As Outerspec stated above, the 4Kids version skipped Little Garden completely. The crew went straight from "Misty" Peak to Drum...

No Broggy or Dorry, thus thoroughly ruining any chance that the Oimo/Kashii duo in Enies Lobby would have made sense, had they gotten that far.
No Mr. 3 or Ms. Goldenweek, though the former inexplicably was left in for his brief role in Alabasta...

Similarly, they also skipped the entirety of the Twin Capes portion with Crocus, Mr. 9 and Ms. Wednesday/Vivi (though obviously this pair resurfaced at "Misty" Peak), and turned Laboon into an iceberg...

No, actually, he's got a pretty rockin' manly voice in other roles: Sawada's father in Gokusen, a general named Yamashita in one of the Capt. Tylor OVAs, etc. Reminds me of some kinda alternate Steven Blum. He was just terribly, TERRIBLY miscast and directed as Sanji, 'is all.

I've seen a few of the images like what's in the original post, but I had never seen any video clips. But, RoboBlue and Al made sure I got a full dose of torture when they found out. I'm honestly quite horrified at the travesty 4Kids created... O_o

Yeah, don't get Pirates Carnival or Grand Adventure. The only english version of a One Piece game worth getting IMO is Unlimited Adventure for the Wii since Funimation dubbed it and because it's a great game, but it is rare to find now.

This I cannot understand. It's a flintlock pistol. Most kids play with more realistic toy guns than this! It's stupid especially in place of an antiquated gun that fits the era the show is going for. That's like taking guns out of police or western cartoons. Or ray-guns out of space cartoons.

Argh! Smoker smokes. It's part of his character description and his name, even if they did change it to Chaser. He still kept his smoking abilities, hence the reason smoke is coming from his mouth. Also, if they want to do the whole editing thing they should be consistent and not miss scenes... like they did. If you're going to do it, do it right.

Little Garden? Sounds boooring!
Granted, at the time they had no idea that this would come back to haunt them. The CP9 saga had either just began or wasn't started when they got to this point but still, as someone else said, this is not an anime where bits can be cut out without considering that they might come back to stab them in the face. The least they should have done was asked a Toei representative to ask Oda if that part was necessary or not. Or just kept it in. Especially considering how it affects Usopp's character development.

I never saw the Usopp joining arc so I never got to see the magical chakram or Kaya's slingshot... thank God. It's ridiculous that they'd think a slingshot (or hammer... -_-;) would pose enough of a threat to someone like Kuro to use as a sort of bargaining chip. Especially in the hands of someone who hasn't used one before.

And again, an important part cut out 'just because'. Especially a cute character that they could merchandise the hell out of. Bad business sense there, 4Kids.

I'm sure Crocodile lets all of his employees carry a weapon that could severely weaken him with an accidental misfire... NOT! Oh, and the Marines are soooo gonna catch a lot of pirates by squirting them with water. I could understand if all pirates were fruit users, or Crocodile, but considering that they didn't realise Croc was a bad guy... -_-; Again, it's not like they're carrying bloody machine guns or uzis or sawn-off shotguns to begin with anyway! Flintlock period weaponry shouldn't need to be edited. How hard is it to get your hands on one, let along use it properly.

Now, don't get me wrong, I hated TristanSanji's voice in the dub as much as the next person, but I can understand that they wanted to stick with someone they knew. I can understand, but it doesn't mean I liked.*

I am Australian. What does this mean? It means I only saw One Piece when it was shown on my brothers Pay TV. The first episode I ever saw of OP was during the Alabasta arc - the filler with the sandship. My first thought was 'WTF is this? This is what passes for anime these days? Look at that animation. Pfft! Naruto is so much better than this shit!'. I dropped the idea of ever wanting anything to do with One Piece.
A few months after, I was surfing OneManga (before its reform) and managed to come across a recommendation thread. I'd caught up on Bleach and Naruto, read a bit of some other manga and was looking for something that would hold my interest. Someone had mentioned OP as an awesome read that was long and lots of fun. I was, of course, skeptical of this. Afterall, wasn't that the manga that anime with the weird animation and terrible characters with annoying voices based on? Never-the-less, I was bored and decided, why not give it a go?

I have since given up on reading Bleach, I still keep track of Naruto, but my only manga love is One Piece. It is the only one I read seriously, religiously and I can say that I might not be here today if it weren't for this manga. Now, I know that sounds very melodramatic, but I'm going to share something very personal today.

A few years ago, I was very suicidal. I still have bad days but not as bad as I once was. Back then I was desperate for anything to make me hold on one more day. I knew feeling that way was - not stupid or anything, but not right, either. So I was very desperate. It was thanks to OP that I managed to hold on. Every time I thought 'let this be over', I remembered that I still hadn't found out what was wrong with Robin, or what would happen to the Mugiwara's without their shadows, or how they were going to save Caimie, or if Luffy would be able to find Ace or escape Impel Down. It gave me a reason to want to wait another week, just one more (mind you, waiting extra weeks when Oda was sick or taking time off were especially torture-some, but I managed to get by, re-reading the manga or watching the subbed anime). And I think back now and wonder at just how close I was to doing something very, very stupid. If I hadn't picked up OP I don't think I'd still be alive today. Naruto is fine, but it doesn't draw me in. D.GrayMan is okay, but I don't care about the characters that much. FMA is great but it's not as charming and engaging.

I love OP and I think I always will. And because of 4kids stupid dub I nearly passed it over completely.
