The "Worst Generation / Supernova Discussion Thread

I searched/browsed through a bunch of pages and couldn't find an actual discussion thread for this (other than the post time-skip picture thread).. It may not warrant an entire thread, but I find it difficult sifting the theory threads for this stuff, so I thought I'd give it a shot.

To be honest, i was kind of surprised that so many of the Supernova are doing "well" in the NW. For characters who Oda decided to put in the story on a whim they certainly seem to have a big role in the future. I still don´t think though that everyone of the Supernova will get their own arc, their is just so many other things Oda has to include in the NW and strengthwise most of them wouldn´t pose a threat on their own to the SH. There are certainly other possibilities though, for example i could imagine that Kidd will be included in the Big Mom arc, he could coincidentally attack BM at the same time as the SH. Drake or another Supernova could play the same role as Bruno played for Luffy, an appetizer for the real arc fight against Lucci/Kaidou. There is still the theory of Bonney getting help from the SH and joining afterwards. Characters like Urouge or Capone could serve as an opponent in a mini-arc like Mr.3 or Wapol. My guess for Apoo is that he is one of the new Shichibukai besides Law and Buggy. So basically, i think we will see all of them in the future, even if it is in a small manner.

There is still the theory of Bonney getting help from the SH and joining afterwards.

My guess for Apoo is that he is one of the new Shichibukai besides Law and Buggy.

I'm more interested in those two than any others to be honest..I can see Apoo being the one of the Shichibukai, he seems to have a pretty powerful DF. And I really want to know what connection Bonney has with the WG, it'd be weird if they had to help her, but it'd probably be really interesting.

I don't think it would be possible for a supernova to survive two years on the grandline when right from the start he pissed a yonkou off, my guess is he wanted his attention so he could join him, no way a newbie (albeit a supernova) could stay alive two years from constant attacks by a yonkou and his allies, he's probs a top member now

and Hawkings is constantly said to be in the rankings with Kid, Law, Drake and Luffy my guess is their the elites but the other guys are monsters as well

now what I'm wondering is are many of them still just regular captains or have they all got new groups, like working for a yonkou being a shichibukai or something else

Pretty much agree with all of this.

As for your last question, I think Law hit the Jackpot by becoming a Shichi. He can do whatever he wants, his crew is pardoned and the members could theoretically go back to their families, but I have the impression they would follow Law wherever he goes - especially the named characters.

If Drake joined Kaido, which is very likely, I think it will be like Ace joining Whitebeard. The crew will be integrated into Kaido's fleet, possibly under the command of Drake (among many others who were already in Kaido's crew, but surpassed by Drake).

Kidd has his own crew like before, nothing changed as far as we know.

Hawkins probably still has his crew or "cult" at his side, he uses them as living shields / fodder for his devil fruit.

Bonney probably lost all her men after being caught. I wouldn't be surprised if she escaped again, but escaping + freeing her crew? Unlikely. Half of them is probably dead anway due to Blackbeards first assault.


Leaves the "lower" Supernova captains: Apoo, Bedge, Urouge.

I would like to see at least 2 of them completely shattered - like Moriah.

One of them by Big Mum. The Straw Hats need a proper demonstration of her power, and seeing Capone Bedge's corpse on a random island would help. Imagine his dead body hanging on a string, filled with candy - to serve the monsters of her crew as a pinata.

These have my vote.

I don't see any other reason why Drake would hunt down Kaido, I wouldn't be surprised if he wanted to give information about the Marines/WG. I don't really know about him joining his crew, but if he did, I agree, it'd probably be like with Ace joining Whitebeard.

And, I'll be pretty disappointed if at least one or two of them haven't been taken out. For every Supernova+crew to just jump right into the NW (especially after the war) and have them all stay alive for that whole two years would (to me at least) kinda lighten the whole supposed terror of the NW and the other half being called "paradise" compared to it..

Remember that originally the supernovas were meant to appear quite later than they did. THey were supossed to be rivals in the new world.

BUT the sabaody arc was sorta empty, so oda decided to add them earlier. Then he quickly sketched their designs in 3 hours and made them debut.
For this reason, he probably weakened them as well, so they were strong enough to be supernova pre-timeskip, and be strong enough to be new world threat level post-timeskip

Suggesting that drake is now kaidou's underling, i'm guessing he probably had some interesting information to offer him (if he joined of his own free will) to allow drake to hide in his crew, though i greatly doubt it's anything like ace's situation. not like commodore seemed too high of a marine rank anyways, and smoker went from the same rank to VA in 2years, while drake seems older and possibly lacking in the potential department compared to the other top tiers of that generation.

He was a rear admiral, I believe commodore was a mistranslation. Rear admiral is above commodore and below vice admiral in rank.

Maybe the influence goes Vegapunk > Kaido > Moria.
We know the link between Moria and Kaido, but not the link between Kaido and Vegapunk...

That's pretty much what I was thinking, though being only a rear admiral when he left the Marines..I can't see him knowing too much more than what he saw at Sabaody, with them incorporating Kizaru's lasers into the pacifistas'.. But, that still could be enough information to give a Yonkou who seems to have some interest in cyborg/robotics technology.

I really doubt Drake is older than Smoker, he's now 36 post time-skip. Drake looks like he was in his mid to late 20's, 30 at most.
