It was apparently party inspired by Stephen King's boyhood of clambering around in my literal hometown, which really blew my mind to find out. Don't know how to feel about that one lol.

It was good, but too much action for me and also lol at all the flags and nationalism.

i get that you want to be snarky and cool, but come oooon man! were you expecting something other than action in a superhero movie?
thats like getting disappointed because there was too much sex scenes in a porno movie.

I think he's talking about the 2002 film? Which yeah, does overdoes on said flags/nationalism... cuz they kinda had a rough 1-2 years at that point? :/

No lol, you just can't be the antisnob guy to someone who just said the movie was good and added that in his opinion there was too much action. Unless this is some anti-snob snob we're witnessing...

It's better than the Amazing Spiderman movies, but I don't know if it's better than the first 3movies--- because I don't remember them lol (last time I watched them was in 2007)

If you want more elaborated thoughts
-The action scenes kind of sucked because... because IT'S ALL CGI !!!! It looked like the trailer of the Justice League. I thought I was watching an animation movie
-The film is called homecoming but when it happens, Peter just says "I'm out lol"
-Was the technology in his suit really necessary ?????
-Stark doesn't listen Peter for no reason at all. He calls the FBI ??? lol, alien weapons against 3 FBI guy
-I'm glad he didn't end up with the first girl, she is a normie and shallow af.
-Too bad Michelle didn't have more screentime.
-Peter is weak, and even though it's probably because he's 15, it still doesn't make much sense to me how he defeated the villain. Felt like a lot of luck was involved
-Why is Peter a loser ?? He is athletic, good looking and smart......

And it's a typical MCU movie

Watched Baby Driver finally, pretty disappointing.

At first "the action is molded to fit the soundtrack" was pretty neat but it turned into a cheap gimmick pretty quickly and could not save the movie. Beyond that, really clichéd and overdone storyline, the main couple meh, best action scene was the first montage in the beginning, the painful need to sound cool which results in cringe-worthy dialogue half of the time and so on.

Man i wanted to like this movie, especially since Wright´s previous movies were so much fun and entertaining, but seeing this movie and the lackluster dialogue i guess shows Simon Pegg´s comedic talent as a writer since the cornello trilogy was so much better.

So I just saw 'mother!' and I went into the movie thinking I wasn't going to like it, honestly. I thought it was going to be too pretentious and self-absorbed. Like, look at this great piece of artwork I did! It won't even bother trying to hide this is a vanity project. And if you don't like it then the problem is you!!!

Nah, it turns out I liked it, a lot. It made sense to me, it wasn't perfect, but it also wasn't needlessly complicated. The metaphor became more and more obvious as it went along and some of the pieces didn't fit but for what it was trying to convey, I admire. The acting was fantastic and the movie felt intentionally claustrophobic as if you were trapped, trapped like Jennifer was in her situation. Inescapable.

Here's the thing. I would not recommend this movie to anybody. Yep, not anybody unless I really know that person's tastes in movies. This movie will not appeal to many, not becuase it's bad, but because it's very umexpected. I will say it was poorly and falsely advertised, for sure.

Just watched Kingsman 2 right now. The conditions maybe weren't the best (the spanish dub was an atrocity, it was a bit late, we ate a bit too much right before entering the cinema. . .). . . .

. . . .but man, what a MASSIVE disappointment. And it hurts. I really, really wanted to watch this one, cause I think Kingsman is one of the best action movies of the past 5 years or so, and this one is. . .really bad. Like, there're almost NO redeeming elements. The dialogue is insanely uninspired, certain actors seem to spend half the movie in auto-pilot, bored out of their minds; in fact, half the cast does nothing, literally NOTHING; the villain is mind-numbingly boring, the romance sub-plot is impossibly unengaging...

But by far, the biggest offender is. . .the movie is a complete, utter BORE. I nearly fell asleep halfway through it. It's uninspired, there's no passion behind it, there's no creativity, there's nothing, NOTHING behind this movie's creation that might make you think "well, they at least tried hard, it just didn't work". No. This smells like a task they were forced to do, and they did it. . .but they never even tried to go beyond that, beyond "doing the job and call it a day". A shame.

Compared to this, Baby Driver, which I saw a couple days ago, and while *maybe* not being as good as I expected (I mean, it's Edgar Wright, I always expect A LOT from him), blows it out of the water in aaaaaaall aspects. Crispy dialogue, dynamic action scenes, engaging interactions, great editing, good (if sparse) use of the secondary cast, and overall really smart (except for the ending, which is kinda meh). And you can just feel Edgar's freaking passion for that project on every fucking frame of every fucking scene. Like, really, it's far from his best work, but the passion just transpires from all its pores.

Just saw Kingsman 2 and I have to agree: it's inferior to the original in basically every way. It's difficult to describe exactly what makes it so disappointing but if I had to say...it lacks focus and purpose.

The first movie combined training shenanigans and a coming of age story with clever James Bond parody. This one borders on self-parody instead and lacks any sort of thematic story. The characters are all mostly decently acted but I have to seriously question their purpose- two notable character deaths felt cheap and unwarranted while another two to three actors are completely wasted. The cold-blooded killing played pretty much straight also unsettled me.

    Spoiler:
But hey, at least Elton John was great

The main question running through my mind was why did they bring back Colin Firth.

He contributed nothing and i would've much prefered a larger focus on the statesmen agents.

I saw a two movies this week. IT and Kingsmen.

IT creeped me out pretty well. The one kid who constantly made dirty jokes I didn't care for. But I liked pretty much everything about it. But I felt like the black kid was too separated from the group to buy him trying to help.

Kingsmen I enjoyed. But I wasn't expecting a whole lot from it either. I didn't realize Channing Tatum was in it until I saw a poster at the theater lol.

I was also severely disappointed in Kingsman 2.

It was just so much less of everything.

So I saw Primer, and I really hated it. But kind of in an odd way.

The way they go about time travel was pretty complex and interesting, at least… but I really hated the delivery of it all. It was just so drab and boring. It's an interesting case where I really liked the premise of the movie (and I even had some good conversations about it with friends), but the execution was just so underwhelming.

It was made by someone with a degree and experience in math and engineering so not someone experienced with telling a story so that might be why. You might want to watch an explanation video as you might like it more if you understood what the hell was going on. You should also watch Timecrimes next as it's another good time travel movie that's more of an entertaining movie than Primer.

I watched Good Time. It's very good, but I didn't understand the point of Robert Patinson's plotline.

Also, is there a similar thread for TV shows ?

I was only slightly disappointed. It was still pretty fun, and the action bits were insane.

Hope the 3rd part delivers more of what made 1st so memorable.

Blade Runner 2 is the most boring Tarkovski movie I've seen

The first Blade Runner was already giving Tarkovsky a run for his money in that regard.

I saw The Hitman's Bodyguard, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, and the new IT movie at the navy theater in Bahrain. All of them were fantastic films, highly recommend & definitely purchasing all 3 on DVD when available.
