Do you mean your rank of shipmate? You want to become a Nakama, then?

If so, then you're gonna have to wait a while. Nakama is given to all the senior members. You have to be a member of the forum for a lot of months to get that rank. I don't know how many, but I know you've got quite some time before you move up in rank. So do I.

Oh, I almost forgot. If you change your title, you'll have to wait longer. At least that's what I heard in another thread similar to this in the suggestion forum.

sure and when you don't have money, like me, you have to pay with your own body.

You don't even want to KNOW what it took for me to get Mod status... Ooh, I was sore for quite a while afterwards. o.o

Really, though, being sensible and a contributive member of the forums are two important points to becoming a Senior Member. You'll need to be cream-of-the-crop, top-of-the-heap, or just plain filthy rich to be one. Any of the above three is acceptable.

I was made one 2 months after they started the nakama thingie.

I sent my secret stash of me in a brief and a thousand dollar bill with it to them. It worked, big time. I was promoted instantaneously XD

I was made "Nakama" fairly quickly.

    My top three hints;

    1) Bribe the admins and mods.
    2) Sell your body to the admins and mods.
    3) Support Pepsi.

The last is important, as Pepsi is a mod. If you like Coke over Pepsi, she'll immediately veto your Nakama status. She'll do it!!

    Not really.

"I'll pay you... with my body! <3"

Well, it didn't work for Bellemere or Nami either. XD

I have to say that I don't really care about ranks, it is just a title. It doesn't really affect how or what you are going to post. And it doesn't affect what I think of you or why I post here. I come here to have fun and learn things about OP.

Why is it so important to be known as Nakama? So that people know that you are in good with the Admins? Big deal, it just sounds like a popularity contest. OH the admins must like her/him. So let's act exactly and dress exactly like him/her. Let's not be ourselves at all. No offense to any of the admins or any one else. But be happy with what you are now and don't go around annoying anyone with dumb and crazy posts trying to get peoples' attention.

I think the point is, if you don't go around annoying anyone with wild and crazy posts, you'll probably be a Nakama. It's a rank that shows you're an important part of the forum and you actively contribute.

I'll say this, in all seriousness: high post count and a long time in being here won't earn you a Nakama rank.

You sure are going about the wrong way to being made one.

    The important people are...

Having or suggesting a consciousness of high position or authority; authoritative.

Hence mods are important, because they are authority, and Nakama are important, because they are of high position. And that, is importance. You evidently aren't a Nakama (and neither am I) so we are not considered as important as the Nakama. Do not take it as an insult.

Now how to be made a Nakama, from what I can discern is that you will have to actively contribute, make sense, do not piss higher-ups off (as that's always how it works, bub) and generally be an interesting character.

Or you could bribe them ;)

I have to agree with Tehsatan, it is insulting to say that those who are not nakama are not important to these forums.

I agree, mods and admins are very important. They keep the peace and order in these boards. And I understand that nakama are just those they are friendilier with. But to say that the "shipmates" are not important, is some what rude. To me that says that I am a meaningless and unworthy member. That I am just a waste of a member. It says to me that anyone who is a shipmate is just a waste of a member. I know that me quitting because of not being "important" isn't going to make much of a difference (and I don't plan on quitting.) But if you keep going around saying people are not important, it does become offensive and then begins to hurt people's feelings. And when people's feelings get hurt, they tend to start avoiding places. Then what would be the point of keeping a place open if people are avoiding it and/or fighting with each other.

I don't really care about this whole nakama/shipmate thing, like I said before it is just a popularity contest. Something I left behind, when I left high school. I get that nakama are just people who are "friends" with the admins/mods, which is all good and stuff, you guys deserve to be friends with each other. If no one was friends on here...well...these boards could be horrible. But to say that the rest of us is not important (and I know I am being a broken record.) is rude. So a better way of putting nakama, would just be "They are friends with admins/mods." See now isn't that simple and not hurting anyone's feelings. Of course if thinking you are more important than someone helps your self esteem, go ahead and think it.

Paulie didn't say their not important... he said that they are less important. Which is true, really >< Importance is decided by authority, and authority can be biased.

Once again, I don't see any mention of not being important. And once again, authority is biased, but this biasness decides the importance, so there's really a loophole in the meaning of importance... and it's made used of.

YES PRECISELY. Popularity = "importance". Like you I don't care about being nakama, because it really isn't any different from being a shipmate. A mod or admin would be a different story though, but my message to everyone out there (especially thedevil) is that a forum isn't your life, so don't get too obssessed with nakama rank. It's only a rank. No special priviledges... yet.
