This is the happiest day of my life....
Can't...can't hold back the tears....

Wait-wait-wait! Only as a digital release?
Are you for real, Bandai? This had better be a joke.
Oh happy day, but damn I gotta make room on my PS3...I only got 25GB on my 80GB console..
Next week the meteor destroys everything.
7 years later a boy staring at the sea.
Konohamaru's adventure begins.
Thats more than enough room, a game say like infamous took about 7000 MB on my system and oddworld strangers wrath took about 3000. Id assume this game will be around the 5 or 6k mb range.
With this being digital supposedly because of SCEA's rule on no retail releases for games without a dub, i gotta wonder how yakuza of all games gets away with it while no other can?

I seriously hope that fan reaction can prompt Bandai to give this game a proper retail release.
They're practically setting this game up to fail if they only give it a digital release.
In their mind the might be practically setting it up to fail if it gets a retail physical release.
Fact is "One Piece" games haven't exactly sold well here so I can see why this is digital only. Then again a limited release exclusive to Gamestop wouldn't hurt.
Still, I have to wonder why Siliconera said they're talking to retailers if this game is exclusive to PSN.
Got really excited when I saw stateside release, then my excitement went down when I read November 2012 then down again when I read digital only release...
But still great news that we are getting an at least english subbed release.
I really don't care if it is digital only the fact is it is getting American release. That is more than enough for me.

Exactly, it's been four years since a string of "One Piece" games has come out that haven't taken off. There may be a stronger fanbase but I don't see any raw data that it's really grown and more importantly would buy the video games. It's possible a retail release would do well but hey it's just a business decision based on data.
And again, Siliconera is reporting they're in talks with retailers, yet Namco Bandai is saying on their Facebook it's digital-only. So I really don't know what the deal is.
EDIT: Actually what am I saying? As far as retail they were probably just referring to Europe.

Yea i wish someone would clear it up once and for all about its status. I sure hope they arent taking kens rage as a possible example since that game managed to get a physical release yet its fanbase is pretty small overhere, although they made an xbox version so thats probably the only way they could see profit on that version anyway by bringing it here.

I really wish I hadn't had a chance to read the report earlier today; then I wouldn't have had time to muse over how great it'd be to hear Brook, Jinbe, Hancock and Ivankov among other in English early. Now I have time to post and read all this...
To be honest, I'm not against digital releases of retail games at all. Granted, I wish the prices were a bit better, but I only have a Wii, and I sometimes wish I was brave enough to mod it and digitize my library to safeguard against scratches and whatnot. Also, I won't be able to buy the game even if I wanted to just show my support, since it'll only be on PSN on a PS3 I don't have.
But just like the DVDs before, I urge all of you who can afford it to buy the game, whatever the format and whatever may be missing, for the sake of the franchise's future on the gaming marketplace. If it does well here despite all the flaws, it may be enough to prompt a more suitable release for the next big game, one that hopefully everyone can enjoy.

So... could people just be reading this wrong?
Namco Bandai is discussing distribution plans with retailers, and talking to Sony for a digital release.
That is how I read it.
Either way... I plan to get it to support the domestic release in hope that we will get more One Piece games in the US.
I'm not seeing the outrage with the digital thing...it means you don't have to get up and out of your house to get your game. It means Gamestop WON'T run out of copies forcing you to buy used or eBay ones for outrageous prices. Perhaps it does take up a bit of space, but how many of all those games do you play?
I got my PS3 just about a month or so ago, so I guess maybe I don't see a problem with it because I've got plenty of room and very few games :P.
Well, we'll have to see what happens.
Also, a digital-only release might mean that the game will get very little marketing or promotions.
I really hope they weren't only thinking about Europe for a retail release.
It also means that the chances of casual fans and newcomers buying the game will probably be slightly diminished.

How so? Is there really such a stigma against digital downloads? It's probably better that sales are slightly diminished for a digital release that only slightly boosted for a retail release that may not make up the costs in resources.
We just have to face it: One Piece games are on probation, so it's gotta do well here with limited leeway in order to renew faith in the future of the franchise.
Like somebody said before, it'll be retail disc for UK/EU. Like Warriors Orochi 3 was. So people can just import it anyways if they absolutely need a disc.

Ugh, I really hope Europe get's it retail. Namco-Bandai's FB post doesn't make that clear and I can't tell if that's N-B USA or Europe.
But, PSN-only makes a dub more unlikely, which is OK with me, but I can see it sucking for others. On the other hand, it makes my wish for a 360 port all the more unlikelier, too.
What about people who don't have the internet to get them? My internet is pretty damn slow and I can't even connect it to my PS3.

The whole first paragraph is pretty unreadable xD. They don't mention whether it's retail or PSN.

Why are some people here so angry that they are getting an English version of this game? Seriously, it's like some of you would be complaining no matter what version you get, just deal with it and enjoy the game.
