Similarities in personality are ok with me. Not inheriting special abilities that will lead to success. Destiny is one of the most overused plot lines and I thought OP was free of it. I was very wrong.

P.S. I don't think Zkaiser is talking about that. Him being destined to be a Pirate king in his belief has nothing to do with destiny itself but simply it being a shounen manga. On the other hand he is annoyed with unnecessary links like the straw hat he has. It takes away from the unique person Luffy is.
His smile is almost the same, he hears the voice of all things, he goes by the path Roger took, he deals with stuff in the same way and he even wears the same "stupid" hat.

I think that is what Zkaiser is talking about. That it adds nothing of positive to the entire character of Luffy in fact it would be much more interesting if he was unique and diffrent from Roger. Not to mention that if he has the same will and destiny and so on, he might end up on the execution platform as well (oh well he did once, but you know what I mean)

God, I love how Oda makes more Robin related jokes after the time skip. He sorta showed some at Thriller Bark (Kuma's paws or Robin refusing to do the docking) but recently we get a lot of them. Her seriousness is adorable and really nicely plays with some jokes.

As for Jimbe? I'm okay with him. Oda rarely does things I'm getting mad about, I mean, it's just a comic people, get mad about things that do matter. Just go with the flow and enjoy the ride. :)

Swell chapter, Luffy being able to hear the Seakings, like Roger, is really cool. I guess we'll be seeing a lot more of Roger bits from now on.
