Maybe Akainu becoming the Fleet Admiral wasn't such a bad thing. I mean, the Navy's certainly less discriminating now, allowing animal people and the undead into their ranks.

This episode was actually all right. Nothing spectacular and nothing bad.

Zappa and Lola need to get together...

Not!Tsumugu's design looks out of place in this series.
Reminds of that filler bishie they had fight Cavendish.
    Zoro runs towards the enemy
    Does a pose behind him
    Says name of attack
    Blood spray from enemy
    Says one liner

    This was amazing filler IMO

They definitely nailed the G8 vibes and the marine perspective was fresh

I loved that Sanji's marine curry is such a hit with all the marines. Great anime easter egg
And Carrot was absolutely adorable (put more carrots in my curry!)
Coby and Garp cameo also make perfect sense in canon

If this is how Toei can do all fillers, I honestly wouldn't mind watching a full season of it

    10/10 episode

Why is it One Piece has a hard time with pirate-based fillers but always nails the marine-based fillers? This was honestly the best filler I've seen from this series in some time. The animation was on point too and I like all three of the navy characters. Too bad this is only three episodes. They should have made it like 10 at least.

Well now, this is certainly more enjoyable than that last filler arc. It's nice to see Marines again in their natural habitat and I'm already attracted to the Navy Trio.

Prody's voice is hilarious. I liked the episode all the way through and can't wait for more. It's a little strange that none of the grunts recognized Luffy or questioned his arm stretching.

It's weird when a filler episode is better paced and more enjoyable than the canon material isn't it?

Am I the only one who's really annoyed by luffy and carott's stupidity ? That's one thing that they go without any care in the marine HQ, but they also cry nami and chopper's name and luffy use his power...

Maybe because you just don't know what will happen next?

Not sure about Carrot but it's in character for Luffy. I mean I like Luffy but when he's not kicking ass he's a dumbass at times. This is the same guy who just used all their food supply and burned down the kitchen.

I agree. The fact that its brand new content we haven't seen before definitely adds to the mystery and enjoyment

Sure he can be a dumbass sometimes, but that's because most of the times he act on instinct. About the food suply, well he tried his best but he can't cook :). And the burning of the kitchen is something that could have happen to a lot of people I guess.

But for exemple in Dressrosa, sure when he was acting as Lucy he let slip once or twice that he was Luffy but he realize quite quickly that he made a mistake and tried his best to cover it up. But here, he act like he doesn't care at all about being discovered.
So what's annoying me the most isn't really that he acts stupidly once, it's that he act like that continuouselly and doesn't realize what he's doing.

Seems they're trying to recapture the appeal of the G8 filler arc. This was a pleasant episode and do hope the rest can maintain that level of enjoyment. Even if it doesn't, if a a mediocre filler arc can allow the pacing in the canon episodes not to be garbage I'm down with them.

Liked the episode, Zappa was funny and it was overall fitting, even when infiltrating a marine base isnīt exactly a new concept.
Still looking forward to the rookie marines introduced.

Grant may be handled a bit comedically, but the dude could honestly be the next Akainu. I'm hoping Ryokugyu is a tad like him.

I thought Garp wasn't a Vice Admiral anymore but rather just a special instructor. Can some clear that up for me.
