Just a question, do any of you think Kingdom Hearts has a deep and mature story?

Yes, it's hidden in Disney Castle. Not since Bleach have I seen such cohesiveness, such attention to detail, and so little tendency to stick its head up its own ass in a story.

The thing is,KH was ALWAYS made to have a deep and mature story (like almost all animes).Sometimes,and some people just don't get that.The story is made to be dificult to follow,cause it is more rewarding like this....but I do agree,the roxas arc,and SPOILER:the young master xehanort time traveling arc(from Dream Drop distance) are a bit complicated.

Not sure if that statement is sarcarsm so sorry for the rant if it was.

1. This is an absolutely horribly wrong statement to make. Even if we'd assume that "almost all" would be at the very least mean 80% of all anime created from japan that statement would still be wrong. Just consider some of the recent trends within anime and you'll see why this statement can't be further from the truth. Well at the very least if you really understand the definition of mature. Also "almost all" sounds like something more akin to around 95%.

2. That is the saddest excuse for bullshit writing I've ever heard. In the world of storytelling "complex" does not equal "hard to follow".
Good writers can and do write stories that are easy to follow but complex, deep and emotional at the same time.
If there is a point where the person in question can't follow along most times it's not because the he/she is stupid it's because of the lack of skill on the writers part.

I can empathize why one would believe Kingdoms Hearts story to be better/mature/deeper than it is because I also believed that due nostalgia but before birth by sleep got released I thought I'd freshen up my memory and the truth is Kingdom hearts is a convoluted mess of a story.
It's also a story born in a time where the majority of creator's believed that gameplay should always serve the story and never the other way around, heck we still live in a time where this is a pretty wide spread opinion, but we've seen and will see probably more games come out that prove that no element has to serve the other and both can harmonize to bring forth something very special.

Time travel... As if the story isn't convoluted enough?

I admit that the story has it's decent moments. Most recently for me was Aqua happily crying at the fact that Sora was the one to save the worlds. That was touching. But beyond that? Depth? Mature emotion? No. Not really.

Hikari E, with or without visuals, makes me cry like a baby, though.
