    Tank! That brings back memories.

Also, remembered the opening from Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C. 2nd GIG. Same singer. Only much better, for me anyway.

Hey since we're listing a few top tens and stuff, here's the current 2014 rankings for 'This Light Novel is Amazing!' one of the most prolific novel ranking magazines in Japan.

01 Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru. Wataru Watari Ponkan8 Gagaga Bunko
02 Tenkyō no Alderamin Bokuto Uno Sanbasō Dengeki Bunko
03 Toaru Majutsu no Index Kazuma Kamachi Kiyotaka Haimura
04 Dungeon ni Deai o Motomeru no wa Machigatte Irudarou ka Fujino Omori Yasudasuzuhito GA Bunko
05 Sword Art Online Reki Kawahara Abec Dengeki Bunko
06 Hataraku Maō-sama! Satoshi Wagahara Oniku
07 Tokyo Ravens Kōhei Azano Sumihei Fujimi Fantasia Bunko
08 Rokka no Yūsha Ishio Yamagata Miyagi Super Dash Bunko
09 Ore no Imōto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai Tsukasa Fushimi Hiro Kanzaki Dengeki Bunko
10 No Game No Life Yū Kamiya MF Bunko J

The fact that OreImo has shown up three times in past years makes me very sad. Then again, maybe the series gets better after the first volume but boy howdy did the first volume stink. That's just my opinion, though. Maybe other readers loved reading multiple pages of the narrator reacting to single situations. I certainly loved spending 3 pages reading what essentially boiled down to: 'Gee why is there a porn game here? Nobody in my family is likely to own such a thing'. Succinct OreImo's writer is not. My Popular Light Novel Can't Possibly Be This Padded.

It's odd that Index is still on the list considering that Index ended a while ago. I can only assume they mean New Testament but they're usually pretty good about including the sub-titles or differentiating between series.

Anyway I'm not actively reading anything on this list since none of it is really up my alley, but others might find it interesting.

Sorry to post in a kind of old thread but I didn't know where else to put this. Doraemon will air on Disney XD this Summer for 26 episodes:

I did not see this ever happening.

So much love in going on in the OP. Paranoia Agent <3 Lain <3 Samurai Champloo <3 Cowboy Bebop <3 I hate Elfen Lied, but that opening is pure <3

But yeah, Baccano!'s opening deserved to be there. MoNoNoKe as well, but I don't think that kind of music pleases many watchers.

I think I've fallen down into the Takahashi Rumiko hole. A friend of mine is a big fan of her so and she has been lending me stuff from her.
For now I've been going through Ranma 1/2 something I remember watching years ago.
So yeah a huge trip of nostalgia but I have to say I kind of enjoy the lighthearted humor. Random panda never fails to crack me up.
Not sure how long this will last but for now I made it to volume 13.

She is the master of the running gag. All her works are always the same never moving stories and yet you still enjoy reading them.

Agreed! Made it through all of Ranma, it was fun. Kind of a shame though. I feel like this series could have explored characters and relationship in a more interesting way without losing out on the fun. Instead it decided to stay rather whimsical. Also Dr. Tofu just straight up disappearing was kind of weird. Still enjoyed it a ton.

I'm skipping Inuyasha cause I remember watching the anime when I was younger and to be honest I don't think I liked it. Thinking about it looking at Ranma and the stuff that I remember from Inuyasha I have to say that she doesn't seem to do very good romances.

I decided to start Rinne (at vol 2 right now) which seems to play to her strengths quite a bit but I have to say it also feels kind of boring right now.
The characters don't have the same draw for me like the characters from Ranma. I enjoy it enough to keep going for now.

I read Rinne in batch otherwise it feels a bit to repetitive (and she could draw that one forever) It's a bit like Adachi, I find they have some common points as Shogakukan veterans (he should teach her how to do romance though...)

    It really is.
It being very procedural and being on the lighter side of things certainly plays to her strength and that alone keeps me reading.

But it also feels somewhat boring right now. I'm always waiting to see something that hints at some kind of progress for the series, like I thought at first ok he's going to try to get a little bit more wealthy and that's what he's going to work towards to, but nope... status quo on his poverty is important for the jokes.

The next thing I thought was going to be what drives the series in the background is him trying to destroy the damashigami organization but again that doesn't seem to go anywhere. The series seems incredibly stagnant.

I wish it had something like the people in black from Case Closed(is that the English title?) or character arcs. Something to remind us that this series is going somewhere with this all.

What makes Rinne less fun than Ranma to me is that the characters lack personality.
In Ranma we had a lot of people with interesting quirks that played off each other and most importantly Ranma himself was a fun main presence.
Sakura being mostly deadpan is nice for some of the jokes but right now she feels like she's just hanging around and Rinne himself being mostly cool about anything happening around him doesn't make for an overly interesting main cast.
    -----------------------------------
On a different note I found my old volumes of Hikaru no Go. I kind of want to reread that. I fondly remember that series especially the whole insei arc.
