Thread: Lollipop Chainsaw

I'd feel bad if the game does badly myself, but even then... I don't typically buy games new and freshly released. I always give them a while to be affordable. Especially since I no longer work at the moment.

So, I'm hoping it receives decent enough scores and sales. Not expecting anything spectacular as I'm sure the devs themselves do as well.

I would think the maximum hope would pretty much be hoping it does as good as No More Heroes does.

No More Heroes - 500,000 worldwide
    No More Heroes 2 - 300,000 worldwide
Shadows of the Damned - 240,000 worldwide

Pretty sad that SotD, despite being on 2 consoles instead of 1, sold the least. It isn't fair these games don't sell. I hope Suda stays strong and true to his game design despite it all. Tho if Suda ever made a FPS I'd probably play it hard despite my dislike for the genre.

It seems like they have a thing where they make original games, and if they need to get funding again, they make anime-licensed games to get money back.

I'd like to see Suda51's take on a first person shooter, besides the FPS segments in Killer 7.

Speaking of, I feel the need to play that game again.

I need to play it, I own it but haven't. Feels shameful to call myself a Suda fan until I do. Bulletstorm seems like a Suda FPS lol.

I guess the reason is people don't like something new and creative nowadays.

I still not played No More Heroes (can't find the Wii version anymore and I heard the PS3 version is a major downsized version of it) but Shadows of the Damned I waited on, and no matter what I did I just couldn't get into it. Mainly because I hate puzzles where you start dying after a while anyways. And there was just too many things that just didn't feel right with it. It wasn't a bad game it just didn't feel better than most other things out there.

Although to be honest it was that Biggest Boner section that I stopped playing on. Failed about 20 times, got sick of the cutscenes and put the game down. Never went back to it.

And if I felt Shadows of the Damned was average, I'll certainly be waiting until Lollipop is reduced before tackling it. Although it also depends on what state June/July is for other releases. If we don't have many other releases then than I'll probably pick it up anyways

The Big Boner segment is suppose to be frustrating, that's... why it was made. Suda is infamous for often putting such moments in his games as a way to "troll" the player, but he does it out of love so it's okay. Example, there was a side-job in No More Heroes that was dreadful and people complained about it.

He copypasted it into No More Heroes 2 and made it worse. XD

Maybe they feel it'll sell more there? Don't Suda51 games usually sell more in the west? Or am I wrong on that?

This could be Suda best seeling title just based on the concept appeal.

Can I play this game as a punk rock zombie or a viking metal zombie mowing down hordes of ravenous cheerleaders? I would pay for that game.

You suggesting you wouldn't pay for THIS game?

Something irks me about a game where I kill all of my favorite characters as my least favorite character.

The villains are suppose to be cooler than the protagonist. Kinda a rule of thumb in most media.
