This is the man who fought Arlong with a life-threatening wound from Mihawk, the man who was willing to cut his own legs off to escape solid wax, the man who was willing to give his life to Kuma to save Luffy. I'm not one to like nitpickers against the anime, as you all probably know by now, but this one scene just felt very weak and OOC to me.
He is in chains even in the flashback, but it is very hard to spot because the drawing is sloppy in the underwater scene (before they get thrown out).

But immediatly after (1-2 seconds) you see this scene:

    For like one second.

As for the rest of your comment, yeah...you are right.

I personaly liked that though, because it showcased them before their individual fights, so they didn't basicly just come out of nowhere.

I thought it was an okay episode. The Luffy vs. Jinbei still felt forced like it did in the manga.
    Spoiler:
However, we get an explanation of Fishman Karate, showcase of Robin's powers and in the end it'll end up being a comedic encounter, which isn't that bad, imo.

The Luffy-Sanji high-five and Ussop's Robin impression were highlights for me.

This episode was weird. Some parts of it were awesome, other parts of it were 'what the **** were you thinking, Toei?' moments. Usopp's psychic scene didn't do it for me; hell, I found his normal expressions wrong in pretty much every scene. Although the nose-wobbly thing gave me throwbacks to the Cocoa-cucumber scene. Brook was the same: part hilarious, part annoying. His expression when he burst out into laughter was plain epic, but the entire scene inbetween Brook acting like an idiot while Usopp and Zoro are 'out' of it.. meh. That was horribly out of character.

Sanji high-fiving Luffy was awesome. Also the end with Luffy and Jinbei however felt pretty good to me. The weaksauce motives aside, Luffy looked really bad-ass and determined.. and I haven't seen him like that in years; I definitely can't recall a time post-timeskip where he was properly pissed off like that. And that gave me the old-fashioned omg-luffy feeling I've been craving! So the ending made the episode worth it to me.

Summary: the Usopp-Brook-Zoro filler sucked, the rest was pretty good.

Sanji/Luffy high five was awesome, Sanji's reaction to Chopper/Franky was awesome, Luffy's reaction to his bounty was funny as well.

    Nice episode

    Spoiler:
In my opinion, he framed the human so their attendance to the reverie was delayed, this way he had ttime to plan and execute his coup.
Once he transforms, thanks to the ES, he doesn't mind whether the fishmen support him or not since he thinks he's so strong he can control them by force

The reason for the fight wasnt because each one wanted handle the problem their own way?
Jinbei didnt want Luffy simply laying waste to fishman because that would contribute to bad image humans already have in their island.
Luffy isnt really the type to listen to reason if someone that he cares is in danger.
I realy dont see any fault with that scene in the manga perhaps that is just me that feels that way.
    Spoiler:

With Hody TV moment was basically him showing off and was later point out by Fukaboshi(if i remember correctly)that way he acted wasnt logic or rational something among those lines.

Cant talk about episode havent seen yet(saving them until they reach "hero" arrival moment).

The thing about Hody is he's written believabely to be just a moron who never cares about the details of his plan. Because he at one side stages Otohime's public humiliation and states how despicable she is, yet at the same time uses her death as an example. And then
    Spoiler:
he admits it, making his whole statement completely pointless

    Oh, sorry :P

Thing is, I once pointed out how Insanegamefreak was mispronouncing Otohime's name like that, and now I do it too :P

The only think I really didn't like about this episode was Luffy's bounty reveal reaction, I was really hopeing the animation would be atleast close to the manga (how it was close up)..but this didn't even look like Luffy to me..

I really liked this episode. Luffy's reaction to his bounty was tipycal of him, I really liked how in the end they showed Ace again, it really brought some strong emotions again. The scene with Zoro, Brook and Usopp was a funny one. I just can't stop laughing when Brook does his YO HO HO HO :D. It enden really promising, can't wait for next week.

Decent episode considering the contents of the chapter itself. About as good as anyone could reasonable expect. Animation and art was overall good. Also:

-Hody televising, while cliche, makes sense here in the means of fear-mongering. He is essentially playing Robespierre in his fanatical goal of purging Fishman Island of traitors, with the petition names in the place of the black book. He's also declaring himself the new King, so what other way than show everyone he is in complete control?

-The Usopp telekinesis filler was bizarre and almost deliberately suggestive, considering we get the Usopp nose POV while he strains to untie Zoro's ropes and how it goes flaccid when he fails.

-Enjoyed the Brook flashback filler. Some great Brook moments there.

-Sanji's reaction to looking after Shirahoshi made the episode. A truly classic moment.

-Yeah, the Luffy vs Jinbei duel is pretty forced , though it would not have been if they didn't go completely all-out in the actual duel. A brief exchange of fists would have worked much better.

We all know what Luffy is capable of. So considering that, yeah, it was just a brief exchange of fists for him and for Jinbe.
