I didn't catch the Naruto reference. Tell me what happened.

Viz did a great job on Bo-Bobo's dub. They even kept the original japanese opening music and soundtarck. My favorite scene in the whole episode:

Beauty: Thanks for helping me, bud!
Bo-Bobo: Don't cal me bud, call me Bo-Bobo!
    Beauty: Thanks Bo-Bobo!
    Bo-Bobo: CALL ME SIR, BOY!!!

I think the "Naruto reference" they were referring to was Pickle using the sheet to blend in tothe wall, which isn't realyl a Naruto reference, as it's a traditional ninja trick.

DUDE, THEY LEFT IN DON PATCH'S NAME. None of this stupid "POPPA ROCKS" crap.
    [QUOTE]

I just noticed something in the shonen jump that listed the names, it said "Poppa Rocks" but in VERY SMALL TEXT NEXT TO IT IT SAID"("Don Patch" in the Anime)" GASP!!!!

I thought it meant for the Japanese Anime, but I don't have that issue.

    Bo-bobo!

Finally, another anime without an ounce of shoujo fluffernutter in it (aka flamboyantly pretty guys/sappy romance/angsty pasts)

...besides dragonball, but that's besides the point.

Now I am really puzzled. Viz decides to change a lot of names in their manga, yet when they dub the anime they keep the original names. The prime example would be Don Patch. Why the hell can't they make up their friggin' minds?

That's because Viz didn't license the the anime, TOEI did.

very weird. Not the show itself. That's given. I just dunno who they're trying to market it to. They leave the Japanese in so you can see what he's saying which at times is accurate and at other times (Like "Sexy Beam" attack) isn't. Plus they change some names but even in changing the names (like with Tsukemono) it's not adding a sense of the gag. YET with characters like Tennosuke they ARE keeping the gag.

WHO ARE THEY TRYING TO ATTRACT!!!???? *brain explodes*

I got back home right before it came on (forgot about it though), and I thought it was very... obscure. My favorite part would probably be the flashbacks (what's with Bobobo's dad  ).

As for the manga preview, I didn't get why they skipped so much (I haven't read it before, but I could tell pretty easily). I liked it due to it's random sense of humor, so I might buy it.

I didn't get a chance to watch it until the Thursday repeat, but I really liked it. It's a show that revels in its own weirdness even to the point when Cartoon Network openly admits that they don't have the slightest idea of what in the hell is going on:

Optimus Prime: And nobody understands him but his woman... well, okay, nobody understands him.

The kanji caught me off guard at first, but it kind of fits in there even if it doesn't make any sense. I also liked the fact that Toei produced Bo-Bobo's life story.

Then me and CN have something in common. Its the first episode, so I'll give it a chance.

    Don Patch's voice is amazing.

I liked how they changed a lot of the dialogue so the humor isn't lost to the American audience. WIG OUT!

Nope, it's Kirk Thornton, who also does Jin in Samurai Champloo, Saito, and a load of others.

Seth MacFarlane is the voice of Stewie.
