I think South Park is not only the most intelligent humor on television, but also the most balanced.

The creators obviously don't adhere to fragile things like 'party lines' and knock that in society which is purely stupid.

People tht don't like South Park seem to be in two camps.

Those that are offended, and those who don't think it's funny.

I believe Cap'n is one that just doesn't think it's funny. This I can understand because if it's not your humor and you're not looking for ponderings on life and creation between Cartman shitting on his mom, that's cool.

But people that are actually offended by it, I dunno, just thinking that is probably what makes it as good as it is in my mind.

Coming from someone who is a fan of such shows as "Avatar: The Last Airbender", that says a lot.

I couldn't give a fuck about you insulting my taste. You probably never gave "Avatar: The Last Airbender" a chance and dismissed it as kiddy.

I know Avatar is good and I don't need the opinion of another to know that.

It's all a matter of opinion. Don't get all pissy about my opinion of South Park.

To me, it depends way too much on shock humor and toilet humor to be worthy of watching.

    My opinion.

But Avatar is also a good show, just maybe not to your tastes. Don't get me wrong though, I find South Park to be excellent. I still have fond memories of that "Cartman feeds you your mom" episode. Classic.

I don't *HATE* South Park. A handful of the recent episodes still make me laugh (The Snuke and Night of the Homeless were ingenious). I just get annoyed with how blatant the "morals" of the show have become. I know it tries to be a satire, but I tend to like episodes that just try to be funny instead of ones that try to convey some middle-of-the-road message (Bush and Kerry both suck! Blah blah Terri Schiavo, etc.).

A few weeks ago I saw the episode about Cartman Land again, and it was funny as hell.

It's not just recent episodes that make their morals blatant, though. I was watching some early episodes and there was this long part near the end of the episode where everything just stopped, including someone that was chasing the four main kids, and they all said the moral for about two minutes. Then the show started moving again. It was really awkward.

Yeah, I know that the earlier episodes had blatant morals as well.

I dunno, I just find the more recent episodes to usually be obnoxious in that regard.

Why the hell do they refuse to show reruns of "Pip?" That episode was fucking gold.

Oh, I gave it a chance. And if I could catch a straight forward rerun airing of it I'd watch it. But on the side of that, I usually don't watch South Park.

South Park is pretty hit or miss for me, half of the time it's unfunny garbage, but the other half of the time it's amazingly hilarious comedic genius.

The Scott Tenorman episode was great because for the first 20 minutes it's like "okay, this is kinda funny." And then the last 3 or 4 minutes kick in and HOLY SHIT.

it like comes out of FUCKING NOWHERE and it's so absurd and hilarious. It made the previous 20 minutes or so completely worth it.

I pretty much love any part with Butters in it. He's so naiive, so you'd expect him to get totally run over by the insanity of it all, and yet he usually ends up winning because of it. xD

    Tenorman was the best episode.

Why do you do this in every topic?

and yea, I don't like when the show gets too preachy, but still enjoy it nonetheless. One of the only shows on Tv I sort of still watch.

It's not only the preachy episodes that suck, though. Sometimes they just try and.... fail horribly.

Like that goddamn Lice episode. That thing was just so devoid of humor it wasn't funny (see what I did there?).

I had forgotten about the lice.

and I thought that was some kind of parody of some movie I never saw, so I thought there was a reason I didn't find it funny.

I barely remember anything from it, so hopefully it will be like watching it for the first time.
