I dislike Motorcity, mostly, because it's trying to be--yet another--"cool show". Meaning, it's trying to be too cool ("I'm a badass, look at me do my tricks! Reject the status quo!"), which, is something I very much dislike in T.V. I watch. I also find it's continuos story incredibly...bland. (Disney Channel has far too many of these, like the new Tron animated show).

As for Gravity Falls...it feels too much like a Rocko's Modern Life, and Spongebob Squarepants clone. And by that, I mean, everything from it's animation to its wonky storylines--except...it doesn't click AT ALL, like Rocko's Modern Life did for me, and it's humor is pathetic.

Like I said: It comes down to opinion. Because, what I dislike about these shows, some people may very well like.

I disagree wholeheartedly, but I at least understand your complaint about Motorcity.

I don't personally find any similarity between Rocko's Modern Life, Spongebob, and Gravity Falls, but that's just me.

I do puzzle what channels you consider as being more deserving channel cause CN,Disney, and HUB (at the moment) aren't.

This one's for you, because it's obvious that you are--since you assuming it was a witty comeback, and your comments are degrading into veiled insults. (All because you can't accept my perfectly valid opinion).

I like the explanation of what a valid opinion is. I mean it's common sense, or maybe that's just my opinion. But hey maybe I'm wrong, but that's okay because someone else has a different opinion.

Anyway I don't watch television anymore but it's disappointing that a channel that was once known for new animation and taking risks is doing pretty much the opposite. I'm thinking this will just be a phase, I hope, because it's no coincidence that their ratings are going down.

The Hub and Nicktoons. The Hub doesnt have many shows, but the shows they do have are awesome. Oh and Cartoon Network.

Nicktoons I could see hence why I didn't include them, The Hub I believe is still trying to establish it's own identity, AS for CN the network's been is a tailspin that won't be resolved unless they hire people at the executive level who know how to run a network.

    Here's how I see it

Motorcity shouldn't exist at all. Yeah the writing could use some work, but as far as animation and design goes, it really is top notch. There is no reason why Disney should want this show to exist at all, yet here it is like some beautiful, artistic experiment made just for me

Gravity Falls is great. It looks great but the key to this show is the mystery and the fact that it's going to have continuity

Both these shows have a remarkable potential. They aren't just stand alone comedic episodes like Rocko or Angry Beavers, and they will need some time to grow. I think that they deserve that chance based off premise and art alone, but the creators seem so dedicated to these shows that I think Disney has a couple of real sleeping smash hits on their hands.
