That feeling is what i have with Snake-man on the cover of the 89, Oda spoiling D: This man knows no shame.
Gotta wait for the SBS to finally forget this exists.
No spoiler will ever be more ridiculous than volume 59 being titled "The Death of Portgas D. Ace."
Goku for Smash. I want to believe.

Well to be fair, if I remember correctly, he does get magma-fisted in the last chapter of volume 58 and then promptly dies in the first chapter of volume 59, right? So it's not that much of a spoiler, since you would a) already know that he is probably badly injured, at the least, and b) you would be "spoiled" 5 seconds later anyway, when you open the volume up and read the chapter title. Robin's joining on the other hand, was spoiled about 15 episodes or so before she actually joined.

The only real danger of really being spoiled by the volume title would be if someone was skimming the titles ahead of time, but then again, that is just asking to be spoiled, anyway.

He was fatally wounded at the end of the previous volume, the volume/chapter title only confirms the inevitable, and Oda obviously intended it to. Seeing that on the volume cover is no more a spoiler than seeing the chapter title was on the week to week read, and since it's information we're meant to know, it's not a spoiler at all.

The way it's framed it's hard to tell it's a new form unless you already know it is. This exaggerated post, like you personally have been spoiled by this cover when you already know exactly what it's building up, just feels ridiculous to me. You weren't spoiled. And even if you had been, to compare seeing another Gear Four form to getting a new crewmate... man, I don't know what to tell you. What even is this dramtic bullshit lmao

Posts like these (and they come up basically every time a volume cover or piece of promo art hints at a scene any more explicitly than just showing the characters in it) feel like the equivilent of complaining the blurb on the back of the volume "spoils" the whole first chapter of the book. They're annoyingly paranoid, and most of them come from people who were too up to date to have been spoiled, who put the foreshadowing together easily because they already knew the answer and then complained that it gives too much away, regardless of if it's actually feasible that a first-time reader would feel like something big has been given away.

Awesome cover! One of the best in this arc. And I've enjoyed every cover for this arc.

We haven't had only two characters on a volume cover since Thriller Bark, right?

Nightmare Luffy also appeared on the cover of the volume he debuted in. Compared to that, though, this is nothing - at most, people will think G4 Luffy looks a little different than usual and they'll want to buy the volume to see how the fight unfolds

    That was one character, really.

    Purely coincidence

Not really? Luffy's shadow animating him doesn't mean it's not Oars on there.

    Purely coincidence

    Technically, yeah probably. lol

But Oars stopped being the Luffy we know personality wise once he became obedient to Moriah.

Only in literally the last panel of the volume.

    Purely coincidence

Comparable, sure, but they're very much separate entities. The zombie and real Lolas were almost interchangable, sure, but that was hardly universal. I don't think anyone would argue that Brook and Ryuma were the same person, for example.

Oars was running around doing gum-gum attacks and doing all of Luffy's usual schtick.

    Purely coincidence

I know, but saying he and Luffy are the same character makes it seem like he's just an extension of the "main" Luffy, like Luffy was one person in two bodies, which he obviously wasn't. He didn't take on the memories his shadow made as Oars when he got it back or anything of the sort. (And yes I know Lola felt she'd met Nami before because of shadow stuff, but such a vague impression of the shadow's experience isn't nearly enough for me to count the zombie as something that fused back into its shadow's host or anything.) Luffy and Oars were two very similar but very obviously separate entities who had totally unique experiences. As a whole separate piece of work, it takes a lot more than copying attacks and mannerisms for me to count Oars as the same entity as Luffy.

Technically there's only one character on the cover of this volume too. Luffy and Better Luffy.

    Purely coincidence

...When I saw the cover on the wiki I thought it was a fanart. Iīm not saying itīs a bad cover, but it honestly looks like something a fan wouldīve drawn rather than the actual creator...
