Welcome to AP. Hope you have a great time.
Obviously since you're here, you like One Piece, but I'm sure you have other interests too. A good place to start is to find a thread about a topic you're interested in, then talk to some of the other people there. You already know you share something in common with them, and I assure you they are nice people (well, most of them anyway :P).
It is not uncommon at all to feel a little shy when you first join. I was the same way when I joined, which wasn't that long ago. But once you get over that initial hump, and you can start comfortably talking to people and start making friends, it all gets better from there.
