One Piece had a boom of popularity during the Marineford war. With a few exceptions, the replies to weekly chapter threads dropped by over half as Luffy's flashback was starting. A few chapters were still sparking a lot of discussion, but those became the minority really fast. It's dropped a bit more since then, while a lot of fans were being disappointed by Fishman Island, but not by nearly as much.

I think it has more to do with the fact that a lot of people lost their desire to put much focus on One Piece than it does with any forum related thing, and the responses were simply abnormally high during the war of the strongest, rather than being low now. And to the story's credit, the chapter threads are still about twice as popular as they were before Impel Down.

For me personally yeah, I love One Piece and it will always have a special place in my heart but I think I've grown out of it simply. I remember reading the Ace x Blackbeard fight on One Manga or Mangafox and barely being able to contain myself as I read the bubbles and clicked the next page - but that just doesn't come naturally to me any more, it feels like a chore to read, and it doesn't help I'm really far behind.

People should browse SomethingAwful anyway. At the very least the Debate & Discussion subforum; it's what truly separates that forum from other forums. Think you know how to post? Been spending years perfecting your post quality? Prepare to have all of that thrown out the window lol. Being able to post there and not get owned is one of my aspirations.

I'll never stop browsing this forum thanks to it being a One Piece fandom and the fact that I haven't really found a "Anime/Manga" section quite like ours on any other forum. Also the fact that I like OP tons more than some shows I watch that win awards out the wazoo, and deserve them, means I'm not going to stop reading it for the next 10-15 years, either.

Demonicpoodle, are you a regular in the One Piece thread in ADTRW (SA anime and manga subforum)? And D&D owns when it's not being LF. We don't hate newcomers, just don't be willfully ignorant, effortpost, and don't post in any of the toxx threads unless you want to be toxxed!

Anyway, Arlong Park is a nice place to hang out. Nowhere else on the Internet could I see so many English-speaking OP fans in one place.

My Brook avatar on SA is actually from a fanart posted in the last (or maybe the current one, they're getting long) One Piece manga thread, where all of the Straw Hats are represented as food. But I guess I can see why you'd think it's from Minecraft.

Actually, that might be a good idea. There's lots of creative types on this forum, has the administration ever thought of a smiley or emoticon contest to add to the current stock? I don't think it'd drive up numbers, but it might generate interest.

Ah, sorry sorry. He looked a lot like a creeper from Minecraft. Never connected why he had the afro... until now! Well good on that guy for buying those! Just glad they didn't end up in the "Shit we can't wait to delete" section of the emoticons lol. And some OP emoticons'd be cool. Hell, I'm pretty sure we have some Hattori ones? They're not in the database but they're in pixel form I think.

The Strawhats just got to the New World. One Piece is only half way done. Trust me this forum will stay for a veryyyy long time.

The only thing is they should change the name, because alot of people don't know its a one piece forum with the name as 'arlongpark' apforums..

The site were most people checked out spoilers were down and AP happened to have the only spoilers available at that time..so many from 4chan (or some place they checked spoilers at that time) came here to check out the newest spoilers.
