it's not about being the most informative, it's about being the best babysitter, to put it bluntly. I'm sure it's not always fun either, as you gotta deal with whining and bad behavior, and always gotta be good, cause your the one in charge. Being active is a good thing though. I don't know these 3 people you mentioned, but You'd be a good choice Alina. :) and it seems your eager to work on this already.

Sensui was my choice not because of his collection, but because he cares. I think he is mature enough without being a judgmental pain in the ass and I'm sure he'll be a good listener and won't use his "powers" on a whim.
Of course I'm not here to judge of this and APF's team will have the last word on this matter.
and , from Sanji's Harem Petit Chara Land 's set, are up for grabs. 630¥ each. PM me~

count me in as support for the collectibles sub-forum. :)

I really really think that just one collectibles thread is just not enough anymore. our little community has grown quite a bit and I think we do need a bit of structure. as an example, our collectibles thread v. 4 has started in april 2010 and reached post #9952 after only 3 months. the same has happened with the collectibles thread v. 5 and I am sure v. 6 will count more than 9000 posts at the end of february (it already counts 8685 posts). seeing this, it is clear that this part of the one piece community has a lot to say.

as many before me have already mentioned, there is a lot of information to give members who are new in the area of collectibles, however right now we don't really have a chance to give them a FAQ. seriously, no new user views the first post of a thread with more than 400 pages. so a sub-forum would help organizing things like this a lot better. the red-flag sellers thread could find a new home there too. I'd personally like a thread for online stores where people have the chance to give their experiences with them. It is hard to look through 400 pages hoping that somewhere the shop you plan to buy from is mentioned. if you decide to ask in the actual thread chances are that your question wont be recognised or burried under hundreds of posts which occur once a new POP is announced or preorders go up.

I also really liked coopz idea of rating forum sellers from the marketplace thread. this would help others a lot seeing as many buyers don't really tell the community if something didn't went right.

EDIT: great .. T_T it's already decided .. please somebody tell me that my post wasn't for nothing .. T^T

I'm putting my full support behind this.

Before when the forum was smaller, it was understandable to put all the collectable discussion in one thread. However, with the rapid production of various P.O.P figures, DX figures, Apparel and other random crap merchandise there needs to be another way for members to vent/brag about their collections.

With a sub-forum it'll be easier to navigate through. Just saying.

Elisabeth, I like your idea for the customization section (I'd really love one because I'm into that) and I feel more people would become interested if told how? I would be willing to make tutorials and educate people on that front. It's always fun to see what people can do when they learn that it's possible!

Maybe an 'authenticate this' section as well where people can post questionable figures for us to verify before they buy... or, after -_-;;. Definitely put in the FAQ our lingo as well (SW POP DX NEO CB Mild GLM GLC IK HS SE MBH WCF SDX SHQ etc). We practically speak another language.

As for mods, my main vote is for Sensui. He's always been level headed, doesn't throw oil on flames and everyone seems to like and respect him (also he is here 24/7 and is a hard worker). Additionally he is not the kind to abuse power or seek it, and is patient to both sides of an argument. Lastly, he's the one that started this suggestion thread fighting for our own piece of the pie.

@ Chucklepants Fallupface : aww you should! I can send you an extra WCF and then we'll see how you like it XD
    @buuhan : you are missed ;_;

I really like the idea of having sub forum.

For mods, i'll vote Maggie and Sensui. They always been great, calm, and neutral.

my vote would also go to sensui. he's always there and knows what he's talking about. I also can't remember any situation where he didn't act fair. ^.^ I think he'd be the best to fill that spot. however I think the whole collectibles community should be able to have a say.

Other than that, just be patient I suppose. We're moving forward regarding this topic, but it could take some time.
Yeah, none of us were trying to imply that AP would be responsible in any way for our dealings with each other. What we meant was that a more personalized mod who pays more attention to our community would facilitate member safety - they'd help us keep things in check and hopefully help chase off the dishonest individuals still posting on the threads right now, heh. One of the problems we had recently was that - through no fault of their own at all, our thread is simply too big to keep up with - some mods made judgments for our whole community without knowing the complete story behind the situation.

I agree that maggie would also be a great mod! For now I don't think we should be too greedy though, haha. Sensui has never been one to start arguments or pick fights over small things, and that's one of the things that would make him impartial during other peoples' arguments and, overall, a fair and level-headed mod. Maybe later on we'll ask how the workload is going and if sensui prefers some help, we can ask if we can elect someone else as well.

I agree with maggie, a customization section would be great. I've never been able to do anything to touch up my own figures, and both maggie and elisabeth are pros at it so that would rock. ;D

I am quite new on the forums but love this plan. I honestly come here the most often because of merchandise talk. It's a different hobby within the fan community and it has grown beyond my own belief.

I think Alinka has made a really nice set up, stickies for the general talk, different topics for people their own collections and the market section. Aside from that obviously the "offtopic" in non OP merchandise.

Sounds like a plan you guys, if there is anything I can do to help just give a shout out ;).

A separate subforum will be useful indeed, because nowadays it's very difficult to catch up with the news in the Collectibles thread going through tens of pages.

I just wanna add that I've been on a business trip for like ... 3 days and I had to catch up on like 30 pages in the collectibles thread. XD that's madness!! we seriously need a sub-forum. XD
