I dont think they would stop. They have done operations with help of other countries special forces inside the holy mosques before too (twice i am not wrong). and both times they killed many people (soldiers, hostages and terrorists/demonstrators).

and if they did it again... i donno about rest but at-least in south asia it will opposite effect. The blame will be laid on USA. I can already imagine religious "mullahs" delivering sermons that it was US and Jewish lobbies that is causing muslims to fight Muslims and causing bloodshed @ holy sites. and knowing south Asians there is no doubt that it would just erupt in anti-us protests not anti-saudi protests. Its also something to do with how saudi king has been portrayed in media in this part of world. I remember growing up watching hoursssssss long documentaries about how saudi kings are humble down to earth persons who have served Muslim community world wide. Even faced with facts, they wont accept that he can do something horrible.

Yeah, the United States' disapproval rating is extremely high in Pakistan; around 80% in 2009 looks like. Things have changed quite a bit in recent years though; since 2008, the United States has had about a forty point jump in its favorability rating in Egypt for instance. Of course, that still only put us about at about fifty percent approval and it's dropped back down since then.

On the opposite side of the spectrum, Albania absolutely loves the United States. Woodrow used to be a fairly popular name there because of Wilson's involvement in creating it as an independent state.

I wasn't just talking about Pakistan but about South Asians in general (Pakistan, Indian Muslims, Bangladesh) and yes agreed about Pakistanis not liking US.

Don't get the muslim world wrong, the large majority of us recognize the need for muslim countries' rulers to get their acts straight or get the hell out.

Hell, it boggles my mind to think of the ridiculous things that muslim rulers do and continue to do given the severe warnings clearly outlined in the Quran and Hadith for the unjust ruler. In the past, honourable rulers of the ummah would be so selfless that they would live a meager living, the same as his fellow people.
They were so careful in their actions and judgments because they feared to disobey the laws of God and to be an unjust ruler.

But I digress, whoever starts a protest or riot in Mecca or Medina will be out of their effing mind. Mecca and Medina are not the place to start crap like that. Millions of people all over the world spend their lives wishing to place their feet in those cities, thousands have written in their wills that they want their funerals to take place in the Grand Mosque of Mecca.
A few billion hearts are connected to those cities.

No matter what kind of muslim a person is, even one "born into the religion" and doesn't know much about Islam at all, even those corrupted leaders, we all know: you don't start trouble there.

If something happens there, trust me, you will see an explosion of protests in the world unlike anything you could ever imagine.
