Awww, Kyle is so adorable. ♥

Cartman becoming a Jew ... well, that's one thing I didn't see coming!

For years and years, long before the revealing Scott was his brother and that he was part ginger... I'd always assumed that, given how promiscuous his mom is (and the season 2 reveal that she was actually his father) and ho wmuch he hates Kyle, his mom, and jews, that it would eventurally turn out that he and Kyle were brothers and he was in fact jewish himself.

But the Ginger reveal pretty much did that same gag, so I wrote off the possibility. But...

I believe they toyed with that idea way back in the "Who is Cartman's Father?" two-parter.

True, but I didn't expect him to convert willingly.

Funny thing about this, In the original "Spirit of Christmas" short, he actually decides to become Jewish so he can celebrate Hanukkah to get eight days worth of presents.

Probably for about as long as Kenny stayed dead, Jesus stayed dead, or Mr. Garrison was a woman. A season or two, for as long as its funny.

And really, after like 16 years, Cartman's Jew bashing jokes had gotten old, so it was time for a switch up.

Kyle and Cartman actually have gotten a little closer as friends ever since "You're Getting Older", and "Crack Baby Basketball" before that too.

I'd bet it's more along the lines of how long Stan's parents stayed divorced.

Sometimes, a little nostalgia is enough.

Well there the entire joke was returning to the status quo and everything resolving in 30 seconds. If they had kept that particular change it would have radically changed the entire series (which we kind of all wanted, but oh well....)

Here? Well, Cartman being jewish opens up a lot of possibilities and different jokes and scenarios, without completely changing the group dynamic or splitting everyone apart. I have to imagine they'll milk this one for a while.

That was a bad example on my part. A better one would be Stan having a drinking problem at the end of Ass-burgers. I wish I could think of a better example than that since it is the same episode, but I wouldn't consider it part of the whole status quo joke.

What I meant was that I think this is just a one-off joke that won't be referenced again and won't even be confirmed as a joke until Cartman randomly says something anti-semitic. The joke I got from the end of Jewpacabra was that Cartman, despite his sincerity, would be the exact same person next episode. They could milk it and it could be interesting, but the vibe I got from the episode is that they won't.

Sometimes, a little nostalgia is enough.

The payoff with the final bully was brilliant.

    And Butters' final speech. Wow.

And not sure what that song number was about, but... it was catchy.

I think the whole thing was a was a one-two punch for the whole KONY 2012 fiasco (the guy who started the whole campaign was caught drunk, naked and jackin' it in San Diego after all).

That's every season. And opinions tend to vary wildly on which episodes are good or bad.

    Overall quality is always consistent.

That last song was hilarious. I didn't get what Kyle was talking about until then.

that was a great episode. It wasn't until the end song that i realised the whole episode was a parody of the KONY fiasco XD
