How come people keep saying the sanji is going to be with robin and shit but i think sanji is going to be with some other woman like vivi or a different person. i think she should be with zoro (which is my favorite pairing) or aokiji.

The more I think about it, the less I see Zoro and Tashigi as a couple. To me, they're just destined to be star-crossed lovers. And by 'lovers' I mean "have wild, angry sex with each other for a couple of hours, then resume screaming at each other ...

Yeah, much as I wanted to see it happen (the romance, not the angry sex) back in Loguetown, I just can't imagine a "happy ending" for these two anymore. I can only imagine scenarios like the one you've described above.

There's chemistry between Zoro and Tashigi, but it's muddied psychologically : how much of Tashigi's attraction to Zoro is a misplaced longing for Smoker, and how much of Zoro's attraction to Tashigi is a misplaced longing for Kuina?

Speaking of Kuina, Tashigi's the only woman (besides Kuina) who has seen Zoro's vulnerable side, so she knows his weakness. Worse than that, she's an enemy who knows his weakness. And worse still, she's an enemy who knows that SHE is his weakness! She could do so much devestation with that knowledge! She could run him into the ground just by running into him again -- just by recreating that moment in Loguetown when she rattled him to his core.

And I think he knows that it wouldn't be hard for her to run him down. This is probably why he's avoiding her : because nobody likes to be reminded of a weakness -- but especially not the guy who aspires to being 'invincible' ...

So as I said in a previous Tashigi-related thread, I think the biggest battle of Zoro's life is not going to be with Mihawk, but with himself -- over how he feels about Tashigi, and if he can finally accept the fact that she exists, and maybe even apologize to her for wishing that she didn't. I think Tashigi is prepared to follow him to the grave (either his or hers) until he acknowledges her existance.

So yeah, not a 'happy' couple, but, to paraphrase Tolstoy :

"Happy couples are all alike, but each unhappy couple is unhappy in its own unique way..."

"A sword chooses its owner," is what Ippon-Matsu told Zoro after his death-defying stunt. Considering Sandai Kitetsu's curse, it seems more like it chose a new victim. And who, might I ask, was urging Zoro to take Kitetsu? Tashigi. Seems like that sword really has it in for Zoro, finding his weak spot in less than five minutes. I'm just hoping they don't go the Kill Bill route.

Great point! And ironic, too. I feel that Tashigi gave Kitetsu to Zoro with a clear conscience (not like a witch who knows her apple is poisoned when she offers it to a prince).

Things were good between them originally : he was ready to defend Tashigi from the pirate thugs, and when he realized that she wouldn't need defending, he helped her find her glasses instead (an uncharacteristically kind action from someone who, up until that point, had been indifferent -- if not hostile -- to women). When they meet again in Matsu's sword shop, he's rattled by her resemblence to Kuina, but is civil to her in spite of that and even a bit flirtatious at one point :

Seems like when the subject is Wado, they get along well -- but once Kitetsu enters the scene, the tone changes ...

Here's a long-shot theory : what if Kitetsu's curse is affecting Tashigi, not Zoro, because it can't find any other way -- besides an indirect one -- to break Zoro's will? Maybe it assumes Tashigi's will is easier to break than Zoro's, and -- because she is Zoro's weakness -- intends to break him that way instead? (We've seen Tashigi get close to the breaking point once before, in Alabasta). If that's the case, then Zoro's survival may ultimately depend on Tashigi's ability to fight off Kitetsu's bad influence on her.

It fits fairly well with the plot so far : giving Tashigi a compelling reason to get stronger, while giving Zoro a compelling reason to be grateful to Tashigi for existing (assuming she's successful in fighting off Kitetsu's influence, and therefore able to spare his life in some way that would have ended it otherwise).

Saving Zoro's life is probably not enough to reverse their fortunes as a couple (their chances for long-term happiness are still somewhat slim) but if she does help him avoid the fate of all previous Kitetsu swordsmen, then maybe, at the very minimum, the sex will be sweeter ... (or there won't be so much angst and trauma when they cross paths again further down the Line).

I also like Robin x Zoro. She's one of the few women who doesn't seem to get on his last nerve. They've had some nice intereaction (she seemed to drift towards him a lot in the beginning) and personally I think Zoro's destined to be with an older woman.

Robin x Luffy is creepy. Watching them together is like a mother fawning over her precious child's stupid antics. While she does seem amused by his behaviour (honestly, she finds *all* of the crew amusing) I think someone as bookish as her should be with someone who'd be able to hold decent conversations.

I am also starting to like Robin x Franky. :P

Totally agree with ya! The way Zoro is, he doesn't seem like he'd want to be with someone flaky or bossy (That leaves Tashigi and Nami out XD) He needs an older woman~! Zoro and Robin are so perfect for each other, they just don't know it yet...

As for RobinxLuffy... its a cute idea, but 17 is barely legal, so that's what makes it creepy to me... She's more like a mother to him, like you said.

Now that I think about it, the only pairings I just don't see are Zoro/Tashigi and Sanji/Nami (Sanji + Nami is an entirely different matter, that's.... the basis of Sanji. HE ADORES HIS HEAVENLY NAVIGATING GODDESS OF THE SEAAAAA~! .... She'll just always think of him as family XD)

I must admit, I like crackpairings... such as... things that not only WOULD NEVER EVER HAPPEN (and you must realize, I realize this) but ones that just... don't make sense. For instance... Norland/Tashigi. For serious. Or not, as it were. XD Or a three-Tashigi orgy. (If you don't get that, don't worry.)

Zoro x Kaku ftw~!! When I first saw Kaku, it took me a bit, but I soon decided he was hot, including the square nose... And then when him and Zoro first crossed blades.... Another reason why Robin and Zoro make such a great match is because both spend more time by themselves than the others do -- so it's likely that they'll understand and respect each other's need for "down-time" (time to sleep, time to read, etc).

Isn't it obvious that there will be no couples? It is a possibility that Sanji and Nami may get together, only to Nami's selfish benefit... because the only passionate relationship, on Sanji's side, is between Nami and Sanji.

Luffy doesn't care for a relationship, as he just wants to be a pirate king and live as one 'till he dies. Zoro doesn't care either, neither does Robin. Usopp does care, so he'll probably end up with that girl in his home villiage. Chopper.... can't. Franky doesn't care.

Coupling won't make One Piece better, so Oda should just leave it and just focus on individual ambitions set for his characters. I think coupling is pretty stupid for a manga/ anime like One Piece.
