The "usurping Berry team battle" game will be free to play with some in-game items costing extra. The official website for the One Piece franchise also revealed a logo, and revealed that the game will launch in 2018. Bandai Namco Entertainment also opened a website for the game on Monday.

The game is out but as I tried to sign in, I got a server error everytime. Plus I saw many negative reviews about the gameplay issue, camera, too much legging, control problems, bugs and glitches. Some people see black screens or having problems passing the tutorial part. Hopefully they will fix it quickly.

Feels like it's still in beta. The voices become irritating within the first 30 seconds. Connection issues which can be forgiven, but the gameplay is very repetitive. Too early to know if this will be a hit.

You get 150 gems when creating an account, so the general tips is to to roll for one or two batches and if you are unhappy with what you get you can uninstall the app and reinstall and do the process all over again until you get the character you want.

I got Mihawk, Kuro, Zeff, Arlong and Yasopp for 100 gems, i'm quite happy with it and think i will keep this account.
Saving the rest of the gems until new characters are coming out.

top three characters seems to be 30 million Luffy, Mihawk and Arlong.
Yasopp, Zeff and Kuro seems to be pretty good too.

This game has been really addicting. It's fun, but there's not a lot of players online so I'm getting paired up with bots.

I didn't play this game when it first launched-- honestly, I completely missed the launch.

I have only been playing it for 2-3 months.

The character release was a bit odd. From the East Blue, they put quite a lot of characters into the game.

Shanks, Yasop,. Higuma, Fat Alvida, Koby, Morgan, Helmeppo, Buggy, Kabaji, Kuro, Kaya, Jango, Buchi, Krieg, Gin, Zeff, Yosaku, Johnny, Arlon, Hacchan, Kuroubi, Chu, Smoker, Tashigi, Thin Alvida

But then you get to the Grandline and the only antagonists they added were
Wapol, Crocodile, Bon Clay, Bellamy, Enel

So it looks like originally they were moving through the series and adding tons of relevant characters in order, but then once they got to the Grandline they just completely gave that up complete.

    Instead they put in
    Admirals - Akainu and Aoikiji
Shichibukai - Crocodile (already mentioned), Boa, Moriah,
Supernova - Law, Kidd, Jewely Bonny
    Yonko - Whitebeard
    Others - Ace, Sabo

Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp and Sanji all have East Blue versions, Alabaster versions and Post-timeskip versions
Luffy and Zoro also have what I would guess would be Skypeia/Water 7 versions
Vivi has Miss Wednesday, Alabster and Princess versions
Robin has Miss All Sunday and regular Straw Hat version.
Brook and Franky are also in the game already too.

As for the assessment that any character can be invincible if you try hard enough?
    Nope. No. Not even close.

The characters that start off as 2-stars, so their level starts super low but you can collect fragments slowly?
Their attack range is often so crab that it is difficult to hit much of anything, their damage is much lower than any same-level character that starts at a higher level (to the point you will often be hit for only 1 damage per attack when characters have 1000s of hit points), they take way more damage (often get 1 or 2 shotted by same level or higher level characters), their specials leave them completely vulnerable for several seconds only to hit a very small attack radius after giving the enemy more than enough time to strike them or just move out of the way, and their dodge doesn't move them very far out of danger at all and grants no invincibility frames once the character can actually move again.

You use a character that starts off as 4-stars, then you will do massively more damage against any more common character, take considerably less damage, your attack reach is 2-3x as far and much faster on each attack easily allowing you to strike them before they can strike you after which you will naturally combo, your special attacks do have start up time, but often grant invincibility during activation and strike a very large area, the dodge move gives considerably movement and grants several seconds of additional invincibility after performed.

Oh, also the rarer characters grant bigger boosts in support at the same level.

While lower star characters, if you collect the fragments, will appear to gain more stars-- these differences do not reduce or disappear. And it costs the same to level up characters regardless if they are worthless or super powerful.

If it wasn't bad enough that more than half the characters are functionally handicapping oneself to just use them (I have gotten even MVP in A- rank matches using 2 and 3 star characters, but only from being very quick and strategic at the flags and happen to be fighting enemies who were using really low level characters for some reason)

But every person who starts they game starts off with a Shanks who is one of the most powerful characters in the game and start super high level compared to any other character you are going to acquire. By your 60th log in, you can level him up to max level. And since everyone has this character who can utterly wipe the floor with every other character, naturally the majority of the matches are ones where nearly everyone has Shanks chosen as one of their two characters.

If one can get another 4-star character up high enough, particularly a blue one (which gets damage bonus against red and Shanks is red) then those ones will get used to. That is generally only Luffy.

But with all the other flaws of the game laid out, I haven't had much in the way of the bugs that everyone else mentioned. So I guess those have been cleaned up.
