Thread: Seven Deadly Sins

  1. #1

    Default Seven Deadly Sins

"In a Distant Kingdom Far Away, Legend tells of The "Seven Deadly Sins", a rouge group of chaotically Evil knights who once conspired to overthrow the kingdom of Britannia, and were said to have been completely eradicated by the justly Holy Knights, although some rumors abound that they still live. Ten years later, the Holy Knights, not-so-justly-after-all, have staged a Coup d'état and assassinated the king, becoming the new, tyrannical rulers of the land and turning the kingdom into a dictatorship. Young Elizabeth, the king's only daughter, sets out on a journey across the nation, hoping to find the "Seven Deadly Sins" and to enlist their help in taking back the kingdom....."

A Brand New Manga Series with only 3 chapters published so far, It carries many of the same comedic-yet-heroic traits as other Shounen Series like Once Piece, Assassination Classroom, and Magi most of all (fantasy setting with a young boy and older girl in a traveling house on a secret quest). The author/Artist is the same as Kongou Banchou. Hopefully it has time to bloom before anyone at Jump Comics thinks of axing it, It definitely has lots of hidden potential and I feel that it's going to go places; so I recommend checking it out!

    You Can Read It Here.

Looks way less manly than Kongoh Bancho, but I'll give it a shot.

It's pretty fun so far. The fights have potential to get ridiculous fast.

    Awhile ago, yeah.

I'll check this out solely for that Magico comparison, since I ran into this thread as excited as a little school girl from the mention of it.

Haven't read yet just looked at opening post.

The story sounds more similar to Ubel Blatt than magico. The only thing Magico about it is that its a boy/girl duo walking around and there is a magic house.

Is this by the Magico author? or why is this Magico successor?

Considering that by the end of Kongo Bancho Kongo and his bro can destroy Japan with their physical strength... and his manga only has three chapters and they're already that strong... yeah, it does.

This really doesn't have anything to do with magico total mislead, it's a competent shonen though. Willing to see how it pans out.

Meh, doesnt sound unprecedented or super original at all.

    I like it so far.

The most original part is the inversion of the traditional JRPG stereotypes. On those the main character is a guy on his teens, usually child faced, insecure, unexperienced and timid with women that starts as a no one on a remote village and ends saving the world after some hours of game. In this case the hero has already "levelled up" and has a whole lifetime of experience but he still looks like a level 1 rookie knight on his teens (and he acts as a pervert old man on top)

I might give it a try. Typically I don't like rpg themed manga, I dropped Magi yesterday. However some do reallywork, like Dragon Quest: Dai No Daiboken or Bouken Oh Beet. Adding to my to read pile now.

Does anyone have an idea how the rankings in this magazine work? Because I just checked out the rankings in the mag.

Second chapter was ranked 6th, third was ranked 5th, 12th, fourth chapter has color pages so it doesn't count, fifth chapter ranked 1st.

Fairy Tail has made me wary of any new fantasy themed manga but this manga is legitmately well put together and emotionally deep from what I've gathered so far. Original characters, fun setting, over the top manly combat physics which is pretty interesting given how it's juxtaposed with a fantasy setting where emphasis is usually on the magic powers rather than the DBZ levels of physical feats. I'm very interested by where this manga could go, it has a lot of potential.

I enjoyed this manga a bit. I'll be watching.

Seems like the story is going to be short though, I can't see it lasting more than a few years.

He had another fantasy adventure manga running in... god I forgot where. UltraJump maybe.
With two protagonist, a shota and a female warrior.
I guess that ended a while back.

And since he's back to shounen, no blow jobs for this shota this time I guess. Damn.
