I think Sting's a douche. Rogue reminds me of Nagato (I know how dare I compare a Naruto character to another manga, Naruto sucks... blah blah blah stfu) in looks and the fact he seems sympathetic towards FT. I do want to see Natsu beat the piss out of Sting, but well all know Sting is gonna be hax because he has lacrima and learned DS magic (Natsu has lightning too, for some reason he still can use it... which makes no sense) and most importanly he killed the dragon that taught him. Must of been a weak ass dragon. Yeah but Sabretooth is going to be hax and probably in the midst of one of the FT vs Sabertooth battles it will be interrupted (like a certain other series).

Eh, I bet Sabertooth earned their fans over the time skip by winning the tournament over and over so I doubt this isn't something they haven't seen before anyway, at least from Minerva.

What about the Dog Race in the beginning? Even though they thought it was part of the act, there was one spectator that said even if it was real, it doesn't matter because they're on death row. I don't know about you, but that was a bit sadistic...

Sabertooth isn't filled with pushovers by any means. There's a reason why they're the strongest guild in the world and they earned their large following. I don't think Sting and Rogue are going to be hax. If they're good it's only because they're that damn bad. As far as them being douches for killing their dragons that's sort of their job. That's what dragon slayers do. If they aren't emotional about it it's because they aren't supposed to be. Dragon slayers slay dragons. As far as the match goes Minerva did that to get back at Fairy Tail for Natsu's attack on THEIR guild. Like it or not, Natsu brought this on himself. He attack Sabertooth the same way Gajeel and his crew attacked Fairy Tail a few arcs ago. Natsu stuck his nose where it didn't belong, he attacked Sabertooth because he didn't like how they ran their guild and Minerva didn't forget about that. I like Natsu but I'm not giving him a pass because really he brought this on the guild. This was revenge. Minerva doesn't take kindly to having her guildmates beat up.

I kind of agree with you guys about Sabertooth being the forced High School bullies. I appreciate Hiro trying to give us a tournament of douchebags, but it IS possible to give douchebags some character depth outside of "I AM ASSHOLE".

I find it really unlikely that Sting and Rogue outright killed their dragons, especially seeing as how Natsu did fuck-all to Acnologia. Either they're full of straight-up BS or they're mistaken somehow (like they tried picking a fight with their dragons, got knocked out, and when they awoke they were gone, 'cause it was the day all the dragons disappeared).

That was something I never understood. Why it was called Dragon Slayer magic. Didn't the dragons teach them how to use it? What would be the point in teaching someone how to kill you? How would dragons be beaten by a technique they could probably use on a larger scale?

Besides Acnologia, what's the last real reference to the dragon storyline? The meeting of the dragons?

Probably. At least Acnologia should serve as a way to eventually tie the dragons and Zeref storylines together. Whenever that will be.

this is probably already been said but there are so many 7's in this series. The dragon's disappeard on the 7/7 i believe. The timeskip was also 7 years long. I can't remember how much time it had been since the dragons left and the series began but wasn't it also 7. Theres obviously a theme there

it has also been said that its most likely 7 dragons and dragon slayer types and that lucy's mom is most likely a dragon because she died the same year natsu's dragon disappeared.

It's been made clear it's a theme multiple times within the manga itself.

lucy's mom is most likely a dragon because she died the same year natsu's dragon disappeared.

So Lucy's mother would be a dragon celestial wizard disguised as a female human that got knocked up and gave birth to a fully human daughter?

I've never heard anyone here even entertain the idea of that. Obviously there's a connection but...she doesn't have to actually be a dragon.

Really cool twist IMO since they are one guild and should fight to their best. Especially since it's not the typical Natsu/Grey/Erza/Lucy-team. Finally we could say FT's strongest mages are on the frontline! Except Gildarts ofc
