    Exclamation Re: One Liner Questions

I just logged onto my tumblr and got a message saying that "suspicious activity" had been detected on my account, so it advised a password change. It also said not to use the password on any site other than tumblr (if it it's referring to the original one I had, then I did use it to log in to email so I could change it). I checked my blog and the layout had kind of completely changed. As far as I could tell, none of my posts had been deleted or anything. I fixed it about as close as I could to how it originally was, after I changed my password there and on two other sites I use. Should I be worried? How many different passwords do you guys generally use?

No idea about whether or not you should be worried about tumblr, I'm not using the site, so I have no idea what could have caused that to happen.

How many passwords I'm using ... heh. Well. *scratches back of head*
I have a total of two that I use for forums and crap, stuff that's not really important, where there'd be no serious consequences if it got hacked.
On important sites (eBay, PayPal, my email account) I use unique, long, hard to guess passwords.

Maybe a stupid question, but do anyone know how to make gif images smaller? I'm trying to use one as a sig but it says it's a bit too big.

GIMP is a very good (and free!) image editing/creating program.
You can use it to both decrease the actual pixel size of the image as well as the data size (though you will, of course, have to decrease the quality of the gif or take out frames to achieve the latter).

    ^What she said.

Also, you can reduce the number of colours which will of course effect the quality but will also makes it smaller in size.

I appreciate the inevitable help I'm probably gonna need, but I'm probably going to abandon it. I've never been well versed in the world of image alteration, and Gimp seems like it's completely out of my league. Can't even figure out how to actually resize the gif.

No matter what image software you use, it will feel "out of your league" at first. You just have to get the hang of it. And if you need help, there are plenty of guides on the internet or you can ask us here at AP. We're happy to help. Now if you still don't want to, let Sakonosolo do it, but I'm gonna explain how to do it anyway.

Open the image in GIMP, then go to Image in the top tool bar. Select the option Scale Image. Under Image Size, put in the number of pixels you want for width or height, and GIMP will automatically do the other one for you, to keep it even. Hit scale, and ta-da, it's resized. Save your image and you're done.

Yeah, I'm gonna at least make an effort first. Going to bed for the night now, but in the morning I'll do what you said, Sorikai.

Sometime has to be your first, am I right? :)

What does this sentence mean (French):

En vous félicitant, je vous prie de croire, cher monsieur, á mes sentiments le plus sincéres.

    Google Translate:
In congratulating you, I beg you to believe, sir, to my feelings the most sincere

    Babel Fish:
In congratulating you, I beg you to believe, to sir, to my feelings the most sincere

    Translate.Reference:
In congratulating you, I urge you to believe, my dear sir, á my feelings the more sincere.

    Bing Translator:
By congratulating you, I assure you, dear Sir, á my feelings the more yours.

Take your pick, although if someone here knows French, I'm sure they can do better. The end of the sentence doesn't sound right in any of the translations.

Thanks, but I wasn't looking for online translators. I've already tried those.

The translator is not far off. The sentence says:

"In congratulating you, I ask that you believe, dear sir, my most sincere sentiments."

Now, a question of my own. I can't speak japanese and I'm trying to make my own wanted poster in this website: http://onepiece-ten.com/apps/preregist/

How do I go about it?

No problem. If you have any more questions about using Gimp, just ask again here and someone will give you a hand. :)

If you copy the url into google, the first result will be the page with the option to translate it. This doesn't translate all the text, but I just tried it and it looks like it gets all the important stuff.
