Do you hear the whisper men? The whisper men are near.
If you hear the whisper men, then turn away your ear.
Do not hear the whisper men, whatever else you do.
For once you've heard the whisper men, they'll stop and look at you.
This could be part of why: http://comicbooks.tumblr.com/post/23...m-by-alex-ahad
She contributed some to Scott Pilgrim. This is some guest artwork in the first volume.
Damn, you beat me to it.
Ahh, that makes sense then.

I guess they took down the staff page, but yeah I'm pretty sure he is (or was).Wait, Scrotum's working on this game?

I'll consider this. Hope there will be a demo or trial of it.
And a year's worth of DLC? Sounds like what Castlevania HoD and several fighting games SHOULD be.
I believe there will be a demo before the game's summer release and yes, the DLC for this sounds promising.

This is probably going to sound really weird and stupid to you guys, but did anyone else feel that the vids and animation were going a bit too fast? I couldn't quite tell what was going on in some parts, like it was on fast forward or something.
Maybe after repeated viewings or playing it'll look better.
Yeah, I can just tell that you aren't very experienced with fighters...
I think I'll invest in this as well...I am a sucker for fighting games and will try anything once.
Simply, it looks like reaching a different demographic is a priority...what?

The info on this game is still pretty limited, so things may change, but as of now I'm really liking what I'm seeing. I know they're supposed to release a demo before the game is out, so I'm eager to see how the controls feel and how the game looks on my widescreen tv. ^^
Yes, I'm going to reserve judgment on the "wee-a-boo" thing for now. So far, we have a schoolgirl with parasitic hair, a circus performer with a living weapon for a hat, and Peacock (who I guess is a sort of bloodthirsty cyborg according to her bio). Not too bad. But also seen in the trailer is this girl--

I agree. I haven't played Arcana Heart so I couldn't tell you about the gameplay mechanics, but the art and characters styles aren't in the same vein, imho. There some sex appeal to Skull Girls (of course), but the game doesn't beat you over the head with it as far as I can tell. Arcana Heart also gives me a...disturbed sort of feeling that I don't get from Skull Girls, ya know? I figure as long as SG doesn't have unlockable artwork of rosy-cheeked loli's touching each other, I'm cool with the look of this game.
And I just adore Peacock's design. She looks like a fabulously evil, old-school Disney character. ♥I meanSpoiler:
I dearly hope they deliver on this and that the DLCs aren't unreasonably-priced. A new character each month would be all kinds of awesome~Originally Posted by Rageasarus
I've been playing a lot of MvC3 since last month so the animation doesn't look too fast to me, but there's definitely a lot of motion. But as you familiarize yourself with the game, you'll be able to follow the action much more easily. :D
a mood come alive.
To be perfectly frank, when I first saw footage of this game way back when, I thought it was a Fighter Maker game by one guy, ala Battle Capacity, and forgot about it because of that. The fact that there's two teams behind it and that it's a retail title is what really burns my chaps about this game. This does not look like something one spends legal tender on. Even someone like me, with money to burn, feels like that's just silly.
I thought the same exact thing when I saw it. Again; an American Arcana Heart.
Can't wait 'till Fetish Kombat comes out for the PSN! I'mma snatch that shit up! I hear tell it's got err' kinda girly archetype a guy could be into!
Problem is, those concepts are painfully reminiscent of Guilty Gear. To the point where Daisuke Ishiwatari probably needs to choke a bitch... Just look at hair girl.
Spoiler:
And take "circus performer with a living hat," change "circus" to "rock," and you get...
Spoiler:
I swear to god if they have a Samurai chick, I am calling shinanegans all day long. Honestly, the only one I've seen that doesn't resemble a Guilty gear character to the point of me going "oh come on" is the god damn maid... Who resembles Mech Hisui from Melty Blood jesus christ
'Sup, bastard daughter of Zappa and A.B.A, howzit goin'?
Oh, and to the Destructoid article, if these designs aren't overtly sexual, then I'm an overweight black woman. I direct your attention to Not Millia Rage's entire outfit. And the fact that every character seems to have Makato Nanaya and Litchi Faye Ling's ridiculous ADHD boobs.
Man, these developers sure like Arc Systems Works. A lot.
Sorry if I seem bitter, but discovering what looked to be a one-man fangame is not only being done by two development teams, but is being released as a retail title, and doesn't look any better than when you thought it was a fangame (aside from the 3-D lighting) just rubs me the wrong way.

In conclusion, the main reason why Lord Captain Shmeckie strongly dislike Skull Girls is because it has no penises in the cast.
Which is why the entire roster is boring because it's only showed two playable girls! ...and holy fucking shit, you guys! Girls have no penises!
Yup, that's right folks. No big, round, luscious penises in this game.
If you're looking for cock, then you better get the hell out, because there's NONE here.
If this game was "Skull Dudes" or "Skull Villains," he would jerk off mad hard to it.
Create a "flash-like" fighter (with an even crappier look than this game!) with any resemblances to M. Bison, Hazama, Dormammu, or Geese and see what happens and watch here his hands go.

Oh, my bad. I watched the recent Destructoid article and wasn't paying close enough attention - the animator who does the idle animations is a girl. I thought they said the character designer.
Oh.
And Schmeckie is CLEARLY hating.
Parasite hair girl's original color scheme is a black hair and skirt with a white shirt - what are you talking about?
The Circus performer with the hat that grows arms and does all her grappling moves for her is SUCH an I-No rip man, totally a rip off. She is just like Carl, too. I mean, look at them. They both have ARMS.
...Try harder. The first girl - of who knows how many - to be revealed is clearly a homage, yes. But for the others, you're gonna have to try harder.
I just observe. The hate comes later.
They certainly are using the blonde color scheme quite a bit, then. Not helping.Parasite hair girl's original color scheme is a black hair and skirt with a white shirt - what are you talking about?
I was thinking Peacock when I said Carl, I'll cede that, but circus performer's whole concept sounds way too I-No (also very much her outfit), plays way too Potemkin. The Circus performer with the hat that grows arms and does all her grappling moves for her is SUCH an I-No rip man, totally a rip off. Then how do you explain She-Zappa?...Try harder. The first girl - of who knows how many - to be revealed is clearly a homage, yes. But for the others, you're gonna have to try harder.
I see the Millia/Filia similarities in their names and that they both fight with their hair, but like Silence said, I think this is clearly meant to be a tribute to Millia's character. The I-No/Cerebella and Carl/Peacock comparison are reaching a bit, imho:

Admittedly, I haven't played any of the Guilty Gear games so the franchise isn't within my frame of reference, but I don't think anyone on the team is outright denying any Guilty Gear influences? Even Mike Z made that comparison (along with MvC and Darkstalkers). It looks great, so I'm not going to be upset if some elements can be compared to other games. It still has enough of it's own style as far as I'm concerned--and as long as the gameplay is tight, I'll be satisfied.
I just really wish we had more of the roster revealed and definitely would like to see more in-game action. I'm pretty curious about arcade mode and what the story is going to present for each character. ^^

Potemkin-hat certainly looked more I-No in-game, I'll say that, though the constant bending over to show her cleavage didn't help get a good look at her outfit. Concept still sounds way too similar, and I'm still seeing way too many similarities for comfort (almost carbon copies clothing-wise from the waist down, and her living hat has a skull face for cryin' out loud). Putting the pics side-by-side, though, Peacock is so Carl it hurts, right down to the color scheme, hairstyle, and various clothing choices (ripping off the metal plate on his top hat?! Really?!). Her character art leads me to believe she's going to fight using toys of some kind (akin to Carl's puppets), and supposedly she's an android, similar to Ada stainding right there behind Carl jesus fuck.
Peacock's arms remind me of that bland, souless, nonsense from Touhou Project. Other than that, loving the design work going into this game (thanks for the DeviantArt link, BTW).
It looks like alot of fun, and really, that's all I ask for.
