I think we should see those 2yrs of training just as the base of being even able to survive in the NW.
It`s not like he now has a huge advantage or anything like that..he just now can at least face them and has a chance, while on his journey he has still to grow and improve everyday to somehow get to the top.
It`s like with entering the GL..he had the talent and improved day by day and so overcome mighty opponents...
Now he has the base created to improve his fighting even more and to go against the real big names in this world.

Quick theory: With the Candy Factory being partially eaten in this chapter people are speculating Big Mam might appear. I think she'll save Fishman Island from Luffy's destruction. In the past to set up the status quo for strength, Oda's had characters preform feats and gotten there ass kicked.

To show how powerful the warlords were, Zoro fought Mihawk who used a knife to fight.

To show how powerful an enemy like Crocodile was, Luffy was beaten, twice!

To show how some Devil Fruits can counter others, Eneru was thrashing everybody until Luffy arrived.

And then when we were really becoming conscious of the strength of the most powerful ones, Aokiji took care of the Monster Trio with ease. Which led to Usopp realizing how weak they were compared to the real strong people in the world.

After Enies Lobby, every arc seemed to show how little they grew in retrospect to how powerful the REAL pirates and Marines were. Luffy was completely drained after fighting Moriah. The entire crew and Rolling Pirates and co. couldn't take down Kuma. A Pacifista nearly took down the crew, and Kizaru almost slaughtered them. Then we get Impel Down and Marineford where Nyon's phrase "He's like an ant in a storm" really became clear.

Now we are at a weird gray point. We know Luffy could take down the Pacifista's from years ago with ease. We've seen the crew doing amazing feats, but we don't know how strong they are in retrospect. We purposely got a villain who may have posed a big threat before the timeskip with his own strength(Vander) and an enemy who has the option of multiplying his strength multiple times, and we haven't seen him succumb to any side effects of the pills yet.

I think Big Mam is near by, and by the end of this arc, she'll arrive. I think Luffy's gonna destroy the island by destroying the Tree of Eve, which gives light to the Fishman. If Luffy destroys it, not only will there be no light, however the tree probably goes threw the bubble. I'm assuming it reaches the sunlight somehow(Another theory is that it goes threw the Redline and up to the top near Marejois to get light). If Luffy destroys it it may leave that hole in the bubble where it was to suck in water. This would cause the rest of the bubble to pop, and the island destroyed.

But wait! Who was shown to have a plant on their flag: Big Mam. Who do we predict might have some Devil Fruit that has to deal with plants: Big Mam. She might fix the tree as Luffy destroys it at the end of the arc. We don't know her motives at this point, but we know she wants her Candy Factory(Pills or just candy) and she MIGHT have a plant fruit, and the tree is shown to be very important.

I'd have to disagree. It makes the Straw Hats look pretty bad if they had to train their asses off for two years to even survive while Kidd & the others rushed right in and made it. I'm sure they struggled, don't get me wrong, but I think we should nevertheless expect them to still be present and doing pretty well. I'd rather say that because the SHs always face unusually tough opponents - you know, Shichibukai, Logia users, the government's top secret assassin group - instead of more middling pirate crews or Marines, the training was simply done so that they would be able to keep fighting those types of people like we're used to. Zoro actually said something like this (Aohige translation):

"Even if we impatiently rush for it, we're not ready to run through the New World!!"

Note that he says that they're not ready to "run through" the NW. As I see it they were not too weak to just be there, but they would've been harking about in a swamp of mediocrity instead of being exceptional. And if they'd tried to go about as normal anyway, they would lose instead of prevailing because they simply weren't strong enough and some or all of them might very well die, as the hard truths of Sabaody revealed. Compared to one of the stronger rival Supernovas, I'd say that Kidd might've fought a lot of more "average" folks over 2 years and now he's strong enough to take on some big shots... the SHs instead sat back and trained and now they're strong enough to take on similar big shots right as they enter, letting them remain exceptional in the eyes of the reader. Of course, these big shots aren't Admirals or Emperors, so don't get me wrong; they aren't at the top yet. But they're strong enough that they can go in and do very well, act the way they want to, instead of suddenly becoming hopelessly average and forced to greatly adapt or perish, and might very well perish anyway especially considering Luffy's recklessness.

I agree with you, i used the bad term "survive" in that context,which isn`t fitting.
When you read the rest of my post you may see that i just wanted to say that now after their training they won`t rush trough the first half of the NW.
They`re now just able to take on big names (created a base to fight them) but still have to improve a lot to achieve their goal and conquer that place..not just being around there doing fine,like other supernovae right now may do.

This isn't exactly a theory, but I want a scene of Bonney in Impel Down (since Blackbeard left her for the government just before the timeskip) where she escapes and turns Magellan into a kid. I also want an exact limit on her powers. Does she have to have touched the people she ages or is it a range thing like Law?

Doesn't seem like she needs to touch her victims, and she was standing on a roof with her crewmates while the marines on the ground below turned into kids and old men, so I suppose it works similar to Mero Mero and Noro Noro.
