I read this chapter a second time skipping everything with Natsu, and it was even better! I freaking love this lizardman design.

A flaw though is...I really dont care about anything else this chapter. I don't even remember the name of this knight guy. Wasn't he a member of Raven Tail? He's pretty boring.

Huh, looks like the anime's finally going to have an honest-to-goodness filler arc with honest-to-goodness filler villains and honest-to-goodness filler plot instead of just the gag one-shots it usually does. Perfect time for one I guess, it'll make the three-months of ''training'' look a lot less dumb.

Yeah, and because he's boring there's a great chance of him begin the true villain in this arc. Amazing!

Not gonna lie, I really liked this chapter. Though this plot is headed into the cliche damsel in distress, the tournament is becoming a bit more interesting for me. Though I'm not a big Elfman fan, he had some good moments this time. Props to the nod to Rob Lucci and the lizardman design.

I hope the cover doesn't indicate that Gajeel and some other guild members won't be in the movie. I mean I like the main cast, but I want some side characters as well.

The anime needs a filler arc so badly right now. Honestly, I'm amazed they managed to do the last arc with hardly any filler other than some implied filler.

Which is a good thing. I just love Rob Lucci and thought of it immediately, but anyone trying to claim he is ripping off Oda is foolish this time around. I would call it a silent nod among two manga artists and nothing more, and I liked it for Elfman's design as well.

I'm glad Elfman actually won. Like, actually won. For real. By himself. Unfortunately Bacchus himself was a real letdown, I expected a lot more out of him I guess.

Still a better Fairy Tail arc than usual.

Pretty happy that Elfman won just by using his own strength, through legitimate means and everything. Not really sure how this Bacchus guy can be an important part of the arc now though, if he was beaten by Elfman then....what else can he do really? Apart from that, not much to comment on, apart from more "Mwahaha! Our plan is even nearer completion!" pointlesness.

All of the comments i've been reading for chapter reviews on youtube have been absolutely negative on this particular chapter saying that the chapter was the worse chapter to come out. Most of them are complaining that Elfman beat Bachus and that Erza didn't fight. These complaints make Thousand Lion's look like gold.

He's on par with jobbing Erza who always has to let a guild member of inferior rank to fight the arc boss because of plot, not the actual competent Erza, which exists between arcs when Natsu isn't around.

Gotta admit they hold weight. Hype the dude up to be on par with Erza. Then hype it up for him vs. Erza. Then make him fight Elfman and lose to Elfman who should technically get his ass handed to him by Erza, Bacchus's equal.

In his defense he was getting his ass kicked until he actually used strategy, something that Fairy Tail members have generally avoided in the past.
