The first part of next week's episode title seems to be a bit, insensitive doesn't it? When I first read it, it sounded more like, BACK TO THE PRESENT! ALRIGHT, FINALLY! NUFF WAHWAH TIME FOR KICKBUTT ACTION AGAIN, WHOO!

I guess I am the only one who disliked this episode. :( I'm not sure why people are so favorable about the animation quality; there was so little of it. They just put a lot of watercolour-style pannings in there, but that's not animation. And particularly jarring to me were the way the two princes tried to cheer up Shirahoshi; for example take the one that kept looking left-right-left-right. It was three keyframes going back and forth and no animation inbetween. Yes, these princes are idiotic-looking, and yes, they also act like idiots.. but that doesn't mean the animation itself should look this stupidly unrefined. Those are facial expressions that are _meant_ to be emotional and convey said feeling to the viewer.. but it was closer to being treated like a bunch of silly extras.

Less shiny-anime-eyes-with-tons-of-pretty-detail , less bright water-colours and more animation please.

P.S.: Story-wise they did a pretty decent adaptation of the manga, no complaints there.

I get the complaints, but personally, I grew up with those audio read-along books, so even not-so-animated eps are good enough for me as long as they're at least drawn and acted well.

Alright.. I cried. Only time anime's made me tear up since Merry, I might add. Very well done; no complaints.

I noticed they left out Hody showing the "culprit gunner", which, if I recall, was almost a few panels right after she was shot. Guess they wanted to keep it all in a dramatic mood? Seems like something they ought to NOT leave out regardless.

Also no pseudo Nami fishwoman or Kaimi and Pappug as kids.

That's from the next chapter; episode ended right where the chapter did, with the pinkie promise (with the hand falling added after.)

Ugh, I forgot about Caimie and Pappug missing. Stinks three times as much now.

They didn't skip that. The episode went right up to the end of chapter 626 and that scene didn't happen until 627. It should be at the beginning of next week's episode.

Anyway, very good second half. Whoever was the director certainly earned his kudos. Only thing that took me out of the mood was my immature self playing the ''guess which orifice blood will trickle out of next'' game.
