^ I saw that and all I could think was "Poor girl!"
REALLY bored with the episode this time. See what happens when the best you get of the Straw Hats is Luffy and Jinbe shouting about fighting again. C'mon Toei!
luffy and jinbe shouldn't even have appeared.
Thanks guys, now everytime I see the phrase "Hody's incident" I giggle a bit and die a little inside.
Boring episode, I actually started daydreaming while watching it.
Not me. I usually don't mind Oda's wordplay jokes and strange Japanese endings and such, but I found that joke boring in both versions. Same for the fried squid stuff. I did like Zeo in both versions, though. And Hyouzo is a pretty good character as well. The others... not so much.
Those Posun, Dosun, Dogan types of words have meaning? I just thought he was using a new word for each "power level" he was hitting.
Pretty nice episode, we're almost to the climax! Which hopefully will be as good or better than the manga.
Oh and Zeo and Dosun were awesome in this episode.

HAHA That is hilarious, thank you.
This was probably the most entertaining part of the episode.
Hmm, well it makes a bit more sense. I still don't think it's that funny, but I'm not one on word play. Most of Oda's jokes make me roll on the floor, so it's okay if I don't find ALL of them funny.
I have a serious bone to pick with the Fishman Island construction crews that build all these places from paper-mache. That Hyouzo-cutting-up-giant-building scene was cringe-worthy, even by the One Piece laws of physics. Also a couple of really wonky background shots with Daruma toppling the candy factories.
Very glad they made Hody's hair white, though, instead of the blue Oda randomly gave him in the volume cover. Even though in the manga they specifically talk about his hair turning white.. you just never know with Toei's coloring department. They like to play it wild.

I took Oda's colouring of Hody on Vol. 65 to be similar to what he did on Vol. 14 and 57, except that he coloured Hody's eyes to highlight his cold, menacing stare.
Like said, the animation of these chapters is pretty brilliant. Not only was the NFP showcased more which makes them all the more likable, it was very well made with Hody's experience and that of those around him when Hody transformed.
The moment where the ones behind him ask if he is okay, there is a moment after he responds that they show worry. I liked that moment because of how much focus the transformation got throughout.
Agreed though that the Luffy/Jimbei bit wasnt needed at all, couldnt they have stretched out NFP showcasing during those 30-40 seconds instead? Did they really think the audience needed a reminder that they are still not finished arguing? Thanks to that bit, it makes me feel as if they're showing Luffy and Jimbei to be screaming at each other constantly as Hody makes way for the Plaza.
Zeo: Awesome showcase of stubborn nobility?
Dosun: Even if his ranked stepping of the ends to his sentences, the anger shown felt genuine. an okay if not good scene.
Hyozu: Rather enjoyable, if the structure just wouldn't have randomly exploded behind him.
Ikaros: I didnt feel much for this, but it wasnt bad either. an okay showcase for Ikaros.
Daruma: It would be an okay bit for Daruma, only that I found the sound effect for his chewing to be annoying. Maybe its just the sound being as sharp as it was, or its repetive and constant noise whenever he tunneled.
Hordy: Genuine feel all around. To me it felt like this scene with Hody was given the most focus as both the crew around him and he himself experienced and showed their reactions to the transformation.
Ratings this week were the same as last's: 8.8
And 5.5 for OP Special Edition (episode 9, i think)
