some extent.

I'm sure the CIA (or whatever organisation operating in law free territory) is already hunting the rest of the whistleblowers working with assange. The difference is that if they get arrested (or shot) is that the world won't know anything about it.

I think the first one caught has got 40+ years in prison. That's pretty horrific when you see paedophiles and rapists and murderers getting half that.

Execution for traitors. Everyone who leaks hypocrisy should get death penalty.

Important was that Mike wanted someone hanged! And you don't seem to find that disturbing.

like you haven't wanted someone dead before...and its because of assange's misplaced and misguided desire for transparency in EVERYTHING that will put peoples' lives and careers in danger. What's wrong with hanging someone who took an oath and made a promise and completely went back on his word? And on an international scale as well.
