What's sad is I'll import my save files . . . . . but I think I might go in and, ah, "fix" a few things.

    Spoiler:
I killed Avernus in my first playthrough of DAO. I'm thinking I might go back and revive him.

I've never played all the way through DA2, so I'll be glad to edit that. Plus, I'm getting DAIII on the PC, and I only recently started playing DAO again on the platform. I got a ton of mods in though. So far, I'm enjoying the quest mods that were built in.

^ what quest mods are you using? I've settled mostly for cosmetic and armor mods.
Any recommendations? I've been a bit torn on what origin to play. Either City elf or Mage are my favorites.
But somehow the landsmeet alone makes me want to play the noble human origin.
For now I've brought the Mage and both elf ones to Ostagar.

Considering I played through both games twice, and DA1 actually required you make all the opposite choices to platinum the game, I've technically done everything... it'd be nice to be able to tweak it to be what I specifically want... though I'd probably mostly go with the light side choices I actually made in part 1.

    Spoiler:
Lets see... warden is a commoner dwarf thief that chose werewolves over elves, sided with the dwarf king that his sister was engaged to (not much choice there) and generally went the "save/forgive as many people as possible" route. Spared the dwarves. Made Alistair king, without a queen. Slept with Morrigan to avoid dying against the archdemon, but romanced Leiliana. Did the DLC quests. Then in part 2, hero pretty much took the same path, but sided with the downtroden mages usually... even though they always made me regret it.... TRIED to romance Aveline but couldn't, ended up romancing fellow thief Isabella, was buddies with Anders, and basically hated Merrill to take the safer better for her path... Had Bethany join the circle. Had Verric with me always.

My second playthrough I was a complete psycho power hungry female elven bloodmage that made every evil deal I could and killed all other elves mages whenever possible (still sided with the werewolves, over elves, heh) .... made a golem army. Used Allistair then totally betrayed him, sided with bitch queen and Logain. Killed Leiliana, Wynne, Shale, and Zevran. Then in part two... pretty much the same thing, though she romanced and always sided with Merrill so we had a pair of bloodmage assholes that destroyed all other mages. Killed Carver in the caves. Had Verric with me almost always.

Its an interesting way to approach the game completely differently both run throughs... though the effect of the choices in part 2 seem less obvious for the most part, since the end result was so railroaded.

    Quest mods I've installed:
    Hidden:

Quests that are expanded in the main campaign
    Quests and Legends - http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/...d%3D2040&pUp=1
-Largest, most expansive, and most popular quest mod.
    Alley of murders - http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/615//?
-Next most popular quest mod I believe.
    Ancient Elven Ruins - http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/...3D219681&pUp=1
-This and the next four mods are all made by the same person.
Pints and Quarts Tavern - http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/3405//?
    Swamp Tower Adventure - http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/...eview%3D&pUp=1
Tombs of the Undead - http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/...3D242023&pUp=1
    Infested Grounds - http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/...3D708735&pUp=1
    Temple of Vulak - http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/...eview%3D&pUp=1
    -Basically, your combat challenge mod.

    Quests that are stand-alone modules
    Dragon Age Quest - http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/...id%3D567&pUp=1
-Quest mod with adventure game elements in it. Purely comedic mod really. Limited to set human male protagonist.
    Thirst - http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/...3D699999&pUp=1
-Very large mod that appears to have custom origins and looks good.
    The Carrion Birds - http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/...eview%3D&pUp=1
-Quest mod takes place after DAO. Custom origins. Possible to play as male qunari.
    Emissary - http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/...d%3D1152&pUp=1
-From the looks of it, think of the Official Darkspawn mod that was released.
    Fragments of Ferelden - http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/...3D174296&pUp=1
-Make a new character in a large quest mod that's expaned in Broken City. Broken City is very loosely related to 'Dirge of Coldhearth'
    Dirge of Coldhearth - http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/1886//?
    Broken City - http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/...3D301094&pUp=1
    Kal Sharok - http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/519//?
-Quest mod that goes to the other Dwarven city and seems to be interesting. Incompatible with Ser Gilmore Companion mod, so disable either one.

I've only played 'Dragon Age Quest', 'Fragments of Ferelden', and 'Broken City' so far, but I've enjoyed all of them. No idea if I'll have compatibility issues with future quests. Here's a list of all the other mods I have installed though. My current avatar is the one I'm using in 'Fragments of Ferelden' and 'Broken City'.

    Hidden:

    Ser Gilmore Companion - http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/851//?
-Ser Gilmore from Human Noble origin as a companion with what seems to be plenty of voice acted dialog and other lots of work. Fully romancable companion as well. Satsuki would probably enjoy this mod. Must disable Kal Sharok when this one is enabled.
    FtG UI Mod - http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/73/?
-Makes font bigger and easier to read. Helped to not strain my eyes as much.
    Expanded Inventory - http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/23/?
-So I don't have to worry as much about having limited inventory.
Dark Ritual Deleted Scene - http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/1611/?
-Restored scene that Gaider was involved with in a comic by a DeviantArt user.
    Personal Annoyance Remover - http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/...eview%3D&pUp=1
-I believe this gets rid of the more annyoing spell effects during cutscenes.
Morrigan Restoration Dialog fixpack - http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/1120/?
    -Restores dialog to Morrigan.
    Madd Gift Guide - http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/385/?
    -Descriptions for gifts.
Alistair Epilogues - The Royal Wedding - http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/1839/?
-Wedding for female human noble marrying Alistair. I assume Satsuki would definitely love this.
    Lock Bash - http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/301/?
-When you don't have a lock-picker though I do believe this has a chance to break items in the chests.
    Improved Atmosphere - http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/577/?
-Tries to make the game more immersive through various ways.
    JB3 Textures - http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/15/?
    -Texture pack....see images on site.
    Extra Dog Slot - http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/664/?
-Dog acts as a party member with interrupted dialog without having to take up a party space.
    Dragon Age Redesigned - http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/686/?
-Redesigns the Dragon Age NPCS through three packs - Immersion, Beauty, or Balanced.
    More hairstyles - http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/...eview%3D&pUp=1
-.....More hairstyle options at CC. My current avatar is using the last one for males.
    ZDF Dialog fix - http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/...id%3D928&pUp=1
    -Restores dialog for all companions.

Edit: Also had to do a bit of editing to get Dragon Age Redesigned and Increased Immersion to work together. Carrion Birds is also something you would generally disable since it customizes the loading screen to put its title there.

As for Origins, dwarves are always the correct answer. My personal list for best to least favorite as far as the origins themselves goes though:
    1. Dwarf Noble (I go for female due to having two brothers.)
    2. Dwarf Commoner (I go for male for having a sister.)
    3. City Elf (I go for female since I like the way the quest works better than.)
    4. Human Noble (I go for female due to brother and future Alistair Romance and queen status.)
    5. Mage (I go for male....to have a male human. This origin goes to romance Morrigan.)
    6. Dalish Elf (I go for male....to have male elf. Goes to romance Leliana.
    Spoiler:
Also sacrifices himself which makes for a bit of a tragic romance and ballad at the end. Surprising companion dialogue in DA2 if you sacrificed yourself where Merril asks Anders if he met with the Warden, he explains he didn't, but had a friend who did that told him stories, and Merril asks to hear the stories.

Human Noble obviously has the biggest connection to the main story. Dwarf Noble has pretty big connections with the Orzammar plot (Dwarf Commoner to a lesser extent) with Bhelen being the Dwarf Noble's brother. Dalish Elf has the least plot connections.

Lets see... warden is a commoner dwarf thief
    *Highfive*!

Ahahaha. When talking about races the devs always like to comment about how fervent the dwarf players are.

I sadly have only finished one playthrough, my Human Noble. But I also have my Human Mage and my City Elf, both playthroughs of which I would really love to finish and transfer to DA2 if I could just get off my ass and do it. My Human Mage I made as goody-two-shoes as I possibly could, a sheltered little thing shoved into the real world and forced to face it, but being as bright as she could in the process. A freaking Care Bear.

My City Elf on the other hand I had more fun than I thought I would by making her as don't-take-shit as possible. A rebel, one who I'm surprised didn't get the alienege burned down since "diplomacy" wasn't in her dictionary. An elven warrior, it made the armor look interesting.

I had JUST started my Dalish Elf, whom I wanted to make a little Dalish princess, all haughty and full of herself, convinced the Dalish really were descended from the High Elves of old like the legends say. Sadly haven't gotten her past Ostagar.

Not after the amount of squeaking it did in the campsight. Didn't think it was that bad at first until it happened constantly in the background with characters talking.

Any particular reason she liked Sten who goes around talking about how dangerous magic is, women's place isn't on a battlefield, and the society probably hates blood magic especially? Probably my second favorite character in Origins though next to Loghain. Hilariously, Mary Kirby wrote both of those characters and Varric in Dragon Age II, so she seems to be my favorite character writer in the series. She also wrote Merill too.

Also, for Dragon Age III: Inquisition, I hope we get an antagonist as good as Loghain. It's surprisingly rare to get an antagonist who has genuinely good motives for his actions and personal weaknesses rather than just being corrupt, evil, or mind controlled(driven crazy). No idea how well Meredith and I suppose Orsino were in DAII since I only played halfway through the first act.

I think we can say Orsino had good motives, that he was genuinely trying to look out for his fellow mages and not getting psychotic about it like Meredith. Meredith wanted to keep the city safe, but brought things to extremes. Orsino had good intentions throughout the game, until the end when all the build-up finally made him snap.

Although it was hinted at that he was dabbling in darker magic.

Because despite all that, he didn't complain if YOU were doing magic (and I squashed anyone else that wanted that power, so he liked that), came to respect me pretty fast, and he NEVER complained when I decided someone needed to die or did something most of the rest of the party would view as evil as wrong. He generally agreed with it as the right thing to do, in fact.

Morrigan was much the same way. Pretty much everyone else got all argumentive about you doing anything immoral.

Plus... story choices meant most of the other characters were dead.

Oh yeah. I just remembered Sten was the only other character than Morrigan who couldn't die in Origins. You could leave him behind, but that's not a guaranteed death.

So I was unable to have a lot of different scenarios done according to my Shepard's actions, which was kind of annoying. This would fix that. I myself never finished Origins, 4 characters and never finished one playthrough. Never touched DA2 for some reason. But with DA3 that might change. Hell I might even finish this a couple of times. So I don't mind this at all and can't understand why anyone would hate it.

Well, they're definitely high-def. And I know his face is mostly hidden behind the helmet, but from what I can see the hero's face is kinda ugly.

I'll say this though: That flaming sword is faaaaaaaaabulous.

Qunari playable race comfirmed also 14 min video from the pax panel.

Looks great. The combat speed is way more my alley for what I'd want out of dragon age. Friendly fire is also back as an option slider. Which makes me happy. Storm of the century team wipe mayhem!!!
They have my interest, will be optimistically cautious.

Qunari confirmed? Well, I think a large section of the fanbase just broke their windows screaming.

Combat speed looks nice for me as well. I liked the combat look in DA2, but it got tough to control after a while. And, let's be honest, unrealistic (as unrealistic as a fantasy RPG can get, anyway).

Here's a longer two-part vid of the demo:

Game Informer has a full rundown of the demo here:
    http://www.gameinformer.com/games/dr...ion-intel.aspx

Apparently combat doesn't scale like it did in DAO and DA2. Not sure how I feel about that.

I want to bring Avernus back so he can continue his research, under a more moral code. I want to see what his research uncovers, and if it pops up in DAI. Partly to see how it benefits the Grey Wardens, and yes, to see if it allows my Female Cousland and Alistair to have children. Shut up, I'm a fangirl.

I killed Sophia too. No way in HELL I wasn't taking that armor.

Well, at least we now know the answer of if it would be possible for Qunari to do the deed with other races unless Bioware's going way back when race actually restricted romances.
