They've also gone out of their way to explain things more. For example, Den explaining that all ships that crash into Fishman Island eventually end up at the Sea Forest, and that the Sunny would be there. I remember when we first saw Franky in the manga he was already there with Den for no explained reason at all.
Him being shown going down there also helps to establish that this is a different place some distance from FI, same as the fishman district. A lof of people were really confused about this with the manga. Let's just hope the anime stays at this pace and quality.

From a visual perspective, the anime is doing a great job. I think they improved the Luffy, Ace and Sabo flashback.

we see Zoro about to fight Hody. That was proably one of the best moments of this arc.

Great episode, loved the interactions of the new fishmen pirates and decken. I like the stuff they showed us that we didnt see before like the human pirates getting launched as well as franky and den in the taxi. Nice touches here and there which fill in the gaps are good stuff IMO, id say the best example of that is the episode when luffy returns to marineford.

I find rather interesting that One Piece is the only weekly serie I can think of that can fill a whole episode with only a chapter without it filling tedious or boring

I was a couple minutes into the actual episode when I realized I was watching it for the second time. The hell? Whatever, was bored with this episode and found it very forgettable apparently. Preview for next week has me excited though!

Inoue is one of the best animators, you'd think they'd save the best for the action parts, but next chapter/episode is mostly exposition and exploring.

From what I've heard Inoue is only average when it comes to animation, but sometimes he has great animators like Shida, Tomita, Kuroyanagi and the like working with him. However, as far as i know, none of these guys have worked on his episodes since episode 484. His art style on the other hand, is very similar to Oda's.

Anyway, this week's episode was OK, my favourite part would have to be Sanji's and Chopper's scene. I really enjoyed seeing Sanji kick ass without the use of Diable Jambe for a change, even if it is an anime-only scene.
