Now that would be depressing, besides, he had 50 years to mourn, and he has said himself tha finding luffy and the crew, who accepted him as he was, had a lot of value to him, They are his happiness now in a way, that's why he returned to a Liffe of piracy, not only to keep the promise with Laboon.

But I do think he is crazy and is not right on the head, and who wouldn't be based on the situation he is on??? Imagine looking at your hands and finding just bones, looking at your reflection and finding only a skull! He has only two choises, to be a VERY dark character, darker than even Robin, or making jokes of himself and making light of his situation.

His antics can get annoying, I give you that, but I also like the way he respects Luffy and each day he fits more with the crew.

Also his fighting style, power and personality make him my second favorite character sharing the position with Ace *sniff*. Luffy being the #1. Some may found his personality annyoing but do u remember the scene where Camie saved him from drowning while holding his head to her breasts and Usopp going: "no no...Just let him die" One of the most hilarious scenes in one piece.

About Brook: I don't like his style AT ALL. I wanted him to be a bit more gloomy character (giving he's a skeleton whose crew died and has been sailing alone for 50 years without ever seeing day light) but instead he became a motherfucking rock star. The crown and the glasses don't fit him in the SLIGHTEST but I do like how he embraces his DF abilities even more than usual.
Yup I think his fighting style is cool, and I that moment was hilarious. A
Sadly yeah, his new look sucks, his old suit was way better.

Why are you so annoyed that someone is flirty? It sounds like you are a guy who can't do that kind of stuff, or a woman whom no one flirts with.
Seriously, this has to be the best round up of a character ever.
"A perve who goes after every pretty lady there is". I thought this was already pretty hilarious, but then "he [brook] respects the captain a ton more"

So Sanji is a flirty unrespectful bastard who chases every pretty skirt there is... Seems legit.
Wasn't Sanji the one who sacrificed himself to protect both Zoro and Luffy? Sounds like an unrespectful attitude to me.
I'd try to argue this but I don't know how to make what you said seem more ridiculous.
Specially the fact that his serious side was brushed aside and you just bashed the comic relief. .-.
It's like saying "I HATE ROBIN, SHE TELLS SUCH STUPID JOKES, I NEVER FOUND THEM FUNNY AND SHE ALWAYS THINKS PEOPLE ARE DEAD AND THAT'S MEAN!!!!"

That said, I haven't paid much attention to this arc in anime, but don't get disapointed anime-only guys, this and the next arc will make you love him. :3 I mean, he did get the best fight in Fishman Island, excluding that initial dynimic in Luffy vs Hodi. :3
No...im not jelly. I have a gf. I get annoyed that he's flirty because he looks retarded while doing it. & yup I don't like his comic relief.
About trying to protect luffy, I mentioned that he is WAY better when he is serious. That was a badass moment . But when 90% of the time he is swooning ladies and kicking luffy around I don't like him as much. And I think that going out of your way to get Nami and Robin 'special drinks' etc. 24/7 and beating luffy up for asking for food or something similar is bad, he is the captain. Brook shows obvious respect and gratefulness
    And robin's jokes are amazing
I don't like his personality... but you can if you want. its an opinion >.>

To me, this was a rather good episode. I will admit, the ending is a bit iffy with luffy pulling a comic angry face, which in no way references to his agreement to listen.

The two things I appreciated the most during this episode was Brooks slump-getaway discovery. Becoming a ghost to peep to your hearts content, anybody would be jealous of that angle regardless.
The other showcases Hody's growing addiction to keep himself concious after taking that hit from Zoro. I recall someone told this in a rough quote:
*Lol, He had to keep taking them just to stay concious!*
It thus gives me the impression they arent as much an enemy as the Energy Steroid is, since it is what they are relying on to provide the vast strength. Not that i've ever been a fan of drugs that speeds muscle growth but that makes it all the better.

There is no order of command in the Straw Hats, thats what sets them apart from all the others. They are a group of friends, and friends treat each other with friendly disrespect at times.

    Spoiler:
Luffy decides on the very basic decisions, like which island next. Even decisions like a pirate alliance are not his decision alone, he had to persuade the others (and still has to persuade Sanji and Zoro). Apart from that, every SH is equal and their desires have top priority (I don't know if yo uread the manga, but the current arc illustrates that very well...)

I would seriously worry if Sanji / Zoro / Nami would stop treating Luffy like the moron he is, because this would create a feeling of distance between them.

I'm honestly amazed at how many anime watchers don't read the manga.

Ok, this is just stupid. EVERYONE in the crew has great respect for Luffy. I don't know if I'm assuming this right, but you're using comic relief (that is, Sanji kicking Luffy whenever the latter does something stupid) as a measure of Sanji's respect?

Unfortunately, this isn't Naruto, and Brooke isn't Sasuke.

Also, Brook's antics/skull jokes are hardly annoying in the manga. Such a shame that anime-only fans have to judge a character based on the anime alone.

Are you implying that his voice acting is annoying? Because I think Brook's seiyuu its perfect for the character, a little crazy, a little scandalous at times, but all in all good acting and what we would expect from an animated version of Brook

Now, anime tends to extretch escenes, and maybe that is why some escenes involving Brook and skull jokes could be seen as annoyin? Peronally I watch both, manga and Anime, and if anything, there's lots of escenes in the manga that I actully go" Man I cant wait to see that animated, becase the seiyuus do an amazing job.

So if some1 states his opinion that differs from the show, he is instantly lynched and told to go back to naruto? Grow up. I never said I disliked Brook but his post-time skip style.
And what does Brook even have to do with Sasuke?
For ur information I read manga weekly but I also watch anime to see the scenes animated.

I don't know why you assumed I'm referring to the voice acting, when I specifically said antics/skull jokes which are very repetitive in the anime. But that's Toei's fault, not Oda's.

Where in my post did I say go back to Naruto, lol. I was implying that if Brooke was a really gloomy character he'd most probably not fit in OP. That shit flies in the depressing supposedly-ninja world of Naruto, not in a light-hearted adventure story like OP.

I do agree that I am not crazy for how Brook appears now.
I enjoyed the gentleman butler kind of thing
I still enjoy the character though.

Sanji is still one of my favorite characters.
The high five was even funnier in the anime probably because of the sound of it and all.
I got a kick out of his flowerly speech in the beginning of the Baratie arc as well.
Sanji has his annoying moments, but I can overlook those.
