Okay, I've corrected myself. Now you can read once more through all of my post and see if you have any other objections.

Even classifying Kuja as separate race makes more sense - at least they are blood related and it is hinted that they share some physical characteristic like being able to give birth only to females. Still I'd stay with calling Kuja humans.
I'd say the Kuja are human too but during the war when OArs Jr. was attacking, a marine said that Giants are humans too, they are just a really, REALLY, tall sub-species acording to that comment. And Kuja would be one too, like your example of if ethinic races below: Italian,Swedish, Anglo-saxon, and Celtic are all caucasian , and the Maasai and Pygmy are African but all are human. I
t didn't really bother me that the Kuja and giants are listed there as I took it as a sub-race or ethinic race. It was the okama that doesn't fit as they are a cultural group, not a racial one.

On the other topic. I've noted that Bilkans, Shandians and Skypeyans are all listed separately. I'd say they are one race. They originated from one place and than divided into tree cultures living in different places. Compare how both Italian and Swedish are classified Caucasian race, although there are visible differences. Or how Kung Bushmen, Maasai and Pygmy are classified as African Race, and they are even more visibly different than different groups of Europeans. Also in Modern Anthropology race is seen as something conventional not innate. Clear and satisfying classification just can't be made.
The winged races, I've assumed them as sub-species of same origin. Like you how you described ethinc races.
Its one thing I brought up at the beining, that 'races' in the title was misleading and group would fit it better. BUT I freely admit the defintion of 'race' is a vauge area.
Some are not a full separate race, some are like mermaids and humans are offically different races. Some are more of 'ethinic group (what's your race;white/black/hispanic) within a major race (human/alien/mermaid).
But Mermaids and Fishman do not fit the same race difference as Mermaids and Humans. IF we describe merfolk and fishfolk as two groups within one race it fits a bit better. Reason is two merfolk parents can give birth to a fishman baby. That would not be possible if they were a totaly separate major race, but possible if they were two 'ethinic' groups of one race.
Entry #4 of Katzztar's Korner is up.

All this talk of ethnic races has me thinking.

What if the Snakenecks are going to be based on the Padaung people?

    Aren't Snakenecks people like Moria?

We don't know this for sure but it's a safe assumption.

Moria's neck was normal in his youth, before he had that huge scar,
so it's safer to assume that his long neck is a result of that injury.

So what's the new race Oda is revealing this year? Most seem to think it will be the Dwarves, but it could also be the Minkmen or Snakenecks. I am really interested in the Minkmen as they seem to be Bepo and Pekoms' race.

Wow how is this open? how does someone make a poll where we don't know or are sure about the aspect of some of the races in it?

You should have limited the poll to races we have seen and have been confirmed as part of that mentioned race.

    So cultures are races too.

Well I like the Kuja, Fishman and Shandians not going to vote since I don't know about the other races.

Was about to vote Skypiean until I saw the okama options.

Two names : Bon-chan and Ivankov. Their characters are much more awesome than most of other remarkable characters from each respective races.

I think Kuja are not a race nor are okama or cyborg or shanadians .

I'd argue that Cyborgs are a race of their own.

Shanadians are definitely a race! They have wings on their backs.

So, if Oda said that new races will be introduced do you guys think that there are more races in the new world than the ones we know now? Since collecting slaves of different kind seems to be a hobby to world nobles that slave list probably has all the known races covered. But would it be possible that there are other races that World Government doesn't know about or are either too powerful or rare in first half of Grand Line to be captured? I hope so since it would be neat.

That three-eyed girl from Big Moms crew might at least be from a new race. As for Bepo and Pekoms, I believe they are Minkmen, but the real question is if there are only mammals or are there other kinds too? Snakenecks are probably just long-necked humans so Moria isn't likely one. He might be something else tough, I actually wish that he wasn't just a really bizarre human.

Moria had a chin in his youth. The implication is that Kaidou fucked him up pretty badly and that's the result of his current appearance. From everything we know about Kaidou (Cyborg Subordinates, likes putting metal structures on his islands), he may be into body modification. Maybe he tried to turn Moria into a cyborg for a while, and Hogback or someone else reversed it. Remember his line to Kuma, "I know all about your abilities"? Maybe when he said that he wasn't just referring to his Devil Fruit abilities...
Calling it now: Big Mom has the Sui Sui no Mi (Acid Acid Fruit).

Both Moria and Kuma were Shichibukai at the time, so it's possible they were given knowledge of the Pacifista by the World Government since the Marineford war was nigh.

I forgot all about her! As others have pointed out, it'd be nice if we had a proper introduction into the New World. Who are the inhabitants? What are the politics involved? The survival rate of new comers ?

Also, it seems like the New World breeds a bigger variety of different species as compared to the Blue Seas and the Grandline. In fact, I'm willing to argue that (with the exception of Sky Islands and Long Limb Tribes) that all races outside of humans all come from the New World.
