Dynamo 5 is awesome, Scrap's my fav. character, but
    Spoiler:
I really hope she reunites with the original team, I really liked the chemistry they had with each other

    SI 6
    Spoiler:
I'm looking forward to more banter and scenes between Thor and Bucky. I'm interested in how Thor will react when he learns it's Bucky behind the mask and if he'll ever except him as Steve's replacement.

I also loved Fury's line, but it's a shame about Mar-vell. I was hoping he'd stick around for a while. I find the character interesting, especally his death and wish I could see more stories with him.

    Spoiler:
In the penciled interior art, when Cap asks Who do I look like to you? His old self is in the background, here it is.

So either they were going to make it so Thor knew who he was but changed it or he still does.

    Spoiler:
    Don't you mean Skrull-vell
I also found his death kinda rushed, but I have read comments that some readers didn't like him. If anything good came out of it, its that NohVarr's gonna man up and live up to the Kree code of honour thing.

...wait, they killed him? The hell?

What was the fucking point of this whole ruse, then? I mean seriously, the whole thing seems like a waste of time now. Christ.

At this rate, the only "good" Earth-based Skrull heroes left are going to be Xavin and Crusader, and I'm not even sure about the latter.

(insert joke about black guys not dying first for a change)

An X-Men What If... story involving Magik/Illiana.

    Birds of Prey # 122
    Spoiler:
Not to bad an issue. I'm really liking Bedard as the new Birds Writer since McKeever's run wasn't all that great. I'm intrigued by Infinity, and the rest of the characters he writes well. Seems like Manhunter might not appear for a while, but since she's back in her own AMAZING book that's not a problem.

Can't wait to see Oracle vs. Joker, it's been such a long time coming I hope the confrontation is actually worthwhile and there aren't any cop outs.

    Batgirl # 2

    Spoiler:
I got this late, and #3 is actually out today but I'm gonna pick that up next week.

This is really good, it's nice to see that Cassandra is stopping Marque from killing, obviously this series is all about redeeming Cassandra, so yay for that!

I hope Cassandra gets a new last name one of these days. For one thing, Cain represents her evil father who used her, and maybe at the end of all this Batman will adopt her and make her Cassandra Wayne. I could totally see that working.

    Titans #5

    Spoiler:
Wow, first issue I actually thoroughly enjoyed. It only took 5 issues (six including the Titans East Special), 3 artists, 6 months ( way more than that if you include Titans East) and 4 crappy crappy crappy issues in between #1 and #5, but hey Winnick FINALLY did it.

    Good things in the issue:
-Donna's ugly new costume is gone for good, back to the sexy starfield
    -Cyborg does something
-Winnick's writing was actually good for once, I know he's a VERY capable writer but his work on Titans up until now has just been atrocious.
-Art wasn't just a bunch of splash pages, this new artist actually understood storytelling within a comic book and how to do more than just characters in poses

While I am a fan of Nightwing and Starfire being together, I have to admit I like the way Winnick handled the scene between them. And I'm sooooooo glad that Starfire was the strong one, she was a victim and didn't go along with Nightwing's booty callin' yet again, this time she stood up for herself and demanded either he love her for good or they never hook up again. This makes room for Starfire to explore a new love interest. (Hopefully they also end the on off relationship with Dick and Babs as well, Oracle and Starfire both deserve to have a new love interest for a while)

Anywho, soooooo glad DC decided to fix the numerous problems with this book and make it good. Hopefully from here on out this book will be as good as this issue because then it'll finally be the book we all wanted from the very beginning.

Not sure I like Raven being evil........again.....but hey at least the book wasn't a steaming pile of crap for once!

    Brave and the Bold #17

    Spoiler:
was very good it featured Supergirl and Raven (in her cool OYL costume, not the stupid dress she has in Titans) and even though it was set during the Joe Kelly run and explores the evil crystal killer origin that has since been retconned into not being real, it was still a very well written issue. But then again it's Marv Wolfman so of course it was good. LOVED the ongoing theme of fathers throughout the issue, great stuff.
    ArticUNO ZapDOS MolTRES!!!!!!!!

Holy crap, I never noticed that!

Lots of good stuff this week!

    The Outisders #11-
    Spoiler:
Issue starts with Supes arriving at Wayne Manor, he enters and finds Arrow drinking some of the stuff in the Manor. Arrow later shows him the Batcave trashed and messed up.
Que to Batgirl who is in one of Penguin's establishments, she harasses Penguin to see if he knows anything about Bats, but all he knows he's already told Robin. Totally pissed off by Batgirl's attitude and Intergang messing up his business he leaves the establishment. Some crime boss called Stitches pisses off Batgirl even more, but only gets a few bruises before Batgirl calls it quits.
Metamorpho and Grace meet with Dr. Arkham at Arkham Asylum to find that the inmates have learned of Bats gone missing with the Joker to blame for this.
Gordon lights up the Bat signal, only to find GeoForce and Katana responding to it. They learn from him that Nightwing's arrived before them and is beating the living shit out of criminals in Bats absence (This would take place after his series' tie-ins since he seems reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally pissed in the panels).
Lightning tries to get info from the JLA regarding Bats, but they got nothing.
Issue ends with the gang considering breaking up the team, but Lightning cuts in informing them of a video message from Batman

    Pretty good issue overall.

    Action Comics 869- FUCKING AWESOME!
    Spoiler:
Brainiac: "And Super? There is nothing Super about you. Not like me"
I personally thought that was badass.
An awesome issue Kara and the Planet people fight off Brainiac's droids. Supes succeeds in knocking out Brainiac and finds out that Kara's parents are ALIVE and that the city of Argo had been integrated with Kandor.
Brainiac regains consciousness and succeeds in Bottling up Metropolis! Issue ends with Brainiac sending a missle to the sun in order to destroy Earth now that he has gained his objective!

Ghost Rider 27, 3 words; KUNG FU NUNS!
    Spoiler:
Don't let that put you off, this issue was good. So Sara and Johnny arrive at the Caretaker's place only to find him severly wounded and near death. Johnny gets to deal with Blackout, while Sara has to go and prevent Ketch from destroying all records of the previous Ghost Riders. As the records or books that contain the GR knowledge is being burned all the knowledge in them gets passed on to her.
Johnny finds Ketch who uses a door to reach Tibet. Sara tells Johnny to follow him and that she has become the new Caretaker.
Good issue but could've gone with some VISIBLE action :/

Atomic Robo- Dogs of War 2
    Spoiler:
An all action issue with great humor of Robo and WW2 soldiers taking down the mechs the Germans developed for the War.
As a bonus we get the REAL conclusion of what happened to Robo and team when that giant monster appeared in Egypt!

Marvel Apes 2 was good though that last twist was kinda bizarre, screw spoilers for this one-
Marty meets up with the Ape-verse's Invaders who finish off Doc Ook, then is informed that Reed is working on a machine that'll return him and Dr. Fiona to the 616-verse but it'll take 2 days to complete it.
When the machine is ready, Marty tries to test it but it doesn't work, Cap comes in and confronts Marty as his plan is revealed; he wants to travel to the 616-verse and conquer it. Reed crashes into the lab and tries to kill Cap with a wooden stake, but gets killed instead. Cap and the Invaders are then revealed to be vampires.
Marty and Fiona get KOed and Cap prepares for invading the 616-verse, but it seems Speedball and some other heroes have plans to stop him.
Pretty good issue, but I hope they explain the vampire thing.

    Mighty Avengers 18...
    Spoiler:
Taking 2 days before the Invasion, we see Fury inform his team that Maria Hill is a Skrull, after one of the members, Hellfire rants on about the shit Fury's done to them over the past month, he formulates a plan for them to abduct her.
We go on to see how they perform their mission as each one of them uses their abilities to avoid capture by SHIELD and get away with it.
At their hideout, Fury reveals that what they kidnapped was in fact an LMD and that Maria was never a Skrull.
Issue ends with the team seeing news of the Invasion's begging

Didn't feel all THAT interesting IMO, but it was an OK issue.

All Hail Megatron 3 was great-
    Spoiler:
Astrotrains been going through underground train tunnels and killing off any humans he finds taking shelter in them. The Decepticons damage to the US have been extremely critical to the point that they destroyed the White House and even killed the President!
Megs and Starscream have a little chat wherein Megs tells Starscream that even though he has potential, Starscream himself doesn't want to live up to it.
Issue ends with Astrotrain destroying another underground tunnel.
Oh and that camera Decepticon, Reflector was it? is 3 Decepticons with a hive mind of sorts.

    Good issue overall.

War Machine: Weapon of SHIELD #33, HOLEEEEEEEEEEEE FUUUUUUUUUUUCK!
    Spoiler:
Issue starts with a recap of events that happened to Tony in the Savage Lands and Rhoedy leaving Camp Hamond. As Rhodey is following the Beacon he intercepts a Skrull battle ship and fires at it with his weapons severely damaging it. He then confronts a Skrull with the powers of Nova, Moondragon and CometMan, which he eventually defeats.
The Beacon Rhoedy followed led him to a satellite that isn't integrated with Stark Tech, but Rhodey can use. He meeds a former member of Force Works, Suzi who informs him of a recording from Tony. As they listen to it, Rhodey is informed that his armor can integrate with Stark Tech BUT his armor is a combination of other technologies including some from Stane's company way back.
As Rhodey suspects Suzi for being a Skrull she informs him that some Skrull battle ships have found them. To fight back she leads Rhoedy to a console where he integrates with the satellite to fight off the battle ships.
    The satellite begins to 'transform'.

    Kickass issue!

    Captain Britain & MI13 #5 was awesome!
    Spoiler:
Blade joins the team, Knight meets up with Faiza's parents and explains what is going on, as Blade is being briefed on their HQ, MI13 receive a message from Cap. Midlands who found one of the Monsters that escaped from Avalon in Burmingham. As the team gathers together in a helicopter, Blade stabs Spitfire with a wooden stake! Yeah that ending was rather surprising!
    Other stuff-
UNION JACK BABY! Too bad he won't join the team, that would've been badass.
Looks like Blade has a synthetic hand now, when'd he get it?
During the day Spitfire can be in human form while at night a vampire.
Seems Brian's powers alter to the point that at one time he can be very weak, the other pretty strong.

    Uncanny X-Men 502, I hate Land's art >_<
    Spoiler:
So Logan, Nightcrawler and Karma are fighting some Hellfire Cult goons, Dazzler visits Pixie in the hospital she's staying, Cyke is interrogating one of the Cult's guys they captured with a mix of needles and Optic Blasts and finds out about the Cult's HQ, issue ends with Cyke and team attacking them, and it seems that Red Queen has the same face as Emma O_o

Guardians of the Galaxy #5, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
    Spoiler:
THERE HAS TO BE AN EXPLANATION WHY COSMO IS KEEPING THOSE SKRULL CHICKS IN THAT QUARTERS, HE CANNOT HAVE BETRAYED THEM!
Drax wanting to blow everyone up is a bad idea, he's too badass to think up of something like that!
I have a feeling Gamora was replaced as a Skrull while she was recovering.
Still...I don't think the Skrulls have any plans on invading Knowhere unless they want to extract the knowledge it contains

    Herc 121
    Spoiler:
Amazon leader kidnaps Cho, wants to have sex with him then kill him, Herc about to go save him but Namor interrupts and confronts him.
I really am not liking some of the comical stuff in this book, specifically how they're treating Ares as a jealous bastard.

    SI Thor #2...mixed feelings-
    Spoiler:
Some good action but the Asgardians getting GGPOed by an ugly-ass bitch Super Skrull just feels...wrong.
Next issue Thor lays the smackdown on the stupid, stupid Skrulls

    Young X-Men #6-
    Spoiler:
Starts off pretty dull until they start talking about Graymalkin, after some tests Beast confirms that Gray is in Xaiver's great grandfather; he is over 200 years old! The rest of the issue deals with the formation of the new team.

Oh and to encourage you to getting War Machine #33-
    Spoiler:

  12. #2012

    Default Re: American Comics

So what'd ya guys think of Teen Titans 63?
Teen Titans 63; good action packed issue-
    Spoiler:
I recall Bombshell getting defeated by the Titans but don't remember her getting KiA. Anyway, Bombshell is being targeted by the government and they attempt to extract her from a hideout she has by a shopping mall, when the military's attempts are failing, the team comes in and attempt to stop her.
Wondergirl almost has her captured, but Ares' son kills a civilian which causes Cassie to faint giving Bombshell the chance to escape.
The team goes to the JSA to see what's wrong with Cassie, but Dr. MidNite couldn't find anything wrong with her. He does conclude that whatever is causing it could be mystical (in this case from reading this issue if someone dies, mostly by the hand of Ares' son, Cassie goes nauseous).
Issue ends with Bombshell attacking a military facility and confronting her father.

BTW when the hell did Wildcat become a humanoid cat ala Beast O_o?

    Rulk #6-
    Spoiler:
Glad to see the REAL Thor come in and give the proper beating that Rulk deserves, but seriously Hulk not taking someone like Rulk seriously? Pretty stupid IMO. Calling all those heroes to help out the city felt....unnecessary for the reader to see IMO, and even Namor yelling Imperious Rex didn't impress me :/
Overall...meh issue, hope the later stories will be better

Avengers Initiative #17 (different artist this issue)-
    Spoiler:
As the Skrulls start taking over Camp Hamond, the Shadow Initiative comprised of Bengal, Trauma, Mutant Zero (who apparently has RED HAIR) & Constrictor are signaled to action. At the same time, the Skrull Queen arrives at the Camp. GIAntMan is enrolled with them to try and take down the Skrull Queen and the Skrulls.
Cut to Nevada, where 3DMan and the SKK have finished killing off some Skrulls.
Meanwhile at the Chandler's residence; Jocasta appears!
Back to Trauma and co. as they try to weed out if one of them is a Skrull, the whole debacle ends when Trauma uses his powers on Mutant 0. I have a feeling that she is the child that Cable took with him to the future.
Cut to Fury and his legion; where he has a discussion with Crusader, sort of a motivational speech.
Back at Camp Hamond, Trauma and co. attempt to kill the Skrulls, but the Queen manages to trick them into thinking TRAUMA is a Skrull thereby succeeding in defeating the team. You ask me that's a retarded way to be defeated :/ AntMan is still in action though and seems to have a plan.
Jocasta makes contact with Devil Slayer and meets up with 3DMan and his group to assist in defeating the Skrulls.
TBH I don't recall what really happened to her, but for some reason I think she is a Skrull.
One thing that annoyed me in this issue is how Baron is being a whiny old man, that really doesn't suit him IMO.

Didn't like this issue much, the art is good but I prefer the usual artist.

Daredevil 111, Lady Bullseye is :spyfap: This is a very good issue even though its my first time reading the series. This arc is sure to be awesome.

Angel Revelations #5 was a very good issue and a WONDERFUL conclusion to the mini!

    B. Panther 41....was less about B. Panther than you think-
    Spoiler:
The issue was mostly about the Leader of the Invading Skrull party, K'vvvr and his reflection on his life as a soldier to the Skrull army.
The Skrulls have captured T'challa and Storm and began torturing them, but the Skrulls eventually find out that they were in fact torturing Skrulls that the Wakandian scientists used to make them doppeldangers of the two!
Issue ends with T'challa killing K'vvvr and defeating the armada attacking Wakanda.
I personally didn't like this conclusion much BUT it did have some very good writing skills from Aaron.

    Nova #17, FUCK YEAH!
    Spoiler:
Glad to see Kl'rt didn't betray Richard :br:
Rick checks on with his parents to see if they're OK then goes to check his brother who has found a job in Project PEGASUS. As he inspects the building he is attacked by Darkhawk! After Rick's brother stops the fight, he informs Rick of what's going on and introduces him to his colleagues. Skrulls later attack the building to which Darkhawk and Rick try to stop. They eventually retreat back to recover themselves and Rick is informed that Worldmind could be rebooted. As Darkhawk fights off the attacking Skrulls, the scientists try to reboot Worldmind, but when Rick starts to hear a voice, THE ORIGINAL QUASAR APPEARS!
    Fuck yeah this is awesome!

    X-Men 216-
    Spoiler:
More psychic reflection on what Xavier has done over the years, though I really liked that the issue ends with Xavier and Cyke coming to terms.

    Marvel 1985 #5-
    Spoiler:
Toby finally manages to meet up with a hero of the Marvel U.; Spiderman in his attempt to get the heroes to come to his world and stop the villains.
His dad saves his mom and they both try to escape from the villains attack on the town. As they're leaving; Galactus hungers!

    Ms. Marvel 31-
    Spoiler:
OK this a change from what I've been reading. Carol's dad has lung cancer and her brother mails her to come visit them at their new home in Maine. She gets into an argument with her mom then goes to her dad's room and talks with him (her father, however is asleep linked to medication and machines). After some reflection on her life and her father, she leaves her family, with her final thoughts being: "If I loved these people the way I'm supposed to, I couldn't do what I need to do right now...and what I need to do is kill Norman Osborn.
OK WTF?! Did Osborn do anything to her in any of her older series/appearances?!

Runaways #2....not much happened really we just know why the gang got attacked. Hope stuff start picking up soon, but I personally found the art to be a lot better this time around.

    Thunderbolts 124....
    Spoiler:
OK how the hell can Norman kill half a dozen Skrulls that look like Spidey that may even have his powers among others with just a huge ass gun? ...and damn was snapping Penance out of that illusion really quick.
Guess they wanted to speed things up :/
So anyways Norman stops Venom from killing civilians on live TV, Moonstone gets attacked by Swordsman's sister cuz she almost killed her brother, but is in turn killed by Bullseye who also kills the Skrulls in the room. Whether Moonstone was planning on defecting will remain a mystery :/ Anyway she tells Bullseye to keep what happened in the room a secret from Osborn and they move on with their mission.
Norman uses Dr. Chen's predicament to kill off some more Skrulls, as well as provoking Swordsman to destroy a Skrull battleship and inform the media and the American people how he is fighting for them with his 'reformed' villains.
An OK issue even though a lot of stuff was resolved pretty quick.

    X-Force #7-
    Spoiler:
Rahne still goes berserk when she sees Angel, just as the Purifiers hypnotized her too, and Angel can turn into Archangel but is begging to control it.
Graydon Creed returns to office and tells the American public about the dangers of mutants blah blah blah, with later panels showing what the other people Bastion brought back to life are planning for. From that one panel with Pierce, Young X-Men would take place AFTER the first arc. Anyways when Logan asks Cyke who their target is, he tells them to go after the Vanisher; he now has the Legacy Virus.

Good set-up for the new arc and the art is pretty good.

New Avengers 45 pretty much clears up the whole House of M+Skrulls thing. Jim Cheung's the artist in the issue though.

Deadpool #2 WHAT THE FUCKING; WAY YOU AWESOME SOB!
    Spoiler:
AWESOME ISSUE! DP convinces the Skrulls to copy his healing factor, but also recommends they have him train the new Super Skrulls that have his healing factor. The result? Hilarity insues! Eventually the new Super Skrulls go crazy and start killing one another even the Skrulls that abducted DP!
Issue ends with DP informing Nick Fury that he succeeded in his mission!
This issue was all kinds of awesome and the humor was great!
Though...I didn't get the Rob Liefield joke :p

Well that's it for now, gonna go read some Bomb Queen.

That's Wildcat 2, the original's son. The original is still around and isn't a humanoid cat.

and I'll admit, as fucking awful as I thought and still think issue 62 was I'll admit that i really enjoyed Teen Titans 63.

    Spoiler:
First off, Wendy is alive! Thank the lord at least one of them survived somehow. And so out of 2 characters that never got any development, at least 1 is still around with the possibility of gaining some depth (if she awakes that is)

Bombshell is interesting.......go figure! I didn't think I'd care for her at all, but I'm genuinely intrigued by what's going on with her. Obviously she's gonna join the team and I do have issue with that since she's almost exactly like Ravager......loud strongheaded female, former badguy, manipulated by father etc. When Ravager inevitably returns these two will feel way too similiar IMO.

The Blue Beetle and Kid Devil dialogue was great.

But the best part of the issue is that Cassie was DUN DUN DUN NOT AN UNLKEABLE BITCH FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THIS BOOK IN THE PAST 2 1/2 YEARS! YAY!!!!!!!!!

Seriously she finally felt like the real Cassie again, and not the overly emotional wreck we've been getting since Superboy died. (aside from the awesome Wonder Girl mini that made her likeable for a brief time)

Still on the fence with McKeever but 61 was good and 63 was good, and 62 was bloody disgustingly atrocious.........hopefully he'll continue to improve, especially since Static is showing up soon.

Superman issue with Krypto was awesome, Krypto was so adorable and awesome at the same time.

Superman/Batman was great as well, the Lil' League is the CUTEST thing ever! (Lil' Red Tornado looks like legos or a servbot from Megaman Legends!) And Batman having to babysit all of them is hilarious. And when Lil' Catwoman goes bananas and tries to kiss big Batman I laughed sooooo hard!
    ArticUNO ZapDOS MolTRES!!!!!!!!

Holy crap, I never noticed that!

Wendell MOTHERFUCKING Vaughn! The real, original Quasar!

Hopefully he's not a Skrull or some similar bullshit, and will reclaim his bands from that impostor Phyla. Because she really sucks. :/

Hell, I'm really, really tempted to break my boycott on Marvel to get this one issue. Cap might not be back yet, but this is an occasion that warrants breaking it once.

@gogo- Might read Supes and Bat/Supes series, you got me intrigued :D

Yeah I know the boxer Wildcat is still alive, and I heard he may get a mini!

Oh and speaking of which Zatanna is getting an ongoing series next year.

I think I might pick up that new Powergirl book and the new Justice League.

That was my main issue with the Justice League. Batman agrees with me as well (read batman and the outsiders #1 [80s series]. Even the cover proves my point).

    That is AWESOME.

Now I have to check the Colbert Report to see if he talks about it.
