Jojo! I'm sorry I forgot about you in my post! You are not left out!
And I don't think season 2 is less interesting. Hell, everything gets more interesting post season 1. I just don't think it's as good.

And I don't think season 2 is less interesting. Hell, everything gets more interesting post season 1. I just don't think it's as good.
Season 1 was a fantastic start to the series. I like the vibe and tone of it, how how it focuses on mostly surviving and learning about the characters. None of the mysterious of the island ever overplayed the character, but I can see why that drived some people for the series. I was always in the mind set of wanting to know what happens next to the characters and not so much what did something mean, but I also didn't have a week per episode. A lot of the mysterious were better left up to "the island is magic". You're own personal theories will always be better to you than anything else. Though, later on the writers would start writing some pretty bad explanations... but I'll talk to about those when I get to em.
Most TV serious couldn't handle this big of a cast, and this show did it really well. While I could see others only focusing on Jack, Kate, and Sawyer; it was nice that characters that you wouldn't expect to get represented early did, like Sun. They treated the regulars equally and it pays off. Though, Locke easily took the cake for several reasons, mostly for his spirituality, being intune with the island, and just kind of doing everything right. Though they did contradict him a few times with Boone's death and the hatch. But Locke was the character we wanted to learn about the most.
The finale for Season 1 was an amazing cliff hanger. The characters we're making progress, we had self made attempt to get off the island... something that wouldn't be done till about Season 5. I liked the meta humor with the Biology Teacher, and how the main cast apparently act like they're the only ones here. Really funny, and as we learned in Season 3, that idea was always in the mindset of the writers... well til about Season 4. Hah.
I agree with a lot of you guys about Season 2. There's a lot of missteps and it really shows. The tail-end survivors outside of Mr. Eko are either unlikable and or mostly likable because of a connection to another character (Libby, Hurley and Bernard, Rose). Most of them don't really get a chance to shine because the writers got rid of them quick, minus two... but one goes away later on too. This season's big mystery isn't as charming as the first. Don't get me wrong, the button works; but it felt like a sub mystery after the hatch. And I feel like I should be jaded that the last mystery brought us a second mystery. Answering a question with a question, that won't be a reoccurring theme! It works.
The problem with the button is that I feel like it should've not have taken 20 episodes to figure it out. It took away from a lot of the characters exploring the island, which was my favorite part.
Alright. The good parts of season 2. The "Lit em up" scene is on of my top 10 favorite memories. The lockdown episode where lock saw the symbols on the walls, that was exciting. "Henry Gale" reveal was pretty awesome too. But f you go back.. you realized why did the french chick not realize this man was the same one who has her baby.
On the worst side, Micheal became a really unlikable character this season. Not even because of his betrayals. But because I got so annoyed with nothing but "WALLLLT" "MY SON!" It makes sense in terms of story, but damn did it get annoying.
Maybe he had a disguise when he took Alex, too?
Also, Nex, I've finished season 2, and I love it!
Desmond is still my favorite. :)
Spoiler:
I really like this show so far, and how it's handled such a diverse cast so far is pretty great. I can't say there's any of them I really hate. Some are just jerks in general, but I still care about them.
After seeing Dues Ex Machina, I feel so sorry for Locke. :'(
Dang shows, getting me emotionally invested.
And I'm not sure if you saw my previous posts, but I've picked up on some cameos that some characters have made in other character's flashbacks. I don't think they're coincidental, and from what it seems, this show is going for more of letting supernatural ideas work while still making the show grounded in realism to a great extent, which is pretty refreshing in comparison to realistic modern shows which normally don't allow for supernatural stuff.
G4 is starting up LOST again on Monday. :P
finished watching season 2,yeah Nex now i can see why season 2 is your least favourite, the second part of season 2 it was good but not good as i expected,i hope the author won't change Locke into a 'sasuke' type character.I liked Desmond and his story also Anna lucia didn't thought she would die so early,i liked her character and looks

Oh good, we're a couple days away from that Season 3 finale.
It looks like the rewatch party might beat me, as I just finished The Constant AKA It's All Downhill From Here Because I Am Pretty Sure This One Won't Be Topped
Holy ahead of schedule...
We're on Ji Yeon right now.
Just noticed the repeat title on the schedule. I'm pretty sure everything else is right.
I'm just barely sinking into Season 6 (only seen the premiere), but seeing how yesterday was the Season 4 finale for this thread, I thought I'd pop in with some thoughts on that season as a whole.
When I first found out that the remaining seasons were significantly shorter than the first three, I was a little more than worried. I mean, you've got a cast of ~16 characters and ~24 episodes any given season. That should have gave each character 1 or 2 focus episodes, yes, but with some characters getting 2 or 3 or even 4 a season, and others (Shannon, Libby) getting none, it makes the 14-episode Season 4 run look rather... tiny.
And then you get a couple episodes centered around the Oceanic Six... and at least one additional episode for each of them, and you've already exhausted half of your episodes on that storyline. Keep in mind you've just introduced FOUR new main characters to the story, and you've still got the likes of Ben, Juliet, Desmond, and Locke to focus on as well. As you can see, there just isn't any room for the necessary Sawyer or Claire episode.
But who cares? Season 4 was probably even better than season 1! It was the most exciting, most engaging set of episodes yet, and I can't even begin to explain what makes them all incredible. From the top, the flash-forwards are interesting enough, but the star of the season is the offshore freighter and the wedge it drives in the survivors', pitting Jack against Locke, Kate against Sawyer, and more.
The freighter did bring with it some of the better characters the series has had. I really enjoyed all five of the main freighterfolk (I want more Naomi!), with Faraday the most intriguing, but you've also got to give credit where it's due: that freighter, in all its good, brought with it the most vile creature on the planet: Keamy.
And it was brilliant. He was so instantly unlikeable and after "The Shape of Things to Come", I absolutely loathed him. I wanted nothing more than for him to die, at any cost, so I really felt Ben in the finale (despite the freighter having a ton of cool dudes on it). So as much as I wanted him to survive to keep the others alive, I do think my desire for him to just die already won out. Such a brilliant villain!
And all of the emotion. All of the payoff. I just lost all of my shit at the end of The Constant. It's still my favorite scene to date because HOLY FUCKING SHIT it just warms my heart and makes up for everything ever. And then they drop 4x08's ending on me, and finish it up with the glorious The Shape of Things to Come. I cried more for that character than some of the main cast because it was just such a pitiful, unnerving, wholly undeserved death. Sure, it was necessary, and I feel the show was better for it, but it just encited so many volatile emotions.
And then they gave us the finale. Unfortunately, we live in a world where not only "Through the Looking Glass" exists, but also "The Incident", so to call "There's No Place Like Home" the most amazing finale ever would be simply false. But it's still up there, and I enjoyed all of it. "You can go now, Michael" is probably going to be my favorite line in the entire series, and Sun's screams at the end were utterly bonechilling. Fantastic acting. It was so raw, I don't know why I'm not crying now.Wait, I am.
Speaking of great acting, Sawyer's character development had me a little chilly at first, but I really warmed up to his relationship with Claire so much that I can't help but love the guy even more (and Season 5 cemented him as the best character ever too!). It was too good.
All in all, any doubt I had about this being one of the, if not THE, best shows ever has been completely dispelled in a single, masterfully-paced season. I'm glad it was a shortened season, because it kept the show strong throughout, not to mention the fact that this was the first season with an end date hammered out from the getgo, and the fact that the flash forwards were still fresh and novel. I do want to mention that it did feel slightly rushed at times, but that is at no fault to the show, because of that infamous writer's strike killing three of the season's episodes.
SO, yeah, bravo! \o/
Season 4 worked great as a shortened season. Season 5 and 6 should've been regular length though.

Maybe because I had 120 episodes to watch from the start(watched after it ended), but I didn't mind the lower episode counts..though I did when it ended. :(

We finished season 5. Six should come in soon.
God, I hope I don't have to explain everything to my parents...
So glad to see people are still keeping up with this despite the lack of discussion!
I am sorry about that, but I actually had to stop watching because things got really busy for me. I';m jumping back into season 3 tomorrow because I do want to finish a rewatch.
Anyway, we got Kitsune's thoughts (which were excellent and I am very happy with!) so how about everyone else's? What were thoughts on 4 and 5 Sniper King?
A few years back I grudgingly did not want to watch this show.
Than a couple months back my father in law started to watch the show and was watching season 2, I watched a few eps with him and before I knew it, I was hooked, So I spent last month watching season 1 and my god this show is amazing. I love the characters, the mysteries, how questions are answered but more questions open up. By far my favorite characters are Locke, Sayid, Hurley & Ecko. I am now in the middle of watching season 2, I am even re-watching the first 10 episode's that I watched with my father in law.

So, anyone whose still on schedule (I never even started) need help explaining the series in three sentences or less?
Spoiler:
Thats the big questions of the series. Some of the smaller character based ones?
