    Default 3 Mangapanda bootleggers arrested

3 Chinese guys were arrested today due to uploading ONE PIECE chapter 805 on their illegal website 4 days before the official release date.

A Japanese guy who worked in a delivery company secretly sent Weekly Shonen Jump to Chinese group. Newspaper says that this Japanese will also be arrested soon.

The website reportedly handles more than 4000 mangas and is known as one of the largest scanlation websites in the world.

It feeks shady but its not different from importing from Japan directly, the way that I see it.

With google chrome you only need the hola addon (or any other vpn/proxy connection tool) to have access to Shonen Jump on CMX. I also found out that shonenjump.viz.com allows payment from europe since they expanded SJ to Ireland and the UK. (Again you need the hola addon or other vpn if you are based in another region). I was able to pay with my german paypal account on http://shonenjump.viz.com/. Anyways, I still use an us itunes account that I created years ago and buy us itunes gift cards for the sake of anonymity.

Well, Sure they broke the law and they deserve to be arrested, but sometimes I appreciate them for providing people who are unfortunate to not have a legal way to read the greatness that is One Piece

There are other groups and sites that do much better job at that than MangaPanda, I believe.

I wonder what the penalty for this would be. Imprisonment? A fine? Both?

I love how they visualized the evil doings in this graphic, lol.
"Often I think about my many comrades fallen by my side. I heard their curses against the war and its authors, the revolt against their murder. And I, as a survivor, believe that I am inspired by their will to struggle, for the idea of peace and human fraternity."

I wonder if we would have had the same reaction to this( that they deserved to be arrested) if they had been providing us with great translation.

    YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Next to anonymous and the Holy grail. They were concerned untouchable. Now we won't ever read one of their shitfest translations ever again. Manga is safe for the Americans.... For now?

Unfortunately this probably won't hinder mangapanda all too much. They'll just translate chapters from chinese using Ishuhui's scans; unless they end up getting completely shut down as a result of this... which isn't too likely.
