Thread: Holy Hell's Music Dickery

    Default Holy Hell's Music Dickery

This is my musical dickery topic, where I'll post what I want when I want it.

[Removed Because I'm Bored Of It Now]

Bass, Vocals, Alarm Clock: Holy Hell
    Guitar: my friend Matt Massey.

This was a collaboration we did a week or so ago. I was going to add something to it a little more, but all of this school got in the way. So this is the final product basically. I really liked us together so we're gonna try and do a lot more.

    More to come...?

This is such a relaxing song.

I'm seriously putting this on my iPod.

Pretty nice piece that suits my lethargic state. The only real complaint I have is the vocals. I'm not complaining about the deepening of your voice, that effect is probably my favorite bit of the song and works well with it. The issue, I think, is the implementation. They feel off... Maybe because the deepening effect is so blatant. I'm not quite sure what I want to hear with it, though. Should it be higher or even deeper? Maybe it should be a natural voice, but the flaws of the effect also serve the piece... Should there be less vocals or more? If you can get that right, then this will be a really solid song.

Really good song. I don't know why but I didn't like the vocals too the first time I listened, but it grew on me after a couple of times.

I recorded a theme song to a friend of mine (he was on AP years ago as Captain Kuro, but I know him as Cyborg) when I was drunk not long ago and feeling emotional. I never got to touch it up due to my not having recording equipment presently so here it is

The point was to make it sound damp and dark and spacious like a cave (thus all the background sound effects), maybe contemplative, but moody especially. that probably doesn't sound very welcoming, or gift-like, but ... oh well.

it's just supposed to sound empty, really. Which is hard to get across. I wasn't sure how little guitar i needed and i think there was too much.

It was supposed to be like a video game theme song. Problems include the meandering and lack of closure during a sequence in the middle which was intentional at the time because it felt like a good concept, but doesn't sound good in execution. On the whole I give myself an C-, there are better drunk musicians imo

I like the guitar in your dark cavern-theme, but you should have hold the last tone of each set a bit longer, letting it die away into the nonentity.
That would make it kind of desolate and bleak, which would definitely underline the huge darkness surrounding you even more.
The beginning is also kind of strange, but like i said the rest is damn good.
