Fishman Island: Racism and drugs.
Punk Hazard: Weapons of mass destruction, children kidnapping, human experimentation and more drugs.

Note that he started doing this sort of stuff during Skypiea (territorial disputes). Political corruption is pretty obvious. And I guess Wano Country would be a perfect opportunity to portray Xenophobia.

It depends what you mean by "tackling" yes he uses them in a lot of his stories but I don't think he ever goes really in depth into the problems in a real world context. Which is fine, its not that kind of story, I just don't want us to try and see things that just aren't really there like Bleach fans

Moriah stealing shadows is worse because they would die if they went out during the day also the kids get free candy and get to be giants so they're not going to get picked on if they go back to their islands also its a funny arc with them changing body's lol.

Brook really is a cross between Zoro with his sword fighting and Sanji being a pervert also Luffy likes him for his music/songs.

You forgot the part where the giant kids are drug addicts that can't go back to their homes because they would kill everybody there due to the fact that they go batshit insane if there's no drugs around to keep them at bay, effectively turning them into threats to anything that gets near them because of their gigantic size.

Try seeing the big picture before posting this kind of stuff.

Magellan lost to Blackbeard and a HORDE of some of the most dangerous human beings on the OP world. That he's still alive and just lost a wing, a (fake) horn and has a scar up his face, I'd say he's pretty much certified badass (as if we didn't know that already. . .). Oh, and Saldeath was basically in the last cover as a Red Herring: we all thought HE was the new vice-warden; who would've thought it was Magellan, demoted?

This chapter was great. . .but kinda uncomfortable. I mean, hell. Experimenting on kids? Giving them meth to make them, basically, junkies? The hell, man. This was DARK. Not that I'm complaining, of course.

2 more thoughts:

-Zoro, Sanji AND Brook losing against two new guys? Without any sing of a fight? Yeah, right. Of course they used some trick. Since sleeping gas seems to be the new trend (satyrs, Usopp), I'd say, why not? Sleeping gas for now. When Oda states something else, I'll believe it.

-Yeti Cool Bros being Shachi and Penguin: they could've been experimented on, are 2, act like bros all the time, have a "cool" theme (both "cold", you know, Orcas and Penguins, and "cool", what with their hats and glasses), and even the silhouettes show the shape of their hats. Ok. But it just doesn't sound right with me. Why should CC order them around as HIS underlings? With LAW right besides him?? And be them giants or wathever, they just didn't seem that reliable before (one of them even almost fainted from Rayleigh's Haki), and now CC says "maybe I went overboard sending them", like their incredibly strong. I mean, CC knows the SH's defeated the dragon, right?? And that their VERY high bounties are outdated and should be even bigger than what they are, too??

I don't know. But I just can't wait for next chapter. . .and it's still quite far away. Shit.

Thank you for seeing its laughable and we are nto serious.
That is the point behind saying its Johhny and Yosaku. We people who said its them are just using sarcasm to poke fun at all the leaps at people saying "it HAS to be so-and-so!" We know its none of them, not Johnny & Yosaku, nor is it Penguin & Shachi of the Heart Pirates. After all Oda did give a info box that identifies them and the Yeti Cool Brothers, he would not do that if it was a returning character that has a different name.
It is silly to say the Cool Brothers are so and so so we poke fun at it.

Impel Down draws paralells with= wrongful imprisonment and abuse of power of those over the prisoners. There are mentions of silencing political opponents.

I have a feeling Vegapunk will be just as messed up as CC. I mean...didn't he create Pacifistas out of Human corpses? Excluding Kuma, of course. I have a feeling that every doctor and scientist the Strawhats encounter over the course of the series are going to be weird or (somewhat) batshit crazy.

As far as we know the Pacifistas are created from living humans, and our only solid example Kuma actually "volunteered" to get modified, so far nothing unethical.

CC on the other hand has already been portrayed as willing to kill his own subordinates for the sake of science, as well as drug and physically modify children, which is obviously not voluntary. In addition the people from Vegapunk's home island have said that he is a person who cared about others and wanted to use his technology to improve people's lives. It may in fact turn out that Vegapunk is not as rosy as he is currently portrayed, but I find it hard to believe that he will be worse than CC.

But Vegapunk did destroy Kuma's humanity when he completed the PX alterations, inclindign the mind destroying his personality. That is pretty messed up as well.

Edit= it does not matter if Kuma"volunteered" for remodeling. It is unethical to destry someone' personality and their humanity.

1.) It should be such an easy thing to understand but i think i´ll never get how and when the chapters around Golden Week are released.

2.) We finally get to see the purpose of the kids being on the island, they are made into rampaging giants. It would be interesting to know if the experiments of CC work better on children or if they were chosen because they are easier to handle than adults. Although Oda addressed pretty dark matters in OP before this arc (slavery, racism etc.), i have to agree with most of you that the manga reached a new level of cruelty. I guess Oda´s statement that the manga post timeskip would be darker and more mature was not just for show.

3.) I guess this chapter again showed one of Oda´s many talents. Though such a serious matter was revealed in this chapter (kids being drugged and experimented on) he still didn´t fail to include comedic relief where it didn´t feel misplaced at all. Especially Franky in Chopper´s body and Robin´s comments on that were the highlights regarding the funny moments. Chopper going into rage about the experiments and the drugs was another highlight, reminded me of Thriller Bark where Chopper was very angry and disappointed in Hogback treating life, just shows that despite his cute and funny behaviour most of the time he has a strict moral code on which he doesn´t have any hesitation to act upon.

4.) Zoro, Brook and Nanji get taken out pretty easily. I refrain on commenting on that since we still don´t know how they were knocked out, there was definitely no fight though. The Cool Brothers seem interesting fighters, i would like a fight between them and the Samurai Kinemon. Also, seeing how relaxed Law behaves in the presence of CC makes it much more likely, at least for me, that he is acting on his own account cooperating with CC. I really hope that he will fight the SH, especially a fight between him and Zoro would be interesting to see.

Vegapunk will probably have a Deus Ex-like (the game series Deus Ex) arc. He seems to love his cybernetic technology. It will be the debate that: "Is Human cybernetic augmentation wrong?" "Is it wrong that a non-augmented Human loses his job to an augmented Human, simply because the augmented Human performs faster at a task; and the non-augmented Human is forced to get augmented if he is to compete (and survive)?" For example: A Pacifista is far more capable than a standard marine, just use them and fire the marine etc. etc. etc. That...and he'll explain the origin/how Devil Fruit work.
