I started playing the first Breath of Fire game on the Switch Online SNES app. I emulated it a long time ago and got stuck on this one boss back then and just gave up, so now I kind of want to beat it just out of spite.

No joke, Breath of Fire II was one of, if not the first, JRPG I ever played and remains one of my all-time favorites. I played the first one a few years ago and also thought it was pretty cool. I don't recall it being that hard, so it shouldn't be too difficult to beat.

Breath of Fire 1 is okay. 2 is my favorite of the series, even with the horrid translation, love the characters and how crazy the story gets. 3 and 4 are probably better in terms of gameplay but the story and characters don't do as much for me. (And 3 has the awful desert sequence at the end)

And 5... is not really Breath of Fire in anything but name. Its neat, its interesting, and were it a unique IP I might like it a fair bit but as is... its just weird. It's also Gurren Laggen without the mechs.

I actually have the second one from the Wii Shop Channel store and moved it and all the other software onto my Wii U but I haven't played it in a while, there's some weird timed events that affect the story and that really annoys me since I don't make snap decisions easily so I kept having to start over.

Super Mario RPG was my first JRPG. Still one of my favorites. Love the Paper Marios, too, at least the first two, and Super is pretty okay. The other two...ugh.

I got the demo for Dragon Quest Builders 2 on the Switch and I'm not sure whether to get it on there or on PS4 or Xbox 1. I didn't play very long and the battery on my Switch was already below 50% so I'd be annoyed at how much power it seems to require. But it's still full price, I'm hoping that it goes down to at least $30 by next year, or maybe even lower on Black Friday.

Haven't really been on top of game releases recently (a whole bunch of originally console exclusive games for instance got released on PC while I wasn't paying attention) but I saw that Blood got a "remaster" by Nightdive so I played a bit of that. It apparently has some issues but I'm sure I don't have enough knowledge of the game to have any issues with them. I only ever beat the first episode too. I love the train level though.

Finally playing the first Yooka Laylee. It's good, but the controls feel kinda janky. Also, it just doesn't have quite the same charm Banjo-Kazooie had.

I thought it had a great deal of the charm (the music was SO reminiscent), but I agree about the controls, especially during the rolling race segment in that first world and in some of the minigame arcade parts.

Been playing Death Stranding. Was laughing after seeing some reviews call it a boring delivery simulator since that was exactly what I was expecting and wanting. It's a really good looking game and though the balance mechanics aren't as thoughough as I was maybe hoping it's pretty cool how you can navigate the world. It's the epitome of "See that mountain? You can climb it".

Been trying to play Rage 2 on Xbox but my god is it a broken mess. There is a audio bug that randomly causes all audio to stop and the only way to fix it is to relaunch the game. It has happened to me 4 times in 1 hour and even worse half of theose times the game wouldn't relaunch at all without a reboot just absolutely pathetic. The game is actually ok when I'm able to play it but at this rate I'm just going to uninstall. Playing through game pass btw.

Studying up that problem has been in the game since practically launch.

I remember Destiny 2 Forsaken having a bug that made one of it's side quests impossible to complete and that took like 5 months for them to patch that.

Playing right now the 2d rouge like Indie Game Dead Cells.
And for sure i can say this was as of now a total blast and thanks to the Cell mechanic i dont get demotivated after multiple deaths.

Since the first second i thought how smooth and fast this game plays and thats what i love the most, but the weapons are something to look out for too, especially the lighting whip!

Just went to check it and damn does it really look like a blast! Haven't played a metroidvania game since Rogue Legacy, or Valdis Story, can't remember which of them was the last.

I'm currently playing Jedi Fallen Order, but due to busy schedule can't dedicate more than like an hour a day at most to it. The combat is pretty fun and I love that the game borrows a lot from Dark Souls. But, it could have borrowed a lot more. Feels like creators took the safe mid path.

I've been playing through Resident Evil 2 (the remake) a few times in order to get the platinum and having a lot of fun. The atmosphere is stupendous and it's overall my favorite besides the 4th. The combat isn't quite as cheese-able since regular knives break and you can't do kicks and suplexes for extra damage. But the tiny amount of space for items and damage dealt in hardcore was incredibly intense.

In my first run, I decided to be a masochist and do the no item box and no healing on Standard Mode. At first I tried to do that in Hardcore but the limited item space + limited saves would've made that challenge way more brutal than it already was. Inventory wasn't a huge deal since you can discard key items after fully using them. Plus no healing means that you don't have to waste any space on herbs/first aid sprays. I didn't really skip any enemies because of all the backtracking. I only left a few lickers alive and all but one of the sewer monstrosities(because I wanted to see how much damage it could take.) Getting past Birkin's 3rd form without damage was brutal for some reason even though he telegraphs everything. Eventually I was able to pull it off and allow myself to take a couple hits vs Burning Mr. X at the end.

It was a great first playthrough but I have no idea why I stressed myself out playing with no healing. You can easily get the trophy in Assisted Mode but that's too easy and requires yet another run. The other runs have been way quicker as many parts of the game can be skipped. And only a few hallways are needed to travel through multiple times so for all the other paths you can just ignore the zombies without them coming back to haunt you.

After what seems like forever I decided to take it back to 2007 by going back to the Xbox 360 via Xbox One S

But with a game from 2013.....Gears Of War Judgement pretty by the numbers Gears title with some new additions such as playing as every member of Baird's squad and the ability to play harder (or not) versions of certain objectives some of which are ridiculous. May try to see what's up with Jedi Fallen Order.

Playing Devil May Cry 5 after weeks of Saga Scarlet Grace Ambitions.

Word of advice to developers if you have a game with lock on mechanics make toggling between hold and press standard. I don't know but it seems weird to play a game without a feature most other games have kind of like a third person shooter game in 2019/2020 not having shoulder switching just cause.

Also try to avoid having cutscenes that use fade outs instead of cutscene to gameplay transitions.

Decided to play through Thief I and II (I have only played the third one). Finished with the first game, recently started the second.

Oh god, the zombiemaps. I was certainly not a fan, especially after having such interesting and creative maps as the Mage Tower. I'm a little ashamed to admit that I even skipped a level near the end, because I was enjoying it even less than previous zombiemaps (it was the Return of the Cathedral one) and by that point I just wanted to get it over with.

The second game, however, I absolutely love it and can see myself replaying it in the future. The levels are fun, the graphics seem to be more polished and varied, I love the mystery slowly unfolding around us and Garrett's "leave me alone, I just want to steal stuff for money" attitude towards the Keepers.

I can definitely feel how much these games influenced Dishonored (the guards even blame the rats for the random noises I accidentally make!).

I also skipped Return to the Cathedral. I didn't have much of an issue with the other levels in the first game though. And Return to the Cathedral was only annoying because it's a map full of fetch quests, not really the zombies. Stuff like the one where you're looking for the horn were great even with the zombies. People always say they like 2 more and I somewhat get it but I don't think it's significantly better or anything. And I absolutely hated the last level in Thief 2. The last level in the first game was great I thought. Also you should go play some fan missions. A lot of them are really amazing and just as good as anything in the main games. I think my favorite is Ominous Bequest (that's the name iirc). It dwarfs even Life of the Party in size and feels like an entire game in its own right.

I enjoyed the last level of The Dark Project more than I thought I would. Seeing those monster hobbling away to the gate was hilarous.

Maybe if zombies didn't come in such abundance, I wouldn't have had a problem with them, but paired with those little unhittable spiders they were a chore to work around or kill.

I think I'll check out some fan levels when I finish with Metal Age.
