Well it is a Studio Shaft production that sold over 120k copies in Japan when it came out. And it is equally praised amongst the artsy and romantic parties of the otakuverse, so yes, it is literally everywhere. Plus that certainly isn't the only anime/manga with a scene like that. I just happened to recognize the characters. :P

I really would have voted for Kidd if I hadn't seen that. I watched the series a few weeks ago and since it's the only anime I have ever watched from beginning to end, I can't not be impulsive about it.

I see. Well, I watch a good amount of anime but I haven't had the chance/time to get to Bakemonogatari yet. Seems to be some sort of comedic romance if I'm not mistaken? With a little bit of supernatural. And yeah, that bike scene was used in another manga (Kimi no Iru Machi) and since the characters there look familiar to the ones shown in the picture above I mistook them for those. :P

Back to the topic then -- after taking a quick look at last year's tournament I realized that Kid didn't even reach 100 votes last year (got only 99 against Nami) so it looks like history's repeating itself.
