I knew unexpected things were coming, but this one takes it up to eleven.

Eyyyy, it's been confirmed for the ambiguous summer, wondering if it's going to be very soon like Lunastra and Kulve Taroth.
Looking forward to some unique weapon designs and more armor.
No idea what that crystal thing is about, is that something from Final Fantasy?
Seems to be hinting at a new area or structure we can enter.

I've been wondering something. Oroshi Kirin is an ice elemental palette swap of the original Kirin, yet it still hasn't been added to the game and it was featured in that pre release list. The only reason I can think why is because an eventual new snowy map is coming along.

A new map would be amazing and would give some new lower tier monsters since everything newly released and projected has been threat tier 2 or higher.
No idea how they're going to handle such an update if they are going to do it in the base game, since it's believed to be reserved for an expansion, along with subspecies of the new monsters and a higher rank.
Here's hoping that they diversify the remaining updates they've planned for the sales success of the game.
But I could see Oroshi Kirin being available on Coral Highlands and a new map...

Did enjoy Arch Tempered Kirin, and hope Arch Tempered Vaal Hazak keeps me on my toes, even if it doesn't gain any new moves.
Just thinking of a G-Rank Arch Tempered Kirin with some electric static fields or some crazy new lightning patterns with heightened aggression would be fantastically challenging.

Just realized Behemoth has the Zinogre skeleton. Even the howl is very reminiscent. And it appears to also harness control over thunder element.

Guess Behemoth was yesterday's big announcement. Which is cool, just muted somewhat by all the spoilers.

It's pretty big since before this, Monster Hunter collabs at most only gave variants of their own monsters that resembled something like the Colossal Titan Deviljho and Evangelion Brachydios.

What's got me curious is whether this is going to be a big part of the summer event that's speculated (due to craftable fireworks people have noticed in game) or will it be in addition to another monster during the event.
There's probably more to the event and I wonder if Behemoth is going to appear on other maps/have Deviljho-esque interactions with other monsters.

Behemoth is slated for Summer. Can be July or August, but I can mostly assure you it won't be this month, because otherwise they would have already given the date.

For this month we're getting either Oroshi Kirin or Alatreon.

The official website states that Title Update 4 is indeed the collab Behemoth, so I'm going to believe they wouldn't release either of those before it unless they make the current or next Title Update a two-fer.

Well, this changes things then. Maybe this time we're getting more than one new monster.

    EDIT:

Wait a sec... The Update 4.0.0 already happened with Lunastra!

Title Updates start with Deviljho (1), Kulve Taroth (2), and Lunastra (3)
I can see how it's confusing with Lunastra also being Version 4.0.0

Come to think of it, Kirin is the only Elder Dragon that doesn't have a proper cutscene. Because every new monster that has been added to the game comes with its own cinematic intro, this has lead me to further suspect that Oroshi Kirin hasn't been added yet because of the rumored snowy area.

That and the announcement of the Behemoth has thrown people off their tracks, as this monster wasn't even in the leaked list.

Still haven't had the chance to face off with Arch Tempered Vaal Hazak, but I just found out that the fucker sleeps in the freaking ACID POOL. And this is just the tip of the iceberg, ranged players are going to have a really bad time with this thing.

Managed to finish gathering the seven Arch Tempered Vaal tickets with investment in guard, divine protection and health restoration to combat the Effluvia and Vaal's heavy, heavy hits.
Only wiped completely 3 times, but of the seven fights I won I managed two runs without carting.
Pretty much every fight lasted more than 30 minutes with my survival oriented build.

Really learned to appreciate the many torch pods that I'd use to create a Effluvium free zone and used to create burning areas for that big damage sponge to soak in.

The new Vaal is really jumpy, isn't it? Even in solo. It still flinches a lot but never really gets knocked down when I use Dual Blades. I got a few 10 minute runs but Odogaron has been ruining things lately and I can't get it under that time yet.

Then I tried cheesing him with Cluster Bombs and I can't do it without refilling ammo twice. I'm also missing a bunch of shots because he doesn't stay in one spot. So that takes about 7 minutes doing it the boring way.

I don't understand the conditions for when his effluvia is at crazy levels. It'll just seem to randomly kick in out of nowhere. And then depending on where you are on the map, the tick damage gets crazy if you're not regenerating with a health augment. The gear isn't as good as Kirin's imo. I'm looking forward to different arch-tempered dragons, because the armor is going to be even more overpowered than Lunastra. Imagine some Nergigante gear with attack/agitator boosts and crazy slots. Then there's Kushala and Teostra with Handicraft and Weakness Exploit respectively. Apparently you can only flash Arch Tempered monsters just once? That's gonna be hell for the other ones if we get them.
