I wasn't judging the characters on their looks; rather, it'd just be a huge failure if two characters labeled as simply "fighter" were good enough to outdo the monster trio. Maybe the plot could justify Pekoms and Tamago being better than Zoro and Sanji, but almost nothing could justify them being stronger than those two + Luffy put together.

Lol, I can't see how O2BT could argue that they we're stronger than the monster trio. Theres no way they're that strong their just messengers. Though that doesn't mean they can't fight. I would like to think they wouldn't back off after Luffy just threatened their boss.

I know all the Straw Hats are "fighters", but this is the second crew to have. "fighter" as a position.
Could Zoro or maybe Jinbe when he joins have the position of "fighter" in the crew?

I think you answered your own question. Jenbe maybe but if Sanji didn't get that title when all he does is start fights and cook than I don't think it's a title that could apply to the strawhats. Maybe when they get bigger then they'll have titles like that. Zoro is the swordsman of the crew that should remain his title.

However, one can say that a swordsman is a specialized type of fighter. So both "fighter" and "Swordsman" would both fit Zoro.

We can't just play with the word fighter. Zoro's job specifically is to fight other swordsman. He does other things like everyone else but would you call Usopp a figher or a sniper? If there is anybody that could be a "fighter" it's robin since archologist isn't really a position on a pirate ship.

At least Sanji and Robin have a definite role or position. Only reaso why I'm not set on just "swordsman" is just because there hasn't been an "official" role like that yet.

It's funny you should ask that. Just as I opened viz's volume 60 where characters relevant to the story are given descriptions, Zoro is labeled as fighter. I wouldn't be surprised if Jinbe isn't given much of a title beyond that either.

Being labeled as a swordman may be true for Mihawk, but for Zoro and for example Vista, the official title in a piratecrew should be called simply "fighter".
Zoro is for sure still aiming for the title best swordman, but right now he proved more than once that he is a full part of the crew and nothing else.
Jinbe will be in the end labeled the same but just like Zoro he will help with smaller stuff(like setting sails etc)which intigrates him as working part of the crew.
