To be fair, even thought Bleach's anime is coming to an end, doesn't mean the final arc won't get animated. Depending on how long it is it could be made into an OVA. Or hell, even a movie.

Its a little sad that Bleach is ending on such a terrible note. The soul society arc was one of my favorite things to watch.

So I was reading some early Bleach, and something occured to me.

Back when Byakuya and Renji first came to bring Rukia back to the Soul Society, Renji was kind of a douche. He had no problem attacking Rukia, and certainly wasn't going to go easy on her just because she was a girl.

But observe the following pages.

Renji's sudden chivalry didn't come out of nowhere. Kubo just mixed him up with Uryuu.

What's also surprising about that page is that a Bleach character responded to another Bleach character's dialogue without shouting or acting "Herp Derp".

Probably, but the manga will sure lose a lot of its popularity, it might get cancelled before Kubo's expectation. So, it's a really good news.

Hmmm yeah. Good point. Also it does seem weird that Renji was so active in capturing Rukia since he went through all the trouble to follow her into the Shinigami ranks anyways. Wasn't he gonna look after her or something? It amused me so much how far he'd go to try and get Byakuya's attention or whatever.

Also I miss the art looking like this. They clearly have different faces. :/

Yeah, if I remember correctly, he basically gave up on trying to protect her because he felt he was too weak, and tried to convince himself she deserved to be executed in order to justify his inactivity. I remember I kinda liked him and I really liked Bleach at that moment. Good ol' times.

Maybe it was just me, but I wasn't expecting Sasuke and Itachi to team up. More surprised that it was spoiled on the first page.

As for the chapter, I didn't mind the kage part, but I did find it funny Itachi was like "okay, we'll talk, after we stop the jutsu keeping me alive."
Funnier since Sasuke was like "keep your promise this once" without thinking about that. I'm really hoping Itachi is trolling right now.

Kubo only lasted 4 chapters after a 3 week break? Drawing a main villain who isn't Aizen must be a terrible strain.
