The preview looked good for this one. Let's see how it goes.
What do you mean no new characters?
I'll have you know Harisenbon is the very soul of this entire arc. Without him we would have had nothing.
Should be a lotta cool things to see in this episode. Hopefully they don't do something like put 90% of the budget into glorifying Robin's leg attack for foot fetishists.
This episode was doomed the moment the preview came out last week..Not once does Chopper use Kung-fu point in this or the next few chapters.
This really was half a chapter. So slow. So many unnecessary flashbacks. Thriller Bark wasn't this slow.
THAT WAS A BLOOD-SPURTING BOWEL MOVEMENT!
You hear that? It's the sound of them literally taking what should be the best parts of this arc and turning them into the worst. This pacing has gotten to intolerable, pseudo Impel Down/Thriller Bark levels. They spent HALF THE GOAT-FUCKING EPISODE on them not only doing old attacks we've already seen, but tamer versions of better ones we'll be seeing by the next episode. I was somewhat joking to myself more than anything else when I said a few weeks back they'd spend inappropriate amounts of time doing a Sanji/Zoro flashback. Guess who got proven wrong? I'm also going to drop all pretenses that they're NOT just pissing on the drawing tablet when it comes to their art and animation. I even noticed they deliberately took out some of the best panels from the corresponding HALF chapter they covered (like that Jinbe grinning scene in the manga).
Also notice that almost everything from the preview of the next episode looks like filler, too. I'm done trying to make excuses for Toei or defending them.
This is going to turn into an even worse Marineford when it comes to pacing and filler - calling it now.
Well, Zoros flashblack looked pretty much like the last thing we saw of him in the anime before the timeskip, but I don't know if it was the exact same.
Sanjis flashback was like 70% just running away from Okamas and 30% what we've seen in the manga too.
Also there were the scenes of Kuma sending them flying.
this episode covered the last page of 634 and like 9 and a half pages of 635, mainly filler and focus on just zoro and sanji's new stuff.
556 should have the rest of 635 including the skipped brook part.
I've actually decided that the slow pacing is for the best. As long as it helps the next arc gain some semi decent pacing, I'll be fine with it. If the next arc has shit pacing, I won't be fine with it.
Who was it again that said that adding filler explanations was good for Toei so they can explain how some stuff happened that Eiichiro just flew by them? Be careful what you wish for because Toei will take it and throw it right back at you 10 times longer. Have fun with these "explanations"^^.
That was in the manga too. Iva said he would get no rest, being chased over the entire island 24/7 while fighting the masters to get the scrolls.
The problem is that manga readers like to judge an episode based on number of pages covered.
If it covers less than one chapter, then automatically it can't be good.
Or maybe it sucks to see an episode that is supposed to be an action packed one, filled with fillers for half its duration. The art doesn't help too...
It's episodes like this that make me wish for an eventual One Piece Kai in the future.
And the Meek shall Inherit the Earth.
16 characters of Hattori?
Theory 1: Dellinger is related to Saldeath. I said it first.
Theory 2: Diamante is actually Foxy *collective gasps*
