In Japanese media, they frequently announce that manga/anime will encourage people to commit crime. For example, the Japanese media used one of two recent murder/kidnap cases to explain that the attacker is a fan of watching anime. However, these media did not even argue and/or explain about whether there are a correlation between person's hobby and person committing a crime.

Thus, NewsCafe (Japanese mobile news site) has made a poll about, "Whether a cruel and sexual imagery from anime/manga will lead to real-life crime." The result is 50.8% said that there is no relationship; 36% said that there is correlation; and 9.9% said they are not sure.

So, I want to know how people in here think about this. Yes? Or No?

Well, we're on an anime/manga forum, so I'm going to venture a guess and say that it's going to be a unanimous no.

I am really glad to see Kakukaku Shikajika nominated for the Manga Taishou award even if it doesn't win. Koe no Katachi, on the other hand, is definitely a favorite. Ballroom e Youkoso has a chance too, it ranked really high last year. Kind of funny to see Boku no Hero Academia make it there with just two volumes.

Overall, it's a nice list, as usual, with most nominants being worthy of the award.

Not really. Doraemon has won the first Tezuka Osamu Cultural Award in 1997 (and Doraemon started on 1969).
