The higher they ranked in the preliminaries, the better they should fare in the actual tournament, right? Let's see, starting with winners of Round 1:

    Spoiler:
Prelim #1's that won (opponents in parenthesis) - 12/14
    Brook (vs. #2 Buggy)
    Zoro (vs. #3 Norland)

    Smoker (vs. #4 Benn Beckmann)
    Nami (vs. #2 Hattori)
    Law (vs. #2 Kidd)

    Prelim #2's that won (opponent) - 6/14
    Enel (vs. #4 Laboon)
    Ivankov (vs. #3 Tom)
    Magellan (vs. #3 Blackbeard)
    Shanks (vs. #2 Fisher Tiger)
    Moriah (vs. AutoPass Doma&Monkey)
    Dr. Hiruluk (vs. #4 Calgara)

    Prelim #3's that won (opponent) - 3/14
    Doflamingo (vs. #3 Kaku)
    Monet (vs. #3 Hannyabal)
    Roger (vs. #4 Arlong)

Prelim #4's that won (opponent) - 4/14 (5/14 when counting Shakky.)
    Kinemon (vs. #3 Crocus)
    Tashigi (vs. #3 Kureha)
    Belle Mère (vs. #4 Inazuma)
    Ace (vs. #2 Galdino)

Autopasses that won (opponent) - 6/7 (7/8 including Satori but I ignored him)
Fred (AOFsntJ) (vs. #2 X Drake)
    Robin (vs. #3 Otohime)
    Luffy (vs. #2 Garp)
    Franky (vs. #4 Makino)
    Whitebeard (vs. #2 Dragon)
    Usopp (vs. #3 Hancock)

    Notes:
~all previous champions won, however at the same time none of them was matched against a character ranking first in the preliminaries.
~the only characters beating higher ranking preliminary contestants were Kinemon, Ace and Tashigi.
    ~only #1's losing were matched against #1's.

Now showing which characters passed Round 2, again relating to preliminary rankings:

    Spoiler:
Prelim #1's that won (opponent) - 6/8/12 (originally 14), counting the tie as both advancing.
    Law (vs. Autopass Luffy)
    Crocodile (vs. #1 Brook)
    Zoro (vs. #1 Sanji)
    Smoker (vs. #4 Kinemon)
    Aokiji (vs. #2 Moriah)
    Bon Kurei (vs. Autopass Fred)
*tie between #1 Nami and #1 Rayleigh

Prelim #2's that won (opponent) - 4/6 (originally 14), counting the tie as both advancing.
    Dr. Hiruluk (vs. #3 Roger)
    Enel (vs. #1 Chopper)
*tie between #2 Shanks and #2 Magellan

    Prelim #3's that won (opponent) - 2/3 (originally 14)
    Doflamingo (vs. Autopass Franky)
    Monet (vs. #4 Belle Mère)

    Prelim #4's that won (opponent) - 0/4 (originally 14) (counting Tashigi, 1/4)
    -

Autopasses that won (opponent) (ignoring Satori again) - 3/6 (originally 7)
    Robin (vs. #1 Kuma)
    Usopp (vs. #2 Ivankov)
    Whitebeard (vs. #4 Ace)

    Notes:
~only character beating a higher ranking preliminary contestant was Enel.
~notable: previous champion Franky being knocked out by Doflamingo who ranked third in preliminaries.
~another previous champion, Luffy, knocked out, but by Law, who ranked first.
~by now, all fourth placed characters from the prelims have disappeared - all but Tashigi.
~ties only happened between characters ranking same place in prelims.

    Interesting stats!

So, taking that a step further, we can say that Ace, Tashigi and Kinemon were the only ones to actually beat someone with a higher place in the prelims. While Bellemere, Monet, Doflamingo, Shanks, Rayleigh and Aokiji beat someone with the same place in the prelims.

got it a while ago :D
For Satori's bounty you used his and shakki's votes as if they were negative numbers, right?, that confused me a little.

Btw, thanks god you didn't give bounties for the tag teams, those could be really really hard.

    I got Hattori's bounty, just Hattori's.
For each one of the rest I've got a number which ranges from 2 to 14 depending on the character. Except for Shakki, no idea about her bounty so far.
