If you didn't like Pokemon Contests and aren't hyped for the new game/possible Contests online then maybe you should avoid this thread. I mean, since you never liked Gen3 and we're getting the same thing with some quality fixes and more trumpets, maybe it just isn't for you?

PS: I swear to god, if I fucking see a sudden Mega Slaking in this game I'm going to kill a puppy.

I'm just slightly optimistic Gamefreak has learned from a game they made over 10 years ago, and curious to see what is being remade outside the visuals. Not sure what it means to you or anyone that's actually a fan of this generation, but there's alot of features that could be improved or worked on better and I want to see if they can pull that off. This is remake, not a re-release.

Also. Just hate contests because there wasn't that much to them outside shoving a bunch of blocks down a Pokemon's throat and one-siding every single contest type. It just seemed like a bare bones feature that wasn't very fun for me to play. And for that, I see it being revived or improved with a an actual scene in the modern day online community.

Ruby and Sapphire are actually my least favourite Pokemon games. Which doesn't mean i did not like them, i played the hell out of them.

And of course i'll buy the remake. At this point all they need to say is"New Pokemon Game!" to convince me.

    I agree with Hiroy.

I did Contests like once or twice and then after was pretty much "Nope".

So I'm the only one who spent about fifty hours on contests then? Darn...

Mhm, I'm not a massive fan of Gen III either, but I thought the remakes of silver & gold were amazing. Certainly going to follow the thread to hear what people think.

It was unusual, because when I played it and finished it when I was younger... I thought Pokemon got old, or maybe even I got too old to be interested in Pokemon. Gonna recall my memories of this game here.

    Hidden:

-The world didn't seem to interest me.
-The global warming plot-line just seemed to sell on the whole idea that global warming was actually a hot topic in media at the time. So it felt really shallow.
-The rival didn't seem to motivate the journey. I remember his name VERY WELL!. Wally. Memorable because he was the most hilariously dull character I encountered in the world in gaming. It's sad any NPC trainer would have been a better fit.
-There was this one mountain full of Spinda, and I recall catching a bunch of them to see if there was any sort of point in collecting the different random patterns. Now I just have an intense hatred of Spinda. As a joke tho. Nothing serious.
-I think in that same mountain I grinded for ash/glass or someshit,. I was promised a flute that acted like like a Repel... Imagine my reaction when I learned I was still getting random encounters. It just felt like I wasted my time.
-The secret base thing didn't really do it for me like customizing a room in GS. It helped that I used Mystery Gift alot and had alot of cool stuff to play with back then, but the bases felt somewhat limited to me.
    -Lots of water
-By the end of the game, I had the option to get monsters I actually wanted but there wasn't much left to do in the game with them :T

BW changed my thoughts of the games. It was fresh, had a lovely art direction, gym leaders that felt like an integral part of the world they lived in, and the finale of the game was very satisfying to play through despite all the jokes I can throw at N as a character. So in the end I realized I didn't lose interest in Pokemon games because I grew old, or because the games got old. It's just easier for me to say that Ruby wasn't really a good game. My opinion tho. If you got good memories with the game, I ain't stoppin ya from having them.

I'm getting giddy imagining what the Mt. Pyre, Route 113, Sootopolis, Archie/Maxie Battle, and Elite Four Battle music tracks are going to sound like with the 3DS's sound quality.

That's why never have arguments about quality products like: One Piece, Kingdom, or JoJo's Bizarre adventure.

Oh wait we totally do that all the time.

I... guess I'll use Sceptile again? Don't really care for any of the starters of the gen, and there's other grass types I like better... but I did like Sceptile.

Maybe I'll just do a psudo-nuzlocke first time through. (But getting a mightyena for sure.) I have a complete dex on XY now, so I don't have to worry about that again.

    Would be nice.

But too soon since they only announced it this morning... magazine leaks with ads won't be for a while.
