Bleach Discussion 0: Quinzis and the Hollowcaust

Kubo is Kabuto from Naruto.

Not only does the above has a nice rhyme, but also it's true! Kubo showed us many times that he's the main guy if it's about resurrecting dead characters and weak plot points.

True, they did mess up those footsoldiers quite handily, and I was rather taken a back when one of them was impaled through the head. Someone should be doing something while Ichigo takes his extremely sweet time to walk around the corner. It's just that I would care a lot more if I actually liked these characters, and their near instant fodderization sullies their brief badassaery somewhat. I just can't get as excited over them as Kubo tries to make me with his full-page drawings of their appearance and defeat; it'd be like if Oda reintroduced Nero with great fanfare, only to have Random New character throw him over the horizon next week.

I hate when manga spend time hyping up fodder characters, who we know are fodder because they have already been fodder previously, and then, surprise, they get owned like fodder.

It didn't make the Quinzi look any cooler Kubo. We knew they were fodder, no matter what kind of hype you tried to apply to them.

This is Kubo we are talking about. He does these things all the time. He was always good at hyping up characters, but then he fails to deliver on the hype when the time comes. Look at all the villains in the past, and you will see that he has been doing the same things over and over again. Even now, I don't have much hope for this arc. The buckbeard character is already hyped to no end, yet I am pretty sure that he will probably troll us somehow.

I think the Naruto and Bleach threads may need re-merging, more positive attitude or not. It's just not been the same the last two weeks.

I don't really see how a thread merger would affect have affected the flow of discussion. A debate on villain handling in Naruto wouldn't necessarily give better Nazi-Quincy jokes.

I'm with Daz on this one, can't we at least finish this thread first ? It's been forever since we started it. Can't we just have it as a proper discussion thread like it used to be, without the need to superglue it to something else "cause that's what we do with these two specific series" just to "possbly generate lulz" ? The merger made me aware of one or two bad things about Naruto, but didn't realy compliment the discussion, or further it in any way beyond simple comparisons people were making before and have been making since, and would be making for as long as both series remained relevant in people's heads, even after they ended.

Can't we just have a normal, snark filled thread for once ?

And merging the two won't make Chad do anything either way.

Since there is not much discussion about this weeks chap, so how about this new arc ?? Have you liked the arc so far and how much expectations do you have for this arc?? Kubo in his interview has said he will be introducing the royal guard and explaining Ichigo's powers in detail as well. So, what are your thoughts??

Well, seeing as how they didn't mass-kill/purify Hollows in Hueco Mundo after the war, I guess their genocide skills need an improvement.

Mayuri said he killed most of them, but the quincies died out 200 years ago.

He wasn't a captain until a hundred years after after that.
